I’m a juggalo because the music and people around it always made me feel like I wasn’t completely worthless. Either by literally one on one telling me that I matter and can make a difference to doing so through their music. 

And because it gives me both a way to define myself against culture and a way to connect with people within culture.

IE: there’s no other place on the to be like i like weird shit without juggalos. At least not the same kinda weird shit

Lucem Ferre. I can relate to what your saying 100%. When I was younger I always referred to myself as a Juggalo. When people ask me now I tell them no I am a RYDA. I think as we mature or some people mature the label Juggalo receives to many negative stigmas. I hate that when I wear a icp shirt or jersey people ask me why? They say things like but your cool, and shower, and don’t do drugs. This really truly fucking saddens me to think that’s how the general society views individuals who share the same love for something as I do.

I remember when the wraith dropped and especially when I saw the Homies video for the first time I noticed….ICP isn’t scrubbing look at shaggy he always looks fresh as fuck same with everyone else on the label. They are rapping about it raining diamonds and shining. So from that point on I did the same and Ive never stopped.

Im beyond geeked that even though there are only a handful of stories on here everyone has posted some positive shit and dropped why they follow the same shine and diamond rain I do. Know what im saying lol. Maybe Why be a juggalo isn’t the most appropriate title for this thread but its gotten some fresh responses.    

For me it was less about the stigma. I don’t give a shit. Let bigots judge me before knowing me. Fuck them. People always gonna shit on me for something. I don’t take it personal. And I’ve always taken pride in being the exception, the juggalo that showered and all that. Learned to stop defending other juggalos when people talk shit and defend myself. Okay, maybe juggalos don’t shower, but I”m a juggalo and I do shower. I also know how to laugh at myself. So I got my respect from people that didn’t really like juggalos. And, like I said, I have a shitty beard and braids. People already assume I’m a juggalo regardless. It was completely about me needing my own identity. Because juggalo or not I am so much more than a juggalo. And I prefer Kanye West to ICP. How could I be a juggalo with that opinion?
