They should of just stuck with the dark carnival is the place you go when you die, and various entities judge you for your life. I wonder if J had never smoked weed would it have been different to now
They vastly moved away from the storyline of them being two people who work for the Carnival (wicked clowns) on Jekel Brothers. They haven't really returned to that focal point and those characters yet. They didn't move away from the overarching theme of Judgment Day and the fact that their songs are not a promotion of evil, but rather morality tales of what will happen to you if you live an evil life.
I do wish the 6th had simply been a semi-cohesive album about the final entity of the Carnival and the end of the world, but it's really hard to stick to a cohesive theme that you started when you were still basically a kid and full of energy but are now a 30 year old man and have lived a rockstar life for 10+ years. I think the overarching theme stayed, but the storyline swerved quite a bit after Milenko.
