Let’s put it this way…

In 20 years, will anyone be paying to see a “The Marvelous Missing Link” anniversary show where they play one of albums in it’s entirety live? How about The Mighty Death Pop?

Exactly..

There’s a reason why people are most excited about nostalgia than new shit with ICP nowadays.

Nostalgia is the key. We were teenagers when the first ones came out. Were ~40 now. Of course we miss “the old days”. It’s not because the music was better. It’s because we were just discovering our shit and ourselves. It’s the experience that changed for the worse, not their skill.

That’s why it happens to EVERY band that sticks around. People don’t like the new stuff because their relationship to it is different but guess what. Kids like jiffy long are gonna be 40 and remembering buying all different death pop albums. And if there’s a gathering where they do the too short cover, it’ll be “the old shit”.

don’t get it twisted, I actually love the second set. Just when I hear deck, I think of a thicker stack than 6/7.

Well it’s the Jokers.  They aren’t talking about the full deck.  A standard deck of cards has 4 joker cards in it

I think Noah said that, actually lol…

I’d say Tonight at this moment, it’s Riddlebox>Ringmaster>Shangri-La>Hell’s Pit>Milenko>Mighty Death Pop>Found>Amazing Jeckel Brothers>Carnival of Carnage>BangPowBoom>Lost. For me.

My bad.  It’s been 20 years since I learned to read.

My current is Jeckel>Milenko>Riddlebox>Hells Pit>BangPowBoom>Ringmaster>DeathPop>Shangri-La>Found>Lost>COC

Found is a good record, but the reason it’s so low is because of the YW influence.  I don’t hate YW like a lot of people seem to, but it sounds wrong on a Joker Card to me.  My deal with COC is that I like it, but it’s one of those things where you have to explain the shit out of it to people who aren’t familiar with the genre.  “Ok, so they recorded a bunch of shit on a karaoke machine and then decided appeal to a larger audience, but that didn’t translate so it still sounds like it because they let a studio manager walk all over them, then”…well you know the rest. No need to explain it all in a place like this.

agree with this.  well, i dont know if im not a hater, exactly.  i do know i dont like him; hes… unlikable.

but either way, he really shouldnt have been allowed near any jokers cards.

never actively thought about it, but good point.

I actually, to a very gossamer-thin extent, don’t mind some of YW’s production and even chorus contributions on those records.

However, anyone that has seen my posts since I joined here can attest to the fact that I want to crush his meth face. I can’t stand dude. He looks like he looks at himself in the mirror every day trying to be Altruism’s Enemy. He is a fucking scum bag.

But I like him on The World is Yours. Although, just about anyone with a brain, pumping blood vessels, a throat and a tongue could’ve done that. Maybe some lungs and skin would help, I dunno I’m not a bodytician.. but yeah, J needs to chill with giving snakes a free meal of mice. Horsey Sauce from Arby’s or Stacker Sauce from BK? Remember the Double Stacker?? Shit was divine. Hungry emcees, don’t waste buds. Taste buds, empty calories! Em cee

setting aside the rest, this might nail my opinion of his contributions.

Bang pow boom: meh… Hit or miss for me.

Mighty death pop: better than bpb. But still meh.

Lost and found… To me these albums felt like something different.

Lost had songs that at certain points made me feel this old deviant nostalgia, almost criminal. Ya know the feeling when it feels good to be a bad guy?

Found… Calms me down. Makes me steer more towards positive. Which at times for me is good. Once in a while my stale ass dark mind needs a breath of air.

As the feelings and the vibe flows from the first card first hand thru the last card in the second hand. I speculate the last card of the third hand will have tracks laid out by trans-siberian orchestra with the chorus or hook of the songs done by the mormon tabernacle choir. Not saying its a bad thing as i like different songs in different ways for different reasons. Just feeling its getting softer.

Yeah bitches, im that short gentleman mentioned in that youtube video.

And the very nice, level headed guy from that other youtube video.

i bet i would dig that more than tracks laid out by dj clay and singing from rude boy.

not to pick on clay or rude boy, but cmon, they have their ceilings.

besides, any choir can be all wickedy wicked sounding just by playing it backwards.

and some of that trans-siberian orchestra shit was dope as fuck.

Not saying any of it as a bad thing, just saying it seems to be going that way. Still going to listen to it and dig different parts for different reasons. Altho i do have favorite tracks i dont press the skip button much at all when listening to any cd front to back
