Yes Violentdope, that is the “official” stance, but take my word they are soft on enforcement. I know kids that sell GD mercy all day long on ETSY and at shows. I have never heard of anyone getting a C&D letter from Grateful Dead Productions, but I know 3 people who have gotten them from PSY. Admittedly, I did see some merch vendors at east coast GD shows get thier stuff ganked, but it was always by the local authorities. Still, I appreciate you researching my comment. I wish a lot of the posters here did a little more research. Good post.

I dont know why anyone is surprised. This is a business. They arent your family. I have seen some really dope pieces that were bootlegged though.my buddy had a blue glass pipe that had a wraith on the front of the bowl. If they can get away with it more power to them. There are whole sections in behind the paint on how to steal and they know their fan base is full of scrubs so they shouldnt be surprised either
Go sell some more pencil joints and stolen hardcover science books bitch!! Hahaha

This thread reminded me of a campaign that ICP put on the hotline about 14 years ago. The pitch went like this, if you knew a business that was selling bootleg ICP merch, you could call and leave a message snitching them out… Then ICP was supposed to reward you with some legit gear. I say supposed to because I ratted out my local record store, who was selling bootleg Live at the Ogden VHS tapes and fake Mutilation Mixes and I never received jack shit. Where’s my shit PSY? Haha I guess they don’t pay their snitches very well when it’s all said and done. I haven’t given this incident a second thought since it happened, but I guess it’s just another chalk mark on the broken promises tally board. I wonder if anyone even got anything out of that bootleg campaign.
i met a guy had a leather that he claims was a reward for ratting out some venue or another for allowing the shows to be videotaped.
or some shit like that. point being, that guy got somethin out of it.
awfully paranoid, arent you?

I can count the number of ICP CD’s and merc I’ve bought with less than my ten fingers.
Unless u count concert tickets and gathering tickets.
Or countless of 4$ bottles of water I’ve taken into the pit, for the pit.
Bottom change- ICP cares now. Its true, and I hate it. But I love my FAM and go to the shows to see the FAM more than anything.
From tadpoles to frogs to Jesus to legends.

I have friends who are in bands. and everynow and then they release a CD and the first thing they do is offer them free to family and friends. I ALWAYS refuse and buy the CD….while so many family and friends take the free CD.
way I see it, if they are truly friends and family they would refuse the freebies and WANT to pay so as to make it so the artist their friend can continue putting out product. its kinda sad, but I see alot of juggalos looking at this in a very topsy turvy way.
its like some are proud to brag they have never “bought” a ICP CD but stole it. I’m not sure if some think being a juggalo makes you on the board of directors or approved for theft because you have been to a gathering, but as a juggalo you should want to pay and you should not complain if they have an issue with juggalos cranking out ICP inspired products yourselves.
they arent being greedy. they are being competant. we see things on TV mentioning how much money they take in and its easy to rationalize we should be able to score free stuff. they worked hard and due to their own work became succesful. if the fans early on had your attitudes we wouldnt be on this board cause there would be no ICP.
I dont care if J tells you to steal their music if you cant afford it. you are an island going thru life and you either have an inner compass that tells you you pay for goods or you dont.

@Guest “but daddy Psychopathic, GD fans get to make their own GD merch!”
@TheWarlock I do own the copyright to, and am the sole creator of, the name “Spitendope” which you will be using to make money off of, right? Not that I care, just proving a point.
@tonybaroni it’s how I feel, I won’t download local artists’ music or take free copies, but at the same time majority of the people that download music end up buying the music if it’s good enough. Plus, it’s usually family and friends that first start coming to shows and spreading your name around. They are the street team before you can afford a street team.

I’m was just illustrating there are other approaches to success Lucem. Calling PSY my daddy is odd if you knew me, I love ICP but really don’t give 2 shits about anything on PSY these days. Plus, I have friends who have been financially effected by this. Maybe someday you will make a few friends or have something relevant and intelligent to post, but that day is not today.

I say we stage a bum rush at the merch tent at the gathering this year. If we get 100 or so people to rush that bitch and jack everything they got we’ll get the point across. Dibs on everything shiny, and the bandanas.
Srsli though, stop trying to make money off other peoples ideas. I have deff wrote in a few times about some of these whack ass facebook businesses selling shit with copyrighted images. I’m all for using juggalo related symbols and whatnot to get people to buy your shit, but sell original stuff. Selling aluminum stamped hatchetmen is just some mitch bade shit.

@Guest you’re just another generic internet user who assumes shit to justify you’re own pathetic existence.
I’m not going to claim that you have no friends, or that you have no life, or that you have no money or any of the other bullshit generic internet shit, I’ll point out a fact.
You act as if you are far beyond everybody intellectually yet YOU still never say a damn thing profound enough to make anybody think. In fact, you have accused me of being an ignorant southerner for stereotyping stoners. Wow, you’re not only a fucking idiot but also a hypocrite.
Remember how you accused me of being a self contradicting idiot who doesn’t understand logic and I told you to provide back up for that claim and you used a cheap cop out because in reality you were just talking shit on me for the sake of talking shit?
Don’t make me piss you off so bad that I force you to write a whole essay based on how I’m a loser with no life who isn’t worthy of you’re response with all the grand shit in your life as you desperately try to prove that you have friends outside of this forum. But we all know that was really a cop out. Don’t we?
