I . Love hearing everyone’s different thoughts on this type of thing. For me, Chainsmoker is in my top 3 all time PSY releases.

That’s madness to me yet I respect your personal decision. I do like “Bring Me Down” and the one intro track tho.

I’d like to hear a new Monoxide solo album. I’ve never really been convinced of his artistry appeal other than during the early Twiztid albums. And a few later ones.

We finally disagree on something. I fucking loved Chainsmoker and thought that he ripped that shit up. Plus it was more Paul and less Mono if that makes any sense. I can go ahead and say that he is probably my favorite rapper. I love ICP but they just aren’t as consistent with their shit

I liked chainsmoker. it was a different style that Mono came with, and gave more of sneak peek into his personal life.

more paul and less Mono makes perfect sense.  No smoking in the drive-thru…. fuckin funny. I bumped that cd non stop when it came out and it made my move to Florida more better. I gotta run to the store and this gives me a perfect chance to bump it

I agree that it is definitely a personal Paul joint.

That “Change” track was good and as far from Monoxide Child the Serial Killin Painted Up Axe Wieldin Dude as anything.

My gripe is the whole vibe of the thing, as well as the beats. Definitely not a “single” type track on there, which isn’t a bad thing especially considering that its more of a story album in parts.

And I hate that “no smoking” skit. Hate his cop voice despite it intentionally being meant to sound stupid. But the skit with the girl that keeps talking after getting fucked is funny as shit to me.. “she’s still talkin and I ain’t even there”

Yeah, the Chainsmoker LP was pretty terrible in my opinion. All of the beats were lazy, muted and basic. The rhyming as very subpar for Monoxide. Only tracks that really stood out a bit would maybe be Lite It Up, Rite Quick and that Drive-Thru skit.

As for Wizard of the Hood, I consider that album the best release ever put out on Psychopathic. That was the shit. Love the beats, love the rhymes, love the concept

This sums up exactly how I feel about Chainsmoker. The thing is, if you remember in ’04 when it came out, Monoxide was really killing it. On Black Rain, on Check Yo Shit In Bitch, on any feature from that time period (Retaliation, for example), he stole the damn show. Then his solo comes out and it was just “meh.” Not even necessarily bad, just boring. And he kept using that flow on there, kind of like the one he used on “Bury Them All.” I never could stand that. “Change” is probably the best cut of the bunch.

Wizard of the Hood is my favorite thing ever released by the label, as well. I stand by it.

Wizard of the Hood was the one album that I thought was unanimously adored by Juggalos alike. But one of y’all (I can’t remember who) came out on one thread and spoke the opposite. It was shocking but still we are entitled to our own opinions.

My homie from waaay back, a metalhead who has toured with Anthrax, was I’m town briefly about a year after WOTH was released. He wouldn’t stop talking about it. “Its just so…good!” He said and man hahahaha I miss that dude.

Violent J at his PEAK. using marijuana medically for the first time, in turn blossoming his creativity and flow. Losing weight and feeling great and accomplished after finally dropping the Sixth with a new sound and vibe. “Thy Staleness”, “Sticky Icky Situations”, “”Boom!”, “Bloody Bitch Dead”, “My Shine”, WOTH, the list goes on. Dope vibes in a dope era

Zug Izland too. I like those tracks off Cracked Tiles so fuck ya!

I agree with all this. Zug may have become pretty “…meh” since then, but Cracked Tiles was fantastic. As you said, the vibe of that whole era was great, and I still think skinny, stoned Violent J is one of the greatest things ever, both musically and in terms of comedy.

Mike P can be pretty dope, when he’s not taking most of his music from a Halloween sounds album, that is (I try not to think about it)…

That pic looks like how Zack De La Rocha would look if he just said “fuck it, Capitalist American Government Swine, you win”.

Was thinking how there aren’t a lot of tracks where ICP gels really well with other artists. Sometimes it sounds good, like with Ice-T, Paris, Esham, Snoop… other times it is uh, unpredictable… like ODB (dirty and stinkin), those wack KMK collabos, etc. I guess their style is too left field for most to mesh with.
