I can’t think of one song in general that really terrifies me. I don’t think music really scares most people with out it being an aesthetic to something else.

Nah, I think it just needs to be an aesthetic.
Like the music on it’s own doesn’t actually scare people but pared with a movie scene or if you’re having a bad trip it adds to the context of the situation. In that case it’s scary. On it’s own, I doubt anybody here has truly been scared of a song. It’s a situational thing.

Honestly I think it’s trauma based insecurity and angst that he projects on others. He doesn’t really hate us, he just struggles like the rest of us and doesn’t know how to deal with his emotions. We’re both the two most pretentious members on here too. Any time either of us speak it just makes him feel like we think he’s lower than us which is far from the truth on my part. I deal with the same thing, I was diagnosed with PTSD last year and what he’s been through makes what I’ve been through look like nothing. I think he deals with the same existential guilt too. It’s rough. I always try to be more conscious of these things especially since I understand the struggle. But OMD is a cool dude, I wouldn’t take it too personal.

I don’t know about that but one thing that does actually get under my skin is the repetition of records skipping and stuff. Like Hong Kong 97’s loop of I Love Beijing Tienanmen gets into uncanny valley after a while.

If it’s well done, but Satanism and occultism typically comes off as goofy to me. Especially knowing I can get a version of the Grimorium Verum on Kindle. The supposedly most evil black magick book of all. My friend has a copy. Ordered it off of Amazon. Just knowing kind of ruins the atmosphere of it.
Plus, that’s a large portion of black metal which is filled with literal murderers and depraved people but undeniably a lot of it gets goofy too.
