Hey.

I started listening to Milenko when it came out, being from Australia it was a pretty unique thing. Copped the back catalogue and liked the majority of it. I still thought AJB and B/B were fairly decent, AJB moreso. Then, when the Wraith dropped it was an instant turn off for me and 90% of whats been released since then hasn’t really done it for me either. I thought “maybe I just grew out of it” but recently I thought fuck it, and threw on some older albums and still dug em, so it isnt that.

Same story for me. I started by listening to Milenko. Then got the back catalogue. My favvorite being Beverly Kills. Wraith Shrangri-la started to loose me. I liked Hells Pit a little bit but then the Calm was so weak. I quit listening to ICP to til bout the  time Death Pop came out. I still didnt care for MDP that much. I started listening to Twiztid more and more. To me it seems like ICPs music is just corny and week anymore but Twiztid  is bringing to a whole new level. After listening to ICP off and on for 15 years I didnt think Id ever say that

Not speaking about the music here, but I felt a big shift at/after the 10th GOTJ. They started catering to the media more, shoving Sugar Slam down our throats, touring less, making shit merch and dumbing the whole scene down. Oh well. Evolve or die I guess…

@scruffy what if ICP started saying, “fuck Scruffy, he’s a little bitch” in their music, would you get mad then?

What I’m saying is I think a group as theatrical as ICP needs intricate production to add to their whole presence  and when that went so did their ‘x factor’ to me.

I think he could argue that hes not mad at their musical direction but more their unjust views and public slandering of him.

What if their beats were made up of strange and creative loops of recordings of them saying, “fuck scruffy”.

ICP put out 4 masterpieces IMO, Hell’s Pit being the last.  Dark Lotus TFTLP being another.  You cannot expect the magic to last forever.  Just be thankful you got to be a part of it.  30 years from now, it will be nothing but a fond memory.  ICP won’t be on tour, the closet thing we’ll have to that will be some sort of weird Juggalo alumni parties, where we all talk about the who/what/when of way back.

i was more referring to the ‘they dont owe me’ part.

setting that aside, psychopathic musicians have dissed me in their music…  just not by my name, which they probably dont know anyway.

i survived.

  awfully paranoid, arent you?

I’m an old soul. I guess I just can’t move on from the 90’s era ICP/rap in general. I, too lost some interest ater Wraith and had to “force feed” some albums like The Calm and MDP. I can understand and respect the evolution of a band or artist, but I also know that I have also evolved as well. The word corny was used above somewhere and that definitely is the word to use about ICP in my opinion. I’m honestly not mad or butthurt over their newer shit, just won’t be paying their bills by buying their albums anymore unless I listen to it first on youtube.

But however I am butthurt that my fucking cable company doesn’t even carry FUSE at all so I can’t watch ICP Theatre. :(

I think what happened to ICP was that they changed their “Dark Carnival” personas after the first deck, if you notice the old music from the 90’s and early 2000’s they rapped more about the dark carnival, they added mystery and hidden meanings in most of their songs. They made their voices sound like clowns when they would rap, and even if you didn’t like a song it was still interesting to listen to. The anger in their songs was natural and it seemed as if they were having more fun and being more creative with their work, they would drop CD’s while you waited on a CD to come out so you had something new to listen to while waiting on another jokers card.

If you look at their new music after the original deck, they strayed more and more away from the actual Dark Carnival and the clown persona. Their lyrics are more straightforward in what they are trying to say rather than hiding it, they also use their normal voices now most of the time when rapping. They seem to be pushing their lyrics and creativity, as if they are trying too hard to do something that doesn’t feel right. They have become more personal with us in their music and I believe that is why the music has changed, they aren’t the wicked clowns anymore. They are now Joseph Bruce & Joey Utsler expanding the style of music they have become the masters of, and that is why we think they have changed. Do I think ICP is the greatest band in the world? Hell yea, I love them for what they made and their music is beyond words with how great it is. It is so good the Juggalos had risen from it, that is how good that shit is. Do I dig the new stuff? Kind of, there hasn’t been anything stand out legendary like the original 6, but I do appreciate the new music and I will continue to buy new Insane Clown Posse albums regardless if they are good or bad, because it is I C fuckin P! WHOS GOIN CHICKEN HUNTIN!? WHOOP WHOOP! MAGIC MAGIC NINJAS WHAT! FAMILY! FAMILY! FAMILY! WHO TOOK THE CHICKEN OFF THE PLATE? IMMA BE DOWN, IMMA BE DOWN! mmmm it makes my ball sack fill up with butterflies when I think about the Dark Carnival and music it has brought. much much clown love homies.

ICP lost me with all the new shit they put out. I thought FF5 was the biggest piece of shit they could ever release. I know its been 3 months since it dropped and I still refuse to listen to it. Its not even forgotten nor is it freshness in the least. Also with Insane Clown Posse theatre, I can not stand that fuckin show. They act and sound like 2 flaming closet case homosexuals wanting to ass plug each other, Correct me if im wrong but that’s not what being a juggalo is about. I do understand artists change throughout their careers but theyre music just straight up fuckin sucks now. They have a few good songs here and there, Mainly Hallowicked tracks. That’s where they shine the most. But other then that I cant even listen to ICP anymore. I liked Crystal skull cause it had the old school essence of wicked shit. But their music is just way too poppy for my taste.
