Ah ok. I remember that line just didn't think of much about it and after this album not sure I'd see that as a diss unless it was a little more aimed. He says shit like this all throughout Gutterwater.
I was surprised how much I dug Gutterwater. I'm not a huge fan of this style of rap, but the flavor he puts on it and the grimeyness of the album really got me. With that being said, I'm going with the general consensus of that ICP verse was fucking poop. He has A LOT of good lines.

Way to contribute to the album thread lol

Sid Jones. Really.
I never trusted people who referred to themselves in the third person.
The dude Ouija could be Pansexual, it still would not take away from the greatness of this album. He would probably spin that shit and sell more because of it. I don't think this kid could even catch an L at this point.
"When Sid Jones gets tickets, Sid Jones puts them up on a wall..."
Sigh.

Oujia could be a raging faggot who literally takes dudes out of the crowd to suck their dick on stage during the middle of his set and I wouldn't give a single fuck.
is his music good? thats all that fuckin' matters.

Marilyn Manson used to do shit like that without it being detrimental to his popularity

Maybe I'll get to it. I still got a @jiffylong project too. Actually, I still haven't listened to the second FLH mixtape.
Skip my songs on the tape. I literally just started rapping on that. “Lost” Soul Music is actually listenable. Get Da Ball Rollin’ on the other hand... no. Scrubb got the best song on that tape in my opinion with that Curbstomp.
Gutterwater is the shit tho, fuckin Urinal and Bear Hands stuck out to me.

So Chuck Reeves is on his little show talking about the Gutterwater record is in a state of delay because of "Parallel Thinking".
Translation being it isn't a manufacturing issue like Psy is saying, but actually a legal issue for one of three reasons delaying the bundles from being shipped out.
1) The album cover's similarities to the Nirvana cover.
2) The name Gutterwater already being used as the title by Alchemist.
3) The Finger Eleven sample being uncleared by Deveroux.
I usually dismiss speculation like this, but the last one seems to have some legs to it. He reached out to Deveroux to get an answer about the sample and got no response. People were in his chat saying Finger Eleven stated they never authorised the clearance.
So, they would have to settle up before releasing what they have now, OR reproduce the album again without any mention of the track "Future Wicced", thus delaying the orders for about another month or so.
What say you all?

Yea yea, but they sold and released it already. Putting it on discs isn't going to get them in any additional trouble.

1. is covered by fair use, as it's a clear parody of the original.
2. is unlikely, a lot of albums from different artists have the same name. there's nothing inherently trademarkable about "gutterwater" as a title.
3. possible, but the album is already up for stream for digital purchase, as Bonesaw said, putting it on physical disc wouldn't be stopped by that that a digital release wouldn't.

I might have to listen to it then. Ouija seemed to get much more hate than Hoodoo an Lyte but is getting a much better reception than either of them ever got.

Okay so I just finished listening to Gutterwater for the fifth or sixth time in it's entirety.
Maybe if I had the actual disc in my garage speakers or the ride, I'd see it differently.
But, it's not horrible.
I just dont love it.
Not my thing.
Some stuff is good.
So, to compare, I am now listening to the Lyte album in it's entirety on YouTube, for the very first time.
Lyte was really good at The Roxy in Denver. I walked in about halfway through his set. He did exceptionally well and expressed much gratitude.
Already, despite him using the "chop" style much more frequently than Ouijja, Lyte is already much clearer-sounding to me.
I've never listened to the Motown Rage, Purple Gang, or MC Breed albums fully, either. Maybe I'll start bumping them soon. I never fully heard Crystal Skull, nor the next one by Hoodoo either. Lots to hear, I guess.
So far this boy from Flint isnt awful. Let's bump on....

If you're going that route, don't let Crystal Skull put you off from checking out Asylum. Crystal Skull is good for what it was (paint by numbers Psy release to promote a new artist), but Asylum blows it out of the water in every way.

That's what I hear. And I've bumped parts of both in the past. Time for a refresher.
Between both albums, give me the 4 tracks I should hear the most

1. The Yard
2. Monster Squad
3. Darkside (I'd recommend watching the video with it because the hook sounds ...eh...questionable? without the context
4. Shadows
