Having come into this kinda music in mid 2005 i have no nostalgia for the first deck. Having said that i still respect the shit of of all the music that came out before hell's Pit. The First time the clowns were played around the people i hang out with was The Amazing Jeckle Brothers so for that album i hold it in very high regards but i cant stand The Carnival of Carnage> No Matter how menny listens listens there is not one time i was played straight thru. It was The Same way with ringmaster for the longest time but it grue on me. I have love for the OG 6 Cards but would rather have any of the new deck played instead. From looking all over the internet and watching a tun of youtube videos its clear that im in the minority with this vew. Having The Calm Be the first cd that i could go out and bump when it was "the New Shit" That Ep is one of the Best ICP ever put out witch is far from what most others think. The Tempist is top 3 that icp has ever put out from beats to rimes and BPB TMDP are classics to me with almost no songs i skip regularly. Starting to feel like im one of the only Juggalos out there that thinks this way.
The Missing link (Lost) was a good LP but i Coulden't Stand the Beats Picked for it. The tracks seemed to drag on with no reftrances to the album its self or older cards witch most new ones don't do but it was kinda a let down. After The Single Vomit the album was looking like it was going to be in the vain of Riddle Box But with an updated sound witch go me hype for it only to be let down by the more COC feel. With that in mind Missing Link (Found) Seems like it Will be going back to the sound that has become more common. Im hoping for that on Found but it seems like im the only one. Is there other Lo's out there that like the New Sound better? of is it just me.

I started listening in 2010. For me most bands older material is better than the new. But most of the time it's two completely different sounds. I try not to judge the new stuff based off what the old sounds like. The first ICP song I ever heard was Yellow Bus. Most people that have been listening for a long time are used to what an artist sounded like back in the day. Then when something different/new comes out, they compare it to what they've heard. Thus disliking it most of the time. When The Garcia Brothers came out I was so hooked on God's Hand that when I heard it I was like what the fuck. I know most people dislike their old stuff but love the new. Otis lacks the anger in his voice he used to have.. Ya know? But as far as ICP goes, I like the new stuff. Probably because the first songs I heard from them were post OG 6.

I guess it really just depends on your taste, its hard to say. I for one have been a fan of Psychopathic since 1995 so I am a old school fan BUT I still enjoy the new music. There are some new albums I don't like and there are some old albums that I don't like. Everybody is different. It does not make you or anyone else less of a "Juggalo" because of how long you have been down or what you do or dont like. I don't call myself a Juggalo because I think the name has totally been stripped away from what it used to be you know what I mean? These days it is almost embarrassing to say I am a Juggalo because of what these new generation kids have done to the name, I don't know, maybe its just me lol...

This is EXACTLY how I feel because you are 100% correct and I am proof of that lol, when something new comes out, I look for the old sound knowing that I wont ever hear that sound again because times have changed, but thats ok because like I said, I like the new shit and the old shit.

And when you do like the newer things you hear. That's pretty rad because it keeps coming. I'm pumped as hell for Found.

There is no "better" or "worse". Taste is impossible to gauge. I have been down since I heard "The Joker's Wild" in a trailer in upstate NY back in like 1997. But I still am.intrigued and entertained by lots of the newer releases. Different eras provide different vibes, is all. "Southwest Song" is dope when you want it, "Crop Circles" is dope when you want it, and "Apocalypse" is dope when you want it. Different eras, different vibes.

That's not true. I been down since a little after riddlebox got released BUT my first actual show was Shangrila. I hate COC & Ringmaster but love every other card. The new 6 aren't horribly bad, but I wouldn't compare them to the original 6... ever.
I could probably take a couple tracks off all 3 albums and compile a disc to be the "first jokers card of the 2nd deck" and IMO that's how it should sound but that's me. But for what we have as a 2nd deck, I don't absolutely hate it, nor do I love it. I think the worst is the death pop IMO. I kind of hate how music has gone the last couple of years personally. I would love for it to get back to the late 90's / early 2000's but doubt that will happen. Thats' not even just with ICP it's with everything even rock music.

lol i think death pop is one of their best albums ever. I rank it as high as milenko. It's so well put together, conceptually. I just eat it the fuck up.
And ringmaster is dope. CoC has some decent elements and it has a special place in my heart but it's a little too dated sounding. On the death pop bonus cd where they did minds playin tricks on me, and J started a song with 'showed up at your high school prom" i was like FUCK I WANNA HEAR A MODERN RECORDING VERSION OF COC. if they did that, it would be dope as hell. It was brilliant, it just sounds dated as fuck.

As mentioned, its all down to the individual and their tastes. I was hesitant as fuck when they announced a second deck and while it has mostly been retreads of some form and throwbacks it hasn't exactly been devoid of music that gets me excited.
The original six will always be more "special" for being the originals - simple as that, really. When the concept for six jokers cards of the dark carnival was formed, it was fresh as hell. Many jumped ship after Shangri-La of course, so it doesnt really suprise me that the cyclical nature of Juggalos has young'uns such as yourself feeling the new deck more. Its what you're reared on, for lack of a better term.
Being from the UK and the age I am, my exposure to ICP was mostly via pro-wrestling and seeing Great Milenko sat in almost every other older kids house at some point. I remember hating it at first, which is why I put AJB down as the one that "converted" me, if you will. Just worked out nicely from there with me having to save and spend every spare penny I could muster on HMV's bullshit "imports" fees just to get a Psychopathic fix. Now with the internet and what not, I am mildly envious of you newbies as its practically all there in front of you. Gone are the days of scanning the "Pop" or "Metal" (seriously) sections for ICP only to be ht with a £18 price tag.
Having the world unfold simply through the music that was already of limited availability with even less fans to converse with (until I discovered UKJ, HOI, etc) made the whole family vibe more real without even needing to chant it (seriously I barely remember anyone chanting "family" for years - when did that start?). It just was. There was a magic and now a nostalgia.
Which is why for people like me it'll always be difficult to compare and contrast without a slight nostalgic bias. Reality is, in terms of the music as is; some aint gonna like the newer stuff, some are - it's really two sides of the same coin, blown up bigger than it needs to be through the personal history the individual carries. No one has any true right to say you're wrong with those opinions, they can debate, sure; but taste is taste at the end of the day.
And fuck me, if we all listened to what others said as gospel NONE of us would have any sort of affinity we do with 'The Worlds Most Hated Band'.

i started listening circa 1998ish, so this thread offends me... because im old n shit.
but seriously. i agree it varies person to person. i thought bpb was decent, MDP was pretty good and MML wasnt terrible.
i just copped house of wax tho.. wow, that is the best thing ive heard out of icp in...... i cant remember. 10+ years easily. i was cranking it out while cleaning my car and now its more or less on non stop rotation. 14/10 easily.
but back on target. COC is my youth. hands down. milenko was teh first album i heard by icp (the 'dating' game of course hahaha) but COC was the first album i picked up for myself. i jammed that cd until it basically fell to pieces like 15 years later.
i was never a HUGE riddlebox/ringmaster fan, but i do love them.
but icp are proressing in a different way now and i like that too. its hard to compare both sets, they both have their gold (bazooka joey anyone?).

Everybodys different. The era I discovered ICP was around Milenko, but the first album I heard was Ringmaster. All of ICP albums hold a special place to me. When I listen to COC to Shangri La I'm reminded of my younger times and high school, a happier simpler time for me. This new era is fresh and so far out of the new deck MDP is my shit (just my opinion). I hear people say they want another riddle box or a Milenko type vibe. I don't want that because we already have those albums. Let ICP do ICP. If you don't like that one record they put out, then hey listen to one you do like because as of 2015, the clowns got a pretty decent size catalogue under them.

In my opinion I don't think there can be a better era than the first 6. I started listening somewhere in 2003 I think. It was after Shangri-La, but before Hell's Pit. The first song I ever heard from ICP was Thy Unveiling. Some people will probably argue that the era of the first 6 was before my time, but I picture the two eras being divided somewhere between The Tempest and Jugganauts.
There was just something about the whole feeling back then that I have yet to feel again. I guess it could be that Twiztid and Blaze were still with Psychopathic and everything just felt closer. Or that it was a time in my life that I wish I could experience again.
For the music itself I personally enjoy the first 6 era music over the new era. The stuff back then just felt newer and fresher (probably because it was). I'm not saying the new stuff doesn't feel new, because it does, but its a different kind of new. For example, my favorite card of the new 3 so far is Bang! Pow! Boom!. I really feel like its about as good as a new Joker's Card that they could have made, but I still don't rank it higher than any of the first 6. In my opinion it is far better than The Mighty Death Pop! though. To me TMDP feels more like a Forgotten Freshness than it does a Joker's Card (the songs don't seem to fit together for some reason). And I like The Marvelous Missing Link: Lost and I am really looking forward to Found, but again its just not the same and its pretty difficult to describe what it is. I don't expect the new stuff to sound or feel like the old stuff so I just try to enjoy it for what it is.
