My most loved and hated ICP album of all time. I’m 100% bi-polar on how I feel about it depending on what day it is. How cool would it have been if the Shangri-La tour was the album front to back? Or if they did it at the 2003 gathering when the sun was setting and everything was perfect and they could have put it on DVD? They said they’re still gonna do that show but if they did it back then it would have been one of the best things they ever did.

I remember when this came out, didn’t know today was the anniversary though. That was a great night, was broke as fuck back then and was drinking St. Ides 40’s bumpin’ this shit all night. I always liked this album, but never liked that Cotton Candy and Popsicles nonsense. Besides that, classic album.

Maybe it’ll be on the box set? Their samplers were dope.

I still crack up to how much of that came true lol.

Yes indeed. If a gun was to my head and some lunatic told me to blurt out my one favorite ICP song (don’t ask me why he would ask anyone this. lunatic remember?) Id say Crossing Thy Bridge probably 9 times out of 10. Props dawg

I just couldnt get into “the wraith”. the music sounds….I dont know…too prissy and like regular rap music like p-diddy or somethin. it was missing that evil sounding stuff…but maybe that was the point of “the wraith…but even if it was…it was too much of a break from their usual wicked sounding stuff for me to get into it even if it was supopsed to be not as hard as hells pit.

I will say though….the unveiling was awesome.  it was brave and epic. I would have preffered it wasnt so rock and roll…and wished it sounded more like the sort of rap/electronic stuff they usually do. the message of that song was powerful…AND..the sort of “grand finale” where samples of their songs came spinning around near the end was genuis. they also did it on underground baby on hells pit.

definetly the weakest musically of all the jokers cards. I couldnt imagine sitting thru one of those concerts where bands play an album from start to finish. I would have to take a pass on this one as big a fan as I am.

I need that mike e clark otherwise it just doesnt sound as good.

mike e clark is a huge part of why i started listening to icp in the first place.

and, as ive mentioned before, i dont rate shangrila very highly, mainly due to mike p.  i think a lot of the beats are weak, the rockdafied stuff annoys me, and while the lyrics and overall message of thy unveiling are good stuff, i still cant hear the track without thinking of ‘hot child in the city’.

  awfully paranoid, arent you?

Well that’s cool scruffy. But mike e Clark was not the reason I started listen to icp. It was time for a change and mike p did it right.  Mike E Clark was meant to be with icp. But thank god he didn’t touch shangri la or hells pitt. That makes them different then any card.  Maybe not better to some people.  But to me the Joker cards just kept getting better

I think BPB had cleaner sounding production but MDP had better tracks overall. Ditto for AJB and Shangri La. They said that AJB was made to rock crowds on a bigger level than previous cards. Catchier hooks, louder, more appeal or some shit. I still prefer Shangri La.
