I'm holding my peace for my entire thoughts on the album for at least a few more days, mainly because I got sick of hearing about the album before I e en got a chance to listen go it, and I wanna give it a few more spins.I will say this: ICP's contribution to the album is really, really bad. I was rolling around listening to it with somebody else in the car, and we both start laughing midway through that track. I won't say who said what, but highlights from that banter
"Jesus Fuck its like someone crashed a pickup in the middle of the song!"
"Do you think, when faced with a new, young style, J and Shaggs were just at a loss with what to do and were like 'This works'?"
"Or maybe, if we suck as hard as we possibly can, it makes the new guy just sound awesome by comparison?"
"Maybe they're trolling him. Like, 'We're gonna do it this way. Let's see if he says anything.'"
"It's like the audio equivalent of somebody's drunk uncle photo bombing people at the wedding."

Damn, I thought J and Shaggs put it down on Diamonds. It was verses from them unlike we've ever heard before (technically wise). Can't stay in a bubble. I dug it.
I'm actually glad there's someone out there with the opposite opinion. That's the thing about music, "what might not work for some" and so forth.
Final thoughts:
Probably my favorite Psychopathic debut release since Boondox's The Harvest. It certainly rocks in a way that Crystal Skull didn't, and way more consistently at that.
I may have said before that all my digital music gets thrown on one fat playlist, and one of the tests of how much I dig an album is how often I skip the cuts when they come up. I can already tell this is getting more consistent play than the stuff from, say, Year of the Sword. But that was a compilation, so I may be making an unfair comparison.
A (wet) blanket statement I hear from detractors not even willing to give the album a listen is "If I wanted to listen to $uicideBoy$ I'd listen to $uicideBoy$", but honestly, I think that this sounds nothing like what they do, outside of the genre specific similarities. This is definitely Ouija doing what Ouija does, so it *would* be fair to say that these hooks/verses wouldn't be out of place on a SwagToof record, although it still feels conceptually removed from that project, to me at least.
That said, I've said before that I'm not the biggest fan of 'dark trap', and this hasn't made me a true believer. This is probably my favorite of the genre, but that's likely cultivated bias due to the presence of wicked shit/Jugga-pandering. On that topic I say, there is a genuine sense of torch passing because of the presence of not just mere buzzwords, but elements that make up classic Juggalo music: Gonzo humor and attitude. My favorite part of this album as a whole is that its bringing edge and attitude *back* to the music. Not just stock-standard "fuck the world" attitude, but "hey here's my penis and fuck you if you don't like it (you should totally suck it tho)" type attitude.
And I love the overall positive reception the Juggalos have had toward it. Whether true or false, there's a reason that 'psychopathic savior' vibe is getting put out by the general fanbase.
Luccem, I'd also love to hear what your thoughts are on it, since I do consider your opinion closest to objective, not to mention you probably have the greatest comparative range in terms of listening experience (another blanket statement, but deal).
Favorite cuts are Galoshes, Shreddy Krueger, Bear Hands, and that Wizard jawn. I liked his collab with Lyte but it just left me wanting more of that. Urinal is god-tier to me, but this is coming from someone who loves to piss on stuff. Now I got an anthem to do stuff I'm gonna wake up owing apologies for.

Maybe I'll get to it. I still got a @jiffylong project too. Actually, I still haven't listened to the second FLH mixtape.

As someone who rarely enjoys new PSY releases, shit haven’t had a single good one to speak on in YEARS, I was flat out blown away at how much I enjoyed this album. I literally listened to it expecting to laugh at how bad it was (that’s how it usually goes these days) and found myself going hmm...this is left field but it bumps like no tomorrow in my whip wit my system and brings a refreshing sound to the genre, certainly cannot call this generic, and as I have said many times before, I appreciate an original style more then anything, he came hard wit it !! Haters gonna hate

This is my third night of listening to the album in full.
So far I can't say much about it. I'm trying so hard lol. Should I have to? Should i rather spend my time playing Motown or Neil Degrasse Tyson chats?
I'm not giving up. Nothing has HIT me yet with this album.

That ICP verse makes me cringe, but I kinda still like it. It sounds absolutely fucking ridiculous, but it still manages to be entertaining to me for whatever reason. Chips stacked up like some Pringles.

I gata say im disappointed with the album, i had really high hopes from his verse in the Juggalo love psypher, but listening to it i could only get through half of each song before i needed to skip. With the blown out bass, over use of high hats as the beat, him saying "hold up" in the background through out every song, and how the beat takes over the lyrics i cant get behind it. I dont hate the guy or Psy signing him, the album just wasnt my of style/production.

Shaggy's "do you, man" adlib was pretty great and once they pick up the pace and start actually trying later on in the verse they sounded much better and more natural...J's "If We Were A Gang" verse was perfect...hell even 6 Ft 7 Ft he flowed pretty well over so idk why he feels the need to go extra with it like on this song when a simpler flow would have sufficed with the type of song it was

"Like..WHAT bitch......you got somthin ta say! I'm Violent J bitch" poor Ouija says *head down "Nah, man....its good....its all good"
That has GOT to be the worst fuckin feature of all time.....like worse than ODB's on Bitches..

After listening to it prolly 4-5 times all the way thru now. Thee only thing I'd say, is gimme ONE more "bare hands" kinda track, while taking out something like "Shreddy Kruger" then It'd be a perfect balance. And no more money talk....I hate that shit. I get the new wave, I like some of it. Understand what PSY did........got the OG's bouncin!!! I feel that shit.
I was like awwww shit Shreddy Kruger is next!......and I received MEEEHHH...NOOOO! haha its a skipper for me all day.
Still tho 8.75 / 10

Yes! When reading the initial track names of the album I was like,
"Aaaaaaw Shit, Shreddy Kruger. This gonna be on some murder spree type stuff."
The album drops...
We moving along just fine...
Astari...um...OK....ya, ya, Ooof....
Then the rolling horn patterns of Shreddy Kruger start and I'm like...
[Image Can Not Be Found]I skip this song and Astari. Astari has some great lyrics but that "Oof" shits not for me FAM.
When the ICP verse came on diamonds I literally could not understand what I was listening to. Now I get it, and like a previous post mentioned, if they would have done the singing thing better it would have been epic. Why miss an opportunity to appeal to newer fans with some bullshit like that?
Or was it the ultimate troll on ouija?

Not gonna do a full review, I'll just say this album completely met my expectations and lived up to the hype. Props to Ouija & PSY for bringing this project full circle. Hopefully it's met with great reception and sales figures from all juggalos new and old. Hopefully this provides PSY a much needed revamp as far as artistic direction, production, and promotion goes.
I feel Gutter Water is the strongest solo release since Chainsmoker/Phatso. Favorite tracks are:
Galoshes
Diamonds
Bear Hands
Astari
Urinal
