I don’t think “internal” vs “external” really works either though.

Bang! Pow! Boom! was all about evil people going to a carnival and being murdered, same as carnival of carnage or ringmaster.

That’s true.  But some of the songs on the album are definitely moving towards the “take care of yourself” internal message, and BPB was the first card in the second deck.  You could interpret that as the final demise of all of the evil characters, which now means that without them we have to focus more internally on the self.

You could also less charitably interpret this as J not having all this thought out at the beginning- the BPB concept doesn’t fit but the songs on the album do, and certainly it’s very clear he had the concept clear on MDP and now TMML.

Either way, to put it very simply I think the message of the first deck was “do unto others,” and the second (though not clearly on BPB) is “take care of yourself.”  The way they convey those messages on both and put them in ways Juggalos can relate to is genuis.

I can see what you’re saying. I still think that it’s a bit of a stretch though. Also, milenko is very “internal” with the idea of telling you not to give into the evil thoughts in your head.

I do think there is over lap and I do think their message lately is more personal, but I think that just comes with age. When you grow up, you become sentimental and nostalgic. You start thinking about the shit you wish you knew when you were young. You look at your kids and think “what could I tell them?” and it changes from when you’re 20 and pissed off.

hearing it for maybe the thirtieth time, man, Found is a very great album.

Mr. White Suit is about the only.one I skip.

Got your Carnival type tracks, The Midway and Lost at the Carnival.

Got your sex tracks, I Fucked a Cop and Pineapple Pizza.

Inspirational anthems, OK, The World is Yours, Found, Juggalo Party.

Dope unique shit, I’m Sweet, Dreams of Grandeur (reminded me of a good Mountain Girl)

The hype track, Get Clowned.

great album

Found does get better with each listen. I too skip mr white suit everytime. Just too poppy for me.

After the first listen of found, i was like “wtf? That sucked”. Then i kept listening. I absolutely love it now.

Despite the detest I’ve expressed in another thread, I like Found and Lost At The Carnival.

But ultimately it is a Christian pop album. A lot of this shit sounds like Kids Bop should be covering it.

I think if you took half the songs from Found, a few songs from found, and the Phantom EP, it would make a better “3rd joker’s card” in my mind.

Or, just the house of wax and phantom EP’s, and the songs from found lol. Maybe ICP should just release EP’s from now on, it’s like they have the opposite of the “strange effect.” In my opinion, strange music’s EPs are generally shit, and their albums are fairly strong. With ICP I feel like their EP’s (LIMITED RELEASE EP’s) are better products than the albums they are trying to sell.

i noticed today that even though I like lost a lot more than found, the found songs seem to show up in my brain more often. Like, I wake up every morning with a song in my head and the past week or so it’s been a song off found. it’s never been a song off lost. ever.

Same here homie. Lately it’s been the chorus to “OK” for me. Shit always pops into my head lol.

yeah i really like phantom. Honestly, I even kinda grew to like more of found than I had before. I think it’s a fun album. No where near as dope as their greats but definitely stronger than my first impression allowed. I like when ICP are more serious but I enjoy their humor in bits and pieces. So found is like a fractured, disconnected hit for me. I’ll skip some songs on one listen, and skip others on another. I like having it on my phone on random which I don’t like for lost. I like lost to be in order, and I like it to be LOUD.

I really like that the albums work for me in such different ways. The same wasn’t true for shangri la and hells pit. I liked both albums at different times, but not in such radically different ways.

and I throw phantom on my phone too, and it’s cool. I like all five of the icp songs on that shit. I hope the other outtakes are just as cool.

after listening to both albums a shitload i think this is the best card since the wraith. both put me in a completely different mood and they’re concept albums. which i think icp shines on the most. bpb and mdp were more about trying a whole bunch of sounds and a lot of those beats were old school. literally. i skip too many songs on those albums. i like that these are new beats, new sound, and i think these flow much better beginning to end. looking forward to the outtakes album. or the mediocre songs as shaggy put it.

more thoughts…

Pros: – inspirational, fresh sound

– return of good carnival tracks

– Otis works in some spots, like Ok and The World is Yours

– Shaggy has about an equal amount of verses, and they are tight

– beats interesting, and nice mix of producers

Cons: – beginning can sound.overly.preachy, but thats the theme I guess

– Otis does not always work, such as Mr White Suit and Time

I think Time is the best “inspirational” song on the album. Mr White Suit, Ok, and The World is Yours are like nails on a chalkboard to me.

After many, many listens, I’m a huge fan of World is Yours, Juggalo Party, Get Cllowned, and most of all I’m Sweet.  I also like I Fucked a Cop, Lost at the Carnival, and OK a lot.  I don’t skip Found, Midway, or Time, but not crazy about any of those tracks.  I do skip Pineapple Pizza and Delusions of Grandeur- Delusions is hilarious and Pineapple pizza is sort of funny but there’s not much more to either than the humor and I have no need to hear them over and over again.

Mr. White Suit, I still just don’t know what to make of.  I hated it at first but it sounds so weird for an ICP song that I’ve come to like it in a way.  It almost seems like it’s intended to fuck with people a little bit, which makes me view it favorably.  Or maybe it’s just a really bad song and I’m trying to rationalize it somehow.

so I came across this podcast of these 2 nobodys who I guess review things. They did a review of “Found”, and they gave it a 0/5. throughout listening to this, you clearly get that they don’t know what the “Carnival” is, or which one is J, and which one is Shaggy. its about 45 minutes long. I chuckled a few times, but for the most part, these guys are pretty ignorant. They do pull a quote from @punkrockjuggalo from FLH at 11:45..  I guess FLH posted a thing from these guys’s site about the top worst ICP songs. anyways, here it is.

the one guy who sounds like he’s on the phone and not in the room, sounds drunk. It’s kinda annoying.

also, they’re saying that found is all about being christian and they never mention jesus or christianity at all. They’re so completely off. They’re very shallow readers. I kinda wanna check out their review of LOST that they mention.
