We need some kind of champion. A warrior. To dole out social justice. Who will heed the call?
Trans phobia is gross.
I am retired.
Plus my drag war outfit is thrown deep into the closet.
(Funny story when I was in high school we had a drag contest for the wrestling team and oddly enough I won. With help from many cheerleaders and their expertise with makeup of course.)

Is this girl for really real? Even at her peak relevance she was less relevant than a dogs dusty farts. If she was as good as she is begging everyone in that open letter to believe she would still be making music. And I have no doubt that the contract was shady and shitty. We all already know about the ownership of names and music. That’s just how some indie labels work because it bolsters their back ends. They can’t be assed out putting up 5-6 figures for your merch and then you do nothing and try to make it on your own leaving them withh boxes with your name all over them. FYI Turning 21 doesn’t give you some magical pass to be a worthless drunk. Get your shit together or get dropped…guess what happened?

Don’t excuse your drunkenness and lack of professionalism with the fact that you “just turned 21.” Get your shit together and seize that opportunity!
Didn’t you claim you’ve never had a drink or smoked weed in your life?
Lay off Tali man,not everyone is strong enough to be a teetotaler like you.

What does that matter? I know plenty of people who do but would GLADLY get their shit together given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

I think her response would have had a lot more clout if she hadn’t said the shit about the failing label and all of that. Kept it strictly business and not as bitter then she would have come off as someone who just got screwed over.
Also, like everyone else, she said Shaggs was super cool and down to earth.
everyone except goofy ass Necro lol.
Shaggy is the guy everyone wants to be friends with. He is, as someone put on here before, “That Dude”.

I enjoy quite a few of Necro’s tracks and a lot of his beats. His downfall is his “I’m an insufferable anusface 24/7” shtick.

Being a former addict myself I just gotta say, you can have a huge drive and want to go places in life and have doors opened for and huge opportunities but sometimes.. that addiction can be stronger than your drive.
It doesn’t mean you don’t have the drive. It just means your addiction is more powerful and won’t allow you to further yourself until you can figure out how to get that shit in check.
I’ve been clean for more than 4 years now but I tried to stop a dozen times in my 6 years of addiction. It’s really fucking hard.
Some people can do both at the same time though.
Just look at Charlie Sheen lol

This whole conversation took a wrong turn somewhere. Her excuse was that she “just turned 21”, not that she was battling alcohol addiction. The way she wrote it made it sound like she was irresponsible because of her age and the fact that she could now legally drink. Stop spinning it as anything else.

Oh, I was thinking more of when Violent J said she was an alcoholic. The point I was making is that if she was truly an addict that shit could have definitely held her back.
Between that and her lack of experience I guess.

Can I say something on addiction before we close that area of discussion on this thread? Before I decided on working solely with abuse victims I led several substance abuse groups through various hospitals while I was in college as kind of an internship thing. In school we were literally taught addiction is 70% mental and only 30% physical/systemic. I thought it was a load of crap because growing up where I did in St.Louis I had many friends who just couldn’t stop it seemed and they weren’t bad people they just had this issue.
Well, after a year of running these groups I noticed something. The strong willed ones after their time was up going to groups RARELY ever got in trouble again. HOWEVER the followers or weak minded ones came back pretty much a month later every time. I am talking more then a 70/30 rate for the strong willed independent characters like maybe 97%? However the ones that had nearly no self identity or self-esteem returned nearly a month after EVERY time.
I got to thinking and eventually did a thesis on ones personal mental state prior to addiction having a huge role on escaping addiction. Anyways the fact is addiction is real and it sucks. The ONLY way to cut down on it is to empower these people and help them realize that there are other ways to enjoy life that do not involve killing yourself slowly.
Don’t get me wrong I am pro legalization of marijuana and I think alchohol is great when you want to cut back. But there are some truly terrible substances out there that can ruin lives.

im surprised that any of you even care at all about this.
but then, after the way two thirds of the forum went into spaz mode after blahzay… guess i shouldnt be surprised.
so, she says that ‘the truth of the matter is they just couldn’t handle my outspoken, headstrong female personality.’
i wouldnt want headstrong, outspoken people comin into my business and bein outspoken and headstrong. it would get old real quick. and, bein my business, n all, i would tell em that i aint havin it. if my brand new employee who wants to someday be a partner couldnt handle that, id send em right the fuck on.
about the ‘lay off her, shes an addict’ thing…
you can [and maybe should, maybe] give an addict sympathy.
you do not, however, give an addict money, or responsibility. and you definitely dont rely on em for anything.
so let us not go round talkin bout ‘give an addict a break’. they get a break literally every time they fix.

Actually the worst thing you could do is show sympathy. Empowerment and sympathy are two entirely different entities. You empower them by showing them a better way of handling life without their addiction…you sympathize by coddling them and giving them money and by doing so you are enabling them and giving them more excuses.
So I agree with you 100% . Not sure if you understand what you said is exactly what I meant.
