I gotta say I’m pretty fucking hyped for this album. Ouija is a huge breath of fresh air for a scene that seems to have stagnated. I still bang out cuts from his last effort a few times a week.

Explain what you mean.

There are many groups who claim the title, and there is usually a group organizer for each protest that makes a public statement on what the group is there to do. They blatantly say they are for a communist USA and violence is a necessary evil. I hope you don’t think me speaking out against them is some way of confirming I’m 100% on the side of neo nazi, race based nationalism or some bullshit. Oh right, the assumption was already made. “Anti anti fascist is just pro fascist with extra steps”.

I can’t be against both radical sides? 

There’s no unified national group called antifa. There are smaller groups that use antifa in their names but they are independent collections of anti fascist individuals. 

Antifa identified groups do so to signify that their only unifying view is that fascism is wrong. They are not pro communist or pro anarchy or pro liberal democracy. They are anti fascist and because all of those views include anti fascism are welcome. 

Some anti fascist groups use violence because it works (historically), others don’t because they believe it clouds the message. Others use it only in self defense or as a last resort. There are antifascist protestors who started with one belief on violence and ended in another. 

The people you often see at protests who get labeled as “antifa” as if it’s a single identity group rather than a loose affiliation, are small groups that are opting for a black block strategy which has been deployed by any number of different political views. Black block is a tactic that protects people’s identities so many anti fascist group’s have taken it up whether they are violent or not. 

The name antifa isn’t a central organization or identity the way NRA member or union member is. There’s no fees or structure. It’s not a political party like d or r.  It’s a self assigned  political statement like pro choice or pro life, or to say it without the dichotomy, pro environment or pro constitution.
