on my third listen. some thoughts.

– this Otis thing looks like its here to stay. i am slowly letting this half of the Asperger’s Brother into my musical acceptance.

– the removal of Legs will be one of the biggest paradigm shifts to accept, I think. i am going with it.

– i hear traces of everything in this cd…. even J brings out wafts of his style on The Shining solo disc.

– i have a theory… the new six are the original, just reshuffled and renamed, but like an Earth 2 in presentation. The New Six is like a different decade of someone’s life. A personal era, similar but altered from the last ten years.

– so far, i feel like Bang!Pow!Boom! is just the fifth joker’s card, The Amazing Jeckel Bros. I say this due to the loud, crisp production of Mike E Clark, it is big stadium shit like Jeckel. Plus the face designs are similar, like explosions n fire n shit.

– The Mighty Death Pop! is either Carnival of Carnage or Riddlebox. Or Milenko… im not sure on this yet.

– The Missing Links are definitely a new Hells Pit and Shangri La. Two discs of evil shit and happy shit. The beginning of Found. Also, and this is important: the removal of Mike E Clark for the first time in a series. Just like !)Shangri La, and Hells Pit. Replaced by Young Wicked, Kuma, Seven, and (!) Mike P. Just like before.

– if my theory is true, then Mike E Clark will return for at least a portion of the next card.

– what’s next? A Riddlebox type card? Coinciding with the energy frm the Riddlebox 20th anniversary? Or is the Mighty Death Pop the Riddlebox? Get it, Death “POP”!? Like a jack in the box?

– The Female Card we all have been discussing for years? crazyness

– “OK” is like a culmination of ICP finally getting a certain type.of track theyve been playing with for years, right.

– the Young Wicked parts are really good, but still so fucking weird, yall.

– more thoughts lata

its like the culmination of “The Fuck You’s” from the American Psychos disc, “Juggalo Island”, “Pass Me By”, “14 Years Old” (J’s rapping style), “I Do This”, “Forever”, and more… good shit. I want to fuck Sugar Slam’s voice, sometimes. Autotuned or not.

I really dig found, and listen to it a lot.  I run to it.  songs like Found, OK, Mr.Whitesuit, Juggalo Party, The World is yours, and Time are just so fucking great to listen to, and a breath of fresh air. So much positivity to it, and yes Miklo, they are fun to sing to.

The addition of Young Wicked… or Otis…. I don’t like either names, lets just call him, Steve,  was a good choice.

I'll fuck you till you love me, Faggot!

i thoroughly enjoyed found, far more than lost

i cant pick a track i love or hate yet, but i like it.

and im digging Otis being flavour of the month at psychopathic. because lets face, he will last a handful of years and probably fall off the map. which is sad because im a big fan.

Interesting thoughts OMD. I liken Found to The Shining as well. Definitely has that vibe.

Not sure if I feel the same about comparing the new deck’s individual cards to the old deck’s, but it’s interesting to think about.

I’ve gotten use to Otis over the past few years so he doesn’t bother me. It is a very different overall sound without Legz though. More so than MEC for me. Hopefully Legz is just taking a bit of a break.

A female joker’s card huh…? I like the idea, but for it to work I think they’d need many features by female artists. Not saying I wouldn’t like it or it wouldn’t work, but it would come off as more of a concept album to me. However, aren’t all the joker’s card just concept albums…? Now I’m confusing myself getclowned

I think mighty death pop was a riddlebox style card. Warning of the impending doom of living a wicked life.

I’m pretty sure J said that the last card would still be a two part Shangri LA and hell’s pit tho.. which I thought was weird because I thought that’s what missing link was.

That’s a really good point, I hadn’t thought of it like that but definitely agree.  “OK” isn’t my favorite song off of Found but it does sounds like their most successful attempt at something they’ve been trying to do with a bunch of earlier songs.

so for now we will go with:

Bang!Pow!Boom! = Amazing Jeckel Bros.

The Mighty Death Pop! = Riddlebox

The Missing Link: Lost = The Wraith: Hell’s Pit

The Missing Link: Found = The Wraith: Shangri-La

perhaps the last will end as it begun, with a Carnival of Carnage type album, although I’m not sure how they could pull that one off… bringing back John Kickchass, Jumpsteady, Greez-Ee, Esham, and that dude that produced the tracks before Mike Clark lol… shit would be crazy odd.

back into the sewers… back to Del Ray…

maybe an ending like The Dark Tower… lol

The man in black fled across the desert, and The Wicked Clowns followed.

if youre gonna try to make the direct comparison, thats not bad.  mostly fits.

i really need to get around to scoopin up found and actually hearing it.

im lazy, spose.  but on the plus side, ive listened to lost all the way through three whole times, now.

I slacked on Found but once I saw the BestBuy deal, had to get it. HatchetGear pisses me off, they say I already have an account and I do, cant remember password, so i say email me new one, never shows up etc

anyway, i just feel like they are their own entities of course. but in that alternate dimension style, like a Joker’s Card Series for a whole different epoch.

Lost is great, too, but so different. I love how every Joker’s Card is so unique.

I don’t think it’s all that calculated and planned out though.

The message of the first deck is externally focused, it’s about how you treat other people, karmic retribution if you do wrong, etc.

The message of the second deck is internally focused, it’s about being good to yourself, not fucking up the opportunity to take advantage of the good things in life, etc.

I thought Lost seemed kind of forced when I first heard it, like they said they were going to do a Joker’s Card and so they had to do one whether the inspiration is really there or not.  But now in the context of Found and listening to them both together I think TMML is in a way the best realization of the Joker’s Card concept they’ve ever done.

this may be speculation, but it strikes me as exactly what theyre doing.

this is why i dont have much to say about lost, and probably why i dont quite dig it [yet?].

i gotta hear found, and get the whole thing together.

from sounds, seems to me like the two albums are better companion pieces than shangrila and hells pit were.

for my taste, those albums barely connect.  almost in a forced-too-hard kinda way.  i dunno.

  awfully paranoid, arent you?

I don’t think “internal” vs “external” really works either though.

Bang! Pow! Boom! was all about evil people going to a carnival and being murdered, same as carnival of carnage or ringmaster.

just to be specific, i didnt mean so much the mythology of it all, as the overall themes theyve been into.  music-wise.

but youre right, its more since death pop.

eh, its all open to a quadzillion interpretations.

on another note, it occurred to me that flh hosts a couple found songs, so i might as well peep those.

just listened to get clowned.  pretty good.

now listening to juggalo party.  okay, sure, its a lil weird.  all yall complaining about the sound, now you know how i felt when i first heard another love song.

  awfully paranoid, arent you?

I feel ya. I mean my mind goes right towards the mythology and how it’s built.

You’re right though, we can interpret the albums in a lot of different ways to find comparisons with each other because they’re created by the same artists and they function, essentially, for the same reason.

I mostly agree with the external and internal idea.

I agree 100% that the cards are not preconceived so meticulously. It makes for great conversations, though.

Still waiting on that scrapped mega track they planned way back when, where they have every guest artist they ever worked with on one track. Real Underground Baby 2: Ultra Mega Super Friend Mixxx! From PJB to Kreayshawn.

I truly like Otis’ beats, mixes, arrangements, even the choruses. But the biggest problem I have is that I know I would like it all better if. J was doijg those autotuned choruses.
