I think it’s more “American” or “Modern First World” than it is “Christian”. Their version of God could easily be understood as Allah, YHWH, Brahman/Atman, the dao/Tao or any other representation of The Omnipresent Force By Which This World Was Created.
I honestly believe my experience of death will model the Dark Carnival metaphor, because I’ve come to believe that one’s experience of reality is entirely dependent upon their perception of it, and the Dark Carnival is what fits my perception. It’s not more or less “real” than anything else, it’s just the way I view it.
LTB, you answered my question perfectly well and I understand why ninjas is giving it up to you all the time on here. Not to say that my opinion matters or carries any weight, but I’m just sayin, you’ve got my respect brother, and I think it’s incredible that Miracles is what brought you in. We always loved those songs like Pass Me By, Joke Ya Mind, Nothing’s Left and all that but at least for me, when I was a kid, those songs were sort of “just for me”, not the kind of shit I played for outsiders to show them what ICP was like. Almost like we/I was a little ashamed of that kind of honesty. I knew how the world would perceive Miracles, but I was glad when they did it and it got the reaction it did because I knew there were kids out there seeing it and going “Fuck the bullshit, this is awesome. Giraffes and stars and magnets and shit really ARE amazing, even if we can explain them. I’m not gonna take that shit for granted anymore”.

That’s a nice take on it. I’ve always viewed it as non-denominational but it has a very “Western/Contemporary” vibe to it. J’s also mentions how his mom holds the bible in high regard.
LTB, that’s cool as hell man. I only knew the video from Big Money Rustlas when my friend gave me a copy as a gift. I loved that song so much when I heard it on B!P!B! that I was hurt when I finally got the internet and seen how some people made a mockery of it. I’m glad that’s what brought you into the juggalo world, we need more good representatives like you man.

@Stalkz thanks man, and yea that’s still how I feel about miracles. Just cus I love its message (i’ll admit, even I think the song is whack compared to ICP classics, it’s just the meaning is so heavy that I love it) doesn’t mean ‘outsiders’ will. So you put it best as a ‘just for me’ song. I never introduce people to ICP with miracles. They won’t get it, except my brother who is years beyond his age. Miracles has been, and remains his favorite ICP song. He’s more a Twiztid juggalo but that’s beside the point.
@demented-smoka thank you as well, keep that in mind and use me as an example next time some late 20’s to 30 something juggalo decides to post a 2 paragraph rant on how lo’s my age are ruining everything.

In regard to what both of you said about Miracles; People are supposed to hate and make fun of ICP. For me that’s half the reason for liking them. Whether it’s because they’re puerile violent sexual deviants or because they’re lame corny dorks doesn’t matter to me.
@demented-smoka I’d agree that the God of the Carnival is definitely an Urban/Suburban/Americanized God. In the same way Hiphop is a South Bronx/American Ghetto oriented Cultural Movement, the Dark Carnival is definitely a Religion of The Ghetto, and Juggalos an off-shoot of American/African Hiphop Kulture, akin in my eyes to Afrika Bambaataa’s Zulu Nation.

I am gonna be 100% honest. I actually enjoyed miracles, then the video ruined it for me I can still listen to it, but I just can’t picture the CGI stuff. They played that out fast.
On a different note, in my Modern Familiar Essay (basically creative non-fiction) class, I wrote an essay called “I Believe in ‘Miracles'” defending the love for everyday occurrences and got an A on it! My professor even asked if she could use it as an example to later classes haha. I know it’s not really a big deal, but it made me feel good god dammit!

The little big homie is the truth. He literally lets me get back into my own head 10 plus years ago and remember how fresh it was to delve deep into the lore and the actual message of the music. I’ve always said I will take all the miracles hate there is, if it meant one kid that needed to find his spot in the family, managed to do so. LTB is that kid apparently.

I think there’s a good few non-juggalos with the misconception that we all do actually worship ICP and/or the dark carnival religiously. You missed the 90’s then. A majority of stupid juggalos hold on to every nut hair Joe and Joey have for everything they say.
Yeah, I did miss out on the 90’s juggalo scene, what with being in like second grade when Jeckel Bros. dropped.
I’m basically just here for the music. The dark carnival mythos is interesting, yeah, but people shouldn’t take clowns too seriously.
