Yeah I've been looking into YouTube videos, and I have no idea what half of what they are saying. I look it up, and I have no idea what the explanations are talking about lol. I tried to look up mixing tutorials and it makes no sense.
Novo, I'd like to do this when I have some money (I have $1 to my name Atm)
they sell this EXACT foam at walmart in the bedding section
I recorded my last 6 songs with no foam or booth whatsoever ..you actually don't need it if you have a high end mic or maybe even a cheap mic

small issue, they dont have walmart in australia.
i dont think its really completely necessary, but the room im working in is not reeeally suited to recording. anything i can do to help ill take it. and if it only costs me 20 bucks even better.
can't you hag some quilts up around your comp/mic er whatever, blanket fort style? that should be at least a semi-functional sound booth. should be a cheep/free fix, to your problems.

all this stuff is incidental and low-priority. if you aint sellin studio time, it barely matters.
what matters first is writing, followed closely by performance, followed distantly by everything else.
the terminology aint the same, if youre talkin production/engineering/whatever instead of vox, but the basic ideas are. preparation, then execution, then a lot of minor shit.
awfully paranoid, arent you?

And I'm sure it depends on your audience. For me I really don't care about the beats, the sound quality, the delivery or any of that. I barely hear that anyway - my mind just kind of ignores it as extraneous noise. I care only about the content of the lyrics. For me, if a song had lyrics I like, I like the song. I couldn't tell you if a beat is "dope" or not, I pretty much ignore it anyway.

For me it has to at least be one or two of those. Honestly, there are too many sub-conscious workings to explain WHY I like a song.

With the right plug-ins you can record in any environment. My computer is noisy, but most would never know from my recordings because I've got a good noise gate plug-in. Getting a good sound is mostly all in the software, as long as you've got a clean-sounding recording you should be fine.
