And damn, I think that was when ICP was my favorite. I haven’t seen a spark in them since that time frame. Brings back so many memories at that point in time, compared to now. The new solo albums have got to be coming soon though, I wish they would do the weekly freekly weeklys. Seems like they got lazy with keep fans up to date on stuff. Kind of like, you find out when you find out sort of deal.

God damn I am sick of juggalos whining about how it was so much better back in the day and blah blah blah woe is me, lets break out the tiny violin.

Yes that seminar is excellent, but ICP has not lost the spark, and truth be told, they are better on stage now than they ever have been. They fucking suck at throwing faygo in all their old videos. They got lazy? sounds to me like you are too lazy to still see the magic of icp.

Bands (and people) age, change, develop, and ICP has done a damn fine job of this. Get the fuck out of the dark carnival if your ticket has expired.

Lmao. C’mon dude, seriously. You’re what in your mid 30’s, still saying you’re apart of the “dark carnival” do you seriously get what that sounds like?

I can recall having hotlines, weekly freekly’s, and all sorts of shit every week back in the day. I could care less about throwing faygo or what they are like on stage now. I started listening to ICP when my step bro gave me a copy of milenko and riddlebox to listen to and been listening every since. Probably 98/99ish. I don’t know anyone that’s ever going HOLY FUCK NEW ICP ALBUM blah blah blah. Now it just feels like it’s just another album.

It doesn’t take a genious to see that PSY is losing there fanbase more and more each year. All the OLD “juggalos” i knew are pretty much gone. Even my friend that was a die hard icp fan really don’t even care about them anymore. So c’mon with that shit.

I may not be an OG juggalo, but I’ve been a fan long enough, and I’m still excited for every new album they put out, be it ICP or even something like Killjoy CLub.

Now it just feels like it’s just another album.

That’s how you feel. Your statements feel a little too broad.

Again, that’s only your personal experiences. You can’t speak for a whole culture based only on your sole perspective. Some people move on, that’s true, but it’s not as though this goes only one way. There’s new juggalos all the time.

If you’re not personally feeling it any more, then maybe it’s you who’s lost your spark, and not them.

I completely disagree. That ringmaster show looked off the hook. I’ve never not had fun at an icp show. I’ve never seen them “lose their spark”. I been listening a little bit longer than you and I’m glad to be back into this shit. I kinda pulled out during the tempest years but the new jokers cards are fantastic.

It doesn’t take a genius to know that people come in and out. For every juggalo that grows out of it and decides the carnival ain’t for them, theres a new 14 year old ready to jump in. If their shit doesn’t work for you, then that’s cool. It ain’t for you then. Maybe you out grew them. It’s no biggie.

When the tempest related albums were coming out, I was checked out 100%. I didn’t go to shows, I didn’t buy merch. I checked out each of the albums and was glad I did’t buy them. I thought they’d lost their way. A lot of ninjas love those albums. I recently tried to go back and relisten to them and still felt like they were absolute garbage. Those albums weren’t for me. It’s no big.

I liked the tempest, The sound of the album was like a continuation of where B/B left off IMO. I think right after FTFO MEC just fell off. the tempest is the closest they actually sounded to old icp IMO, beat wise.

I’m okay with it though, I’ve had so many memories since the 90’s and early 00’s with ICP that I can’t even complain. Just recently lost a friend last year before christmas that was ALWAYS at shows now shows just won’t seem the same anymore without her. Sucks heroin takes peoples lives.

Hopefully the 14 year olds these days are enjoying them like we did. I have sooooo many memories and met so many people, technology kind of changed everything IMO though. I remember release parties everywhere for albums, and wrestling there.

Minus the KillJoy Club….^this^

The person I’ve been listening to new Jokers Cards with since AJB was the new one, is still  listening to new Jokers Cards with me and we both still speculate on em. Because the magic is still there. At least for me, and quite a few people I know. Some of em are new Juggaos and some of em are old Juggalos. That’s just my experience though. The reality is that ICP numbers pretty much stay a constant. Sometimes their albums do a little better or worse but for the most part, they remain the same. (Debut high on the Billboard then drop off but, unlike most artists that debut high, steadily climb in sales over the years)

In regards to them getting lazy

In the past couple years they’ve released music more frequently (to the best of my knowledge) than they ever have. House of Wax, Missing Link Lost, Missing Link Found, Missing Link Outtakes, Phantom, Killjoy Club, and they’ve both been working on solo albums and touring pretty much nonstop. That’s a brutal fucking work ethic.

Basically “If you’re not personally feeling it any more, then maybe it’s you who’s lost your spark, and not them”

yea def. When he lost that weight I feel like the music got better. He lost alot of weight now too though so hopefully it’s back to really good music again.  I don’t feel like they made the album over the course of 3 years. Listen to house of wax and then listen to lost and found. house of wax flows were way better IMO. I wasn’t feeling MEC’s production though. I guess i’m just a picky person when it comes to music. When I think of ICP I think of the loud guitars or acoustic guitars, sick drums / basslines and crazy sounds. Now it’s just kinda like meh to me.

Mec’s stuff just sounds way too bland, I mean seriously go throw on riddlebox, ajb, or great milenko and listen to the beats. They were so dope. Then listen to bpb mdp and tempest. Beats sound completely different. I understand change should come and all that but they went in a completely new direction with there music. I think the closest I have ever heard ICP sounding old school was in yo face and wicked hellaween. Those beats were so dope.

If you don’t think Phantom EP is a spark or a light of sunshine for ICP, then I dunno what else to say.

Phantom EP was good, but wasn’t nothing like OMG that was insanely dope.

I’m telling you guys, you tell MEC to put dark pianos, strings, violins, gritty bass and better drum samples in the music and ICP would be so much better.

Wicked’s production I really enjoy but the only complaint with him was the trap style stuff he was trying to do. But as for what he made on found, I enjoyed.

I just want them to return to there roots music wise. Not even saying “wicked shit” because I really enjoyed shangrila, alot. I just want the beats itself to be better. Take there time, and make good music.

This is a current MEC beat, drums are dope but listen to how dull and boring the beat sounds.

I’ll admit that MEC does seem kinda bored where he is with ICP. But every once in a while he kills shit. Murders it. I like the way his drums sound and I don’t really want him to change it up. I don’t think adding “pianos, strings, violins, gritty bass” will make him better. Hopefully his getting out in front of a different crowd has helped him clear his head. Arts weird like that. you like pianos, violins and bass (which by the way are all strings so listing strings and that seems redundant even though I know what you mean). I like what he’s doing. I think the beats on House of Wax were dope. I think the beats on Death Pop were dope. Daisies fucking floors me.

And I think a major part of their sound is how j sees their band. He talks pretty openly about being pop music and not wanting to sound gritty or distorted. He wants to sound clean right now.
