I had to do a double-take when I saw “Dead Souls Project”, because some friends of mine (a local rapper and local rock act) have a side project together called “Dead City Project”…
Anyway, back to the original topic, damn I haven’t heard of any of the other groups. Then again, if they hadn’t won, I imagine the same would be true for AMB.

which event?of the underground psycho contest you silly man
yeah, i thought that might be what you meant.
far as i know, the only thing that ‘happened’ with this contest was the gathering performances by amb and plc. i wasnt there, maybe there were others, but none i remember hearing about.
all the rest of that stuff was just on the interwebs.

somebody should do a ‘where are they now?’.
lookin at that list again, i know two or three of those guys, and i actually would be interested to know what theyve been doing in the last decade or so.
awfully paranoid, arent you?

Well, keep in mind, Warlock, when I dropped out of the music scene to focus on family and whatnot, Twiztid and Myzery were the next big thing, and Psychopathic Records being anything other than just ICP was in its infancy. It was just recently (like, the past year) that I even discovered the existence of ABK, Boondox, Blaze, et cetera. Hell, I hadn’t even heard any of the ICP albums beyond AJB until semi-recently (With exceptions, like I heard about the Unveiling stuff, the Miracles song/vid going viral, etc). So, while “everyone knew that”, I was still living under a rock bumping the first 5 Joker’s Cards as if time had stopped in 1998.
PS: Damn… There’s a buttload of commas in that paragraph.

Pardon me for being off by a year. That was a long time ago, goddamn it. ;)
So, yeah, ’99. Couldn’t recall if I dropped off the face of the earth when I found out I had a kid on the way or if it was once he was born.
Warlock – I’d run across the site at some point in the last year or so, while trying to reacquaint myself with ICP and Psychopathic after such a long hiatus. I knew it more for the news side of it, rather than the forums. But eventually I started lurking on the forums as well, because a few of the posters seemed to know their shit. Once I decided that this was the year I was going to go to the Gathering, I started working Google like crazy trying to figure out whether it would be worth considering taking my kid as well… Couldn’t find any definitive answer, so I finally decided to post here and simply ask.
PS: Sean, please don’t diss me in your next track for my timeline ignorance. Hehe.

I’m still baffled by how AMB ever beat PLC. I mean, aside from the Tammany Hall-like tactic of buying votes, and the superficial fact that they looked like stereotypical Juggalos, and PLC didn’t.
As I recall, PLC killed it at the 2006 Gathering, and wound up with a tent full of Juggalos chanting “FUCK AMB!”
‘Twas glorious.
