OK, I’m making my final picks.

One thing we have to bear in mind is that the timeline says that mystery guests only get 15-20 minutes.  That really limits the possiblities, I don’t think somebody like Necro or NWA are gonna come all the way there just to play such a short set. So…

One of em I’m calling as a Three 6 Mafia reunion.  For one thing, it just doesn’t make sense that DJ Paul would be there for Killjoy but wouldn’t be doing anything else.  His last album was on PSY, that alone should mean they’d make room for him.  Bringing in some of the other former members of Three 6 Mafia sounds like it would be doable, and would be kinda cool too.

Another one will be Hav Knots.  Based on their set at Juggalo Weekend, this is not a half ass side project, they’ve been putting in work and writing a lot of songs.  PSY’s gotta give them a push.

Which leaves one more.  I don’t think they would have a third surprise guest that involved somebody who was already playing, but the possibilities are limited because it’s a 20 minute set.  So I’m going with Swollen Members.  Last year I saw Madchild hanging around a lot, selling merch, promoting Baxwar… so I’m guessing it’s probably worth it to him to show up for a 20 minute set just so he can do that stuff too.  As for Prevail, well, based on Miklo’s concert review it sounds like his career is not doing so good and he can use all the exposure he can get.  So it makes sense for him too.

I think three six is likely. DJ Paul is promoting “the year of the six” a three six mafia reunion, and he has mentioned that he and juicy are talking about shit.

I’m not hip to swollen members so maybe it’s a good guess. we’ll see. I think three six and hav knots are incredibly likely though.

Swollen is a wild guess but I figure they’ll have at least one that’s not obvious.

EDIT: you know what else I just remembered- last year on psy radio, jumpsteady was talking about how they weren’t bringing a lot of people back because they didn’t want it to be the same artists year after year, but that there were some artists who were exempt from that and would always be invited.  madchild was one of the ones he specifically mentioned.

dont believe it.  those timeline entries are off.   

Seriously, to anyone who hasn’t gathered before….the “timeline” is more of a list of events that will probably happen in the order that they will most likely happen in.  The starting times and time slots don’t always mean the most.  Some years they seem to try harder to stick to the timeline than others…but we’re definitely on psychopathic time.

Which tends to fuck things up when you want to go to thing B right when thing A is finished.  Maybe thing A will run an hour late and thing B started on time.  Or maybe you left thing A early just to sit for 90 minutes waiting for thing B to start.  And there’s no point in complaining about it- just be flexible and don’t expect to actually see everything that you want to.  That’s really not the point of gathering anyways. We always joke that you can tell the first years because they are like “why is ICP late? This was supposed to start at 2 and it’s 2:30” lol  (because a half hour late would basically be early for the ICP seminar)
