from pwinsider.com:

When Shane McMahon returned to WWE TV last night, he demanded his father Vince McMahon hand him control of Monday Night Raw. This led to the announcement of Undertaker vs. Shane McMahon in Hell in A Cell at Wrestlemania with McMahon getting Raw if he wins.

So, why is this stipulation happening?

Over the last few weeks, there's been talk of WWE bringing back some form of the old brand extension that the company had from 2002-2011.

At its height, the brand extension isolated talents on Raw or Smackdown with PPVs for each brand, creating some in-house competition among the wrestlers, announcing teams and creative teams to be the better side of the company. The two sides would only cross over on major events, such as Wrestlemania or the Royal Rumble. Over time, WWE loosened the extension so that talent from each brand appeared on every PPV and in 2011, the extension was dropped altogether.

It appears that the return of McMahon could be the beginning of the storyline that sees Raw, under Shane McMahon's rule and Smackdown under the rule of the other McMahons, setting those two sides, and their respective talents, against each other.

The idea of Shane in charge of Raw provides the company with something of a reboot for talents who haven't been used to their fullest potential as well. McMahon's verbiage last night noted how the company has fallen under the control of The Authority, specifically noting that WWE's stock price and TV ratings have dropped. Shane McMahon gaining control, either at Wrestlemania or another storyline point, would set the company up for Raw to have a "fresh start" - and one where a new, credible "leader", in the form of Shane, would be "calling the shots" on camera.

It's interesting to note that a Ticketmaster listing for a 5/23 Raw taping in Baltimore, Maryland is billed as "Monday Night Raw vs. WWE", providing potential insight into where things may be going. That taping will be the day after the 5/22 Extreme Rules PPV. The title of that show has been unchanged since it was added several weeks ago, meaning that it is not a Ticketmaster error as WWE would have had it corrected by now. Tickets for the Baltimore taping go on sale 3/19.

It should also be interesting to see where WWE NXT and its talents fit into all this, if at all, since that brand has so strongly been linked to Triple H over the last several years. WWE has big plans for NXT as a touring brand over the next few years, so how those plans will change, if at all, will be interesting to see.

The next six or so weeks will be VERY interesting to follow.

i liked the extension idea back then BUT turned out same people pushed for the most part. heyman's smackdown was excellent. we'll see how bad they mess this up.

So The Undertaker is gonna be on RAW tonight. He's probably going to ask Vince why in the hell would he ever fight for him. Or something along those lines. But as it stands, Shane vs Undertaker at Wrestlemania seems a tad ridiculous. There has to be another angle to this match. At this point, I'm thinking Sting or CM Punk to take Shane's place in the match.

f-u

Eh, but why would he do that after all these years? And I don't think that's how they'd want an Undertaker match to end at a Wrestlemania.

I'm sure there is gonna be some kind of interference in the match by Vince and Co. If they are going back to a brand extention they are gonna have to have shane with and it won't be clean.  I'm sure he will have a big spot but I doubt the shane from back in the day will be there.

So hey, Undertaker on RAW was pretty pointless, huh? I mean, his entrance took longer than what he had to say.

I hate how they book Bray. He gives amazing promos, his in-ring ability is spot on and yet they treat him like a mid card jobber. The other thing that annoys me is the names of these new PPV's. Bring back Backlash, Judgement Day, Bad Blood, Vengeance and get rid of the shit ones. I.e. Road block, Fastlane, TLC, Hell In a Cell. (I mean C'mon...The first two are vehicle references, while the other two are actual matches.)

So who's watching Roadblock tonight? My take on it is it's Vince's way of showing us the Wrestlemania 32 we wanted versus the Wrestlemania 32 he's got planned and the one we're getting anyways. Tonight's show will suck real hard, but that's because it's supposed to. As fans, we're supposed to see the error of our ways and cheer Roman and not boo him, because that's what Vincent Kennedy McMahon wants, and damn it, he does not make mistakes!

I was reading the results from that Montreal house show and it said Owens won clean.  As for tonight, I don't see any titles changing hands. I'm just hoping there is some curve ball or surprise to get me hyped for wrestlemania. There is only 5 matches on the broadcast so they need to make it a good one. I mean its not a true ppv. its more like a live house show being broadcast with the wwe title match making it a little more unique than usual. it would be cool though if they did shake things up and put the belt on ambrose but I doubt it. I predict the best match being the NXT match. Both teams are good and Enzo and Cass are such a charismatic team. I love their whole entrance..SAWFT!!!!! there is a lot of talk of them being bumped to the main roster. We shall see. Enjoy the show everyone. I'll post my comments on the matches later on

Wow... Bray Wyatt looked like a HUGE PUSSY tonight. He couldn't even get into the ring with Brock! "New Face Of Fear" HAHAHAHA . Dolph Ziggler is more terrifying than Bray.

I have no clue wtf that was all about. I thought maybe it was to set up a match at WM. I thought, ok maybe ambrose actually beats triple h and he has a match with reigns at wm and now its wyatt vs lesnar in the street fight...nah of course not. predictable as usual. Overall it was a cool thing to see a house show being broadcast. I didn't expect too much surprise stuff but I was hoping for something. Still though wtf are they doing with Bray Wyatt? who is he even gonna wrestle at WM? if they are gonna shit on his character like that and make him look like a bitch than just give up the damn whole wyatt persona and rebrand the guy. He is one of the best talents they got and is pretty much a jobber to the stars.

Bray Wyatt and the Wyatt family is one of the best gimmicks they have ever came out with. I think it'd be horrible for them to kill off the Wyatt character. He is an icon. I think Wyatt is stuck with that gimmick for the rest of his career. They just need to let him win a few matches. It almost ruins the character when he loses every feud and almost every match. I also feel like he rarely gets to show off his in ring talent. Wyatt is probably my favorite character there. Every promo he cuts is completely captivating, just like Paul Heyman and CM Punk. But my favorite wrestler is probably Cesaro with his mortal kombat uppercuts and big swings and all that.

raw wasn't bad. ziggler had a great match with HHH. I didn't think he would win but was hoping he would. Roman's beat down on HHH was well done and I hear minimal boos especially from a Pittsburgh crowd. I am a Foley mark so seeing him pass the torch(barb wire bat) to Dean was f'n bad ass! Before Negan there was Foley!!!

Shane/Taker was lame. two things stood out and was Shane calling Taker Vince's bitch and Vince pushing Shane into Taker's choke slam. I hated that when they were brawling, Shane did his shuffle. If u were really brawling with Taker, would you do that silly shit? So Mania's card so far is below. It won't be bad but only two matches I want to really see. Divas and ambrose/lesnar.

Triple H (c) vs. Roman Reigns Singles match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship[27]
2 Shane McMahon vs. The Undertaker Hell in a Cell match; if Shane wins, he gains control of Raw[28]
3 Dean Ambrose vs. Brock Lesnar (with Paul Heyman) No Holds Barred Street Fight[29]
4 Charlotte (c) (with Ric Flair) vs. Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks Triple threat match for the WWE Divas Championship[30]
5 The 3rd André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal 30-man battle royal for the André the Giant Memorial Trophy[31]
6 The Usos (Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso) vs. The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray Dudley and D-Von Dudley) Tag team match[32]

good points. he is awesome on the mic. dude reminds me of Jake the Snake. Jake never head a title in WWE/WWF as far as I know but he was awesome. They need to let the Wyatt family cause more havoc. Fuck with the authority, fuck with the league of nations, new day...anyone. Wyatt needs to win more clean matches too. I don't like how they made him look like a bitch running from Brock. He doesn't need a belt but he does need to kick some ass. I mean hell they let dean ambrose take bumps and bray is by far a better in ring worker and can carry any match. I like dean and all but his moves are too few and predictable. More proof you don't need to have an arsenal of moves or have SUPER moves to be over.

I always enjoy a battle royal. Mark Henry for the win im saying it now. Its a meaningless award so give it to the WSM before he retires. Uso vs Dudleys is useless unless its a TLC match. Divas match is gonna be a good one I think. All those ladies can wrestle. I agree RAW was pretty good. Shane was awful on the mic. I worry about this match. I know he is going to take some bumps but dunno how well he will pull it off. Hopefully RAW is good this week. It's in Philly so I'm going.

So I guess Sting is now retiring from wrestling. He has spinal stenosis- apparently the same thing that made Edge retire so soon. I guess we'll never see Sting vs Undertaker now. And worse yet, a piece of my childhood is now retiring... cry
