My college is reading a book about the LA riots and so I made art in response to the readings. 

It’s a Cook Book is a digital collage based on the design of the Los Angeles Police Department flag, with super imposed images of the Rodney King beating video. It’s a heavily distorted mess because the media and City hall have greatly distorted our perceptions of the police. 

Any thoughts, even negative, are encouraged. Let me know what you think.

I feel like that’s perfectly reasonable. No need to be sorry. It’s a very heavily layered image. 

I would have loved to have had the rodney king stuff be easier to see but the original video was so grainy that I had to choose between either clarity or honesty.

Thanks guys! yeah, digital stuff comes out cleaner because it’s not restricted to my hand movements, and i can redo shit a million times if I have to. I try to make them sloppy because I like sloppy but they do generally just have a sleekness. Thanks for looking. I’m curious what that album would sound like lol. 

My newest piece. I took the dripping thing a bit too seriously and decided to stick crayons in my hot glue gun. 

It was closed so we could install lol.

And it does kinda look like a butthole. Shit.
