Muslims in america mostly vote republican. You gotta recognize, mostly, their religious system is conservative. Same tends to be true for latinx immigrants. I mean, look at florida, texas, arizona, new mexico.  All states that have a strong latinx community which are solidly right wing.

Donald trump campaigned on anti muslim terror so yeah maybe they we’re super eager to vote for him. But look historically at muslim communities and you’ll recognize there’s long been a striving towards general social conservatism. There’s a lot of lip service paid outwardly towards multiculturalism but it is usually in response to claims of extremism. Like the dude who shot up the nightclub in FL was super homophobic and his father was like “how could my son be so anti gay this isn’t islam” but also has a strong history of homophobia that was discovered on the internet.

And again, this is talking around the various nuances in the muslim voting block. Like Al Gore had a jewish VP so that certainly didn’t help him with a large portion of the muslim community, and Bill Clinton sided with Israel in conflict against other muslim nations which also hurt him.

but you gotta realize, conservative muslims have more in common with conservative christians than they do with the scariest of all boogiemen, “the left”.

Like if Islamic militants were showing up to protest against gay rights, antifa would be there to stop them. 

It’s also important to look at a differences between black muslims and muslims from the middle east, because black people tend towards democratic support.
