I wouldn't say 2002-2004 was icp's best timeframe musically. shangrila is the shit but it was the first icp record to have a completely different sound compared to prior albums. hells pit was a forced record, j didn't wanna do it and shaggy was drunk 24/7(really wasted on black rain). I still love that album though. for me musically it would be 1995-1999. best time to be a juggalo was 2000-2004 imo.

personally I feel that Shangri La and Hells Pit were definitely J in top form far as rapping goes along with pretty much everything he was involved in around that time (Wizard of the Hood, Black Rain, his insane verse on Zug Izland's Fire, and even Psychopathics from Outer Space 2)…Shaggy maybe not so much but I didn't hate his stuff though I've always felt he was a weaker link in Rydas and Lotus (on Black Rain…he actually had some really good verses I thought on Opaque Brotherhood)
back to the Wraith albums though I really like that they each have their own styles...Shangri La was very collaborative with Twiztid, ABK, Blaze, Esham, Zug, Jumpsteady, Legz appearing throughout the record with background vocals, verses and whatnot....Hell's Pit on the other hand was basically all ICP (think Esham may have been on a skit on there but that's it)...Shangri La is very upbeat sounding and on some positive rock/trip hop type shit whereas Hell's Pit is very dark trip hop/horrorcore sounding stuff that sometimes come across as upbeat but in a much darker way...the outro to Shangri La is the revelation of them being about God whereas Hell's Pit outro is about depression (Manic Depressive...I don't count that mix at the end I've always disliked that they threw that on there personally...not that its terrible or anything just don't like it being on the album)

Desert Prowler
A second patch associated with the classified "Desert
Prowler" project. The collection of five-plus-one stars may represent the
classified operating location at Groom Lake, Nevada, also known as Area
51.
The meaning of the other symbols on this patch is
unclear.

The 6th Joker's wraith image from the album cover was used
on a flight test patch for the Lockheed Skunk Works' Black Ops Desert Prowler
program. It features the wraith with added red eyes, surrounded by six stars
with the words "Desert Prowler, Alone and on the Prowl."

Damn I remember like 75% of juggalos hating on Shangri-La back when it came out. I fuckin loved it and still do. I guess it needed time to test its mark... as much as MEC is legendary, I believe that MP was meant to produce that album. I don't like many of the remixed tracks either. The Witch, 24, Manic Depression, those are good remixes I guess. But Shangri-La was already in top form.
