I can’t remember her name but that’s a good question. I wouldn’t question for a second whether he helped her out or not if he did. He seemed sincerely sorry for using her

when i first got Behind the paint i skipped STRAIGHT to the rap career part

but now I’ve started reading it from the start and I’m up to the COC era and it seems like J was finally starting to be a responsible adult lol

I once had a friend of mine who gave me shit for having J’s book. The usual “how typical of you-did you buy their thongs too?” bullshit. I eventually convinced her to read the fucking thing and she stopped giving me shit. The writing isn’t the best but the stories and emotions inside of Behind the Paint is really solid.

the writing is pretty good, but reading it (like the music) just gives such great visuals. I think im gonna go back and read mine, i havent read it since it came out

There was most definitely a ghost writer but it definitely captured J’s ability to paint a picture. I read it again maybe two years ago and it made me want a part two pretty damned bad. I would love to hear unfiltered J talk about the Miracles thing, all the press coverage they had as a result and obviously the Twiztid situation.

I remember in a interview he said most of it was written, he just doesnt know where to end it. Hopefully it comes out before the end of next year.

Violent J probably won’t be so positive about Esham and Twiztid like he was in 2003

but just imagine all the cool ass stories that he’d have in a part 2.

J can also stop pretending that the ROC was a “weak link” in HOK – i fucking hated how he always said he got the 2 better rappers in HOK.  Nobody in the world could listen to an HOK album and think the ROC was anything but 1st or 2nd with Mr. Bones.  even Mono himself would admit that.  lol

@yakkattack It would make sense if he’s waiting till right before the second 6th but I really hope that isn’t what he’s doing.

@cat-burgerler Yeah, Hektic was clearly the other guy in HOK. I would say Bones was the front runner there. Some of the Bones solo stuff still holds up now. Madrox, in my opinion, is one of those artists that has gotten worse over the years.

it is, but its a little bit better than the rest. I mean most wont care about this (or anything that could be said) but its a better question than the ones we have gotten so far

Just wait for the next book and I’m sure he will say. Or ask him when you see him at the gathering sometime.
