I think there is slight drama, just not as much as people would want to think. It’s dead obvious. Monoxide sounded pissed off during his little, “it’s time we finally got ours, nigga” moment on stage. They put a lot of fucking work in Abominationz, made a masterpiece and it got set to the side compared to other artists. So, yeah, I’m sure there is a little resentment on Twiztid’s part, or at least on Monoxide’s part. Just not as much as people think.
What could they have done to promote it? Perhaps a decent promo video on youtube? Compare their youtube promotion to what they did for the mighty death pop. Perhaps during interviews they could have talked more about Twiztid and their up coming release, like Tech N9ne does all the time. Hell, Tech puts up multiple promo vids for a single album, especially if he himself is really hype about it. Also, tech usually releases a single for each album that is accompanied by a music video before the release of said album for each artist on his label. He also promotes the shit out of those singles on his own personal social networking accounts. He also usually takes time during his interviews to shine the spotlight on people signed to his label (and sometimes even people not signed on his label) especially if they have a new release coming up. ICP did none of that for Twiztid. ICP has had many chances during interviews to talk about Abominationz or anybody else on the label and they didn’t. ICP never even gave them a video, not since Triple Threat which was released how long after that album released? And I’m half sure Twiztid did that video on their own. Big Hoodoo and Cold 187um both had videos out before the initial release of their albums to hype it up. So did ICP. There is a whole lot they could have done. Hell, just look at how Strange does promo, Psy is lacking. Remember when strange used to have an artist do a live preview of a song while in the studio to promote a new album? That was fresh. That got me hype as fuck for the albums coming out.

You have to be a fucking idiot if you think they are any less relevant than they ever were. They have been irrelevant for years, just 5 years ago nobody even knew what the fuck a juggalo was. Now days, just about everybody knows who ICP and juggalos are.
More people might know they are but it hasn’t translated to more success and credibility. J says it too in that article. The opposite has happened actually. They’re still a joke to the mainstream and their last card is their lowest selling in their history. And Psychopathic’s releases this year haven’t even cracked the billboard charts. The gathering drew about 4000 people and couldn’t pay their bills so they have to move it for next year. They got the TV show nobody watches and when that’s over then what? They’re becoming as irrelevant as it gets. But hey people know what a juggalo is, in one ear and out the other, so that’s something I suppose.

What lucem said just now is everything i was too lazy to type out. There is no fucking excuse for artists not to have a music video prior to a big release. Its the standard now. Its not like a magazine or a billboard, anyone can post a video on youtube.
mdp got quite a few videos out of it, where the rest of the label got no love…oh wait, we got a dub sack video. Never mind the album is a few years old..

I don’t know shit about any of that. I just know that more people actually know who they are now which makes them more relevant since before they were only relevant to their fans. That, and their show was green lighted for another season. That, and J also said in an interview that he’s happy with all the press because it opens people up to their music. That, and in another interview J said that he thinks the show helps their fan base grow because more and more people are like, “you know what, I agree with him, alot” which contradicts the statements you claimed he made.

I didn’t claim anything he didn’t say. Since you’re too lazy to click the link:
And though Insane Clown Posse has been satirized on “Saturday Night Live” and throughout popular culture, it knows that this recognition does not translate into artistic credibility or record sales. “None of that registered,” Violent J said, when “The Mighty Death Pop!” came out.
In past interviews he had wishful hopes it would lead to more fans but it hasn’t. You should read the article.

3) J always said Psychopathic and ICP go hand in hand. Everyone else is free to come and go as they please. Twiztid has left before… prematurely.
Twiztid isn’t going to spend the rest of their career being “2nd best”. Would you be a cart pusher at Walmart for 5 bucks an hour until you retire if you knew you’d never get promoted?

More people knowing what a juggalo is also doesn’t change the fact it’s not leading to any more success for them, which they hoped would happen. Which is the only thing relevant to them. The opposite is happening because they’re losing more juggalos than new ones coming in. Their low record sales and low gathering attendance show that.

But hey, if they got the drive and determination to write music while juggling stuff like booking clubs, creating and developing merch, and they honestly think they can make a legacy as big as, or bigger than Psychopathic… go for it. I’m not gonna say they’re wrong. As long as the music doesn’t suffer from them worrying about the other shit… who cares?
I honestly believe this is the exact reason they left and ventured out independently. I think it had to do with the freedom to book, tour, and release what they want and when they want.

You’d have to see the contract to see what is included in their deal to really make a judgement on this.
No video in this day and age is suicide though. Video quality and production has fallen in cost so much over the last 5 years it not funny. They should be doing like 3 videos an album if not more. If its not included in their budget or promo contract, fork out the $500 per video yourselves and get it out there.
I know a lot of deals are for distro and PR and dont include the actual recording or promo of an album, thats up to the artists, but like I said without the contracts its hard to say.
Either way, a group like Twiztid could have either forked out $1500 or whatever for a couple of videos and it woulda made a hell of a difference.

Imo it seems like ICP is more focused on the “haters make me famous” approach then making music for the fans anymore. They’d rather sell albums as the ass end of a old joke then something we can enjoy. But hey, money is money– dirty or clean.
I honestly believe it hurts them that they’re hated. They’ve talked about it and they always give various answers. Like they play the role while being sad inside and even J’s went on twitter rants asking why they’re so hated. That’s why they’re trying to go mainstream and be accepted so they’ll stop being hated probably more than anything. These days I think they see more value being celebrities than making wicked clown music too. Not that I blame them they’re in their 40’s and don’t have black hearts anymore like they used to. They can’t run around chopping necks forever without feeling completely retarded as human beings. I just turned 30 and I’m already starting to feel that way but the past holds a strong grip that’s for sure. And that’s their gimmick so what can they even do? Keep playing the gimmick out or continue on to be more likeable and more positive like they want to? Whatever it is they do I hope they sincerely enjoy what they’re doing and not just doing it because they feel they have to or if it’s just for money.
One minute I can’t stand to see what they’re doing because I’m still holding on to the past and the next minute I completely understand and agree with what they’re doing because screw the past. They don’t owe any of us anything and I have to accept it and move on with em and be thankful for the good memories. They built their entire career as musicians around the first 6 cards and schooled it so expecting more is selfish on my part anyway. No wonder they felt free when it ended and wanted to do other things because selfish assholes like me kept telling them what to do after they already did it. These new cards are just extra credit. I just wish I could watch their show. If I come off bi polar it’s because I am.

Do videos cost anything to make anymore? Minus props for the shoot, even phones record 1080p video now lol.
Thats what Im saying, if you have ZERO equipment and ZERO idea how to edit, $500 will get your something pretty damn professional these days. Obviously more for props, extra lighting and shit like that.
This is a $500 video of something of mine for example. (didnt really wanna use my music, but I know exactly what was paid for it so its accurate)
