Follow up question, I’ve heard at the gathering they have still used regular flavors, this wasn’t the case this year, but does anyone know if this is true in past years?

Iv been going to countless ICP shows in Philly/Detroit since 2002. As well as every the Gathering since 2009 (minus 2013), and the only show Iv ever seen them throw all flavors and not diet was the Riddlebox show. That’s it. When they made the switch tho I’m not quite sure.

around the turn of the century, i believe. wicked clowns from outer space tour.
i think they threw diet at the 2002 gathering. so, gotj 2000 would be the last time it wasnt diet, that i was there for.

I wonder why they decide against regular flavors for gotj, maybe it’s just easier to keep it diet now? Maybe they get a better deal if they order more of the same.

Because the regular flavor eats through cords and equipment faster through extended use then diet. Which is why they also use cola as opposed to a more acidic fruit flavors.

i cant remember the specifics, but it happened between ABJ and WKFOS tours. I have bottles from both tours (unopened, as we could still get on stage at the time – no BS barricades) The first show they used regular cola and rock and rye, the second show they used diet cola and diet rootbeer. I believe ABJ was before WKFOS but im at work and dont have the info in front of me.
J said something in an interview years ago that venues were sick of the sticky soda and the diet isnt as sticky (anyone whos been to a show of diet vs non diet knows)

I’m gonna take a wild shot at this and say April 13, 1993.
From what all the shows I’ve been to I don’t recall them using any other flavor other than Diet Root Beer. May be Diet Cola but nothing else.

Working for coke and dropping cans I can say diet cola is definitely less sticky than regular.

My shirts are stained as fuck. My ringmaster poster shirt I think the soda stuck to my deodorant or something cause it looks like I have brown pit stains (I don’t wear that shirt any more).

I think the diet thing has to do with the less stickiness plus the shooting power. According to people who launch soda with mentos, diet rootbeer is the best to use. Not that ICP uses mentos to launch them but that flavor may be the easiest to lauch either with or without mentos. Here is a little bit of faygo physics for those who haven’t seen it yet.

@piggofdoom , I started it at 1:36 so you could see the height but you should rewind it to see the full video. The key is to loosen the lid slightly. The fails at the beginning result from the lid being too tight. It’s best to use diet with mentos. And diet rootbeet seems to work best.

@piggofdoom , I still think we should form Team Faygoluver’s and have at least one person in each contest. Maybe even contact TJF and have some friendly competition. Kinda like when they used to do the Psychopathic Trivia Contest at Hogs Rock, the Yahtzee Club would enter and compete against other groups.
We would need to have everything tied up. 2 Tuff Tony’s Fishing Tournament, Costume Contest, Faygo Launching Contest, Flow Master Rap Battle, Juggalo Gong Show, Miss Juggalette Pageant, Ninja Olympics, Ring Girl Competition, Tattoo Contest, Texas Hold ‘Em Bounty Tournament, The Neden Game, Wet T-Shirt Competition, etc…
It’s funny, but the Flow Master Rap Battle wasn’t even won but a Juggalo last year. It was that Joe guy (or as he was called by the audience – Butters)
