I love Dark Lotus' first CD. Deff a top 10 all time. I can never figure out if i like the marz version or the abk version better.
What do u guys think?

dude, Lotus is tha mecca of PSY. Tales From Tha Lotus Pod is deffinently my favorite cd by those cats. i like tha super dark shit like Black Magik and Black Crows. and i prefer only 5 petals but if I had to choose, ABK definently. though i do dig Mars occasionaly.

Yeah....Tales from the Lotus Pod is a strong contender for being my favourite album of all time. I actually think it's perfect and every lyric and every beat is forever etched in my memory.
I have to say that I strongly prefer the Marz version but that's only because I got the album when it came out and bumped the shit out of it for months so when I finally got around to buying 'Revisited' it just sounded kind of...unnatural to me. Strange coz other than that I dig the shit out of ABK and never really dug Marz's music.

Pretty much exactly my thoughts on it too. I played the shit out of it every day. Lost it somewhere down the road and when I got the revisited version every time ABK started to rap I couldn't get Marz's verse out of my head cause like you said, it was etched in my memory as well.
Still in my top 5 psychopathic releases regardless of which version it is.

same with me on all of that huge abk fan never dug marz's shit.. i bought the album in '01 & didnt hear the abk version til like 09 or 2010 & although i am used to the marz version more abk's lyrics just werent impressive to me.. the only song i prefer abk on more is juggalo family cuz he stayed on topic while marz just rapped about the group.. & imo and we danced & gimme dat blood dont really fit on the album.. those are 2 tracks i wouldve left off.. still tho agree that album will always be in both my top 10 fav & best psy albums

it is the darkest & most nostalgic for me but i feel the main opaque album was overall better.. thats not including the bonus songs tho if including the bonus songs then opaque's the worst lotus album haha i just wasnt diggin 3 of the 4 tracks which is more than any other lotus album haha

I really liked gimmie that blood. It kinna stupid, and definitly out of place on the album but thats part of why I liked it. After these really dark songs I get those first few notes of that goofy ass beat it just totally switches gears and slaps a stupid smile on my face while jammin out n everyone else in the car is scared I'm gonna wrap my car around a tree!

Yeah me too....the goofy tracks break it up with a bit of humour. Black Rain suffered a little with the tracks being slightly samey, Gotta agree about The Opaque Brotherhood though....I'm digging the shit out of it. I only got around to checking it out recently because I was put off by the relative dissapointment of Black Rain but it's a seriously great album; really consistent throughout (although I've got the version without bonus tracks).

yeah dude Opaque Brotherhood is so fuckin dark i cant really call some of those songs rap(ina good way). actually, Black Rain was how I got into tha wicked shit. i just like Lotus Pod tha most because of how it ties into tha whole mythology of PSY. its like a prelude to tha Wraith. you have yer Shangri-La Songs(Ali-ba-ba,Juggalo Family,Bad Rep) then you have yer Hells Pit Songs(Black Magik,Something,Headache). or mabye i just put too much thought into it.lol. i obssesed over Lotus really. I just had to find out what ICP and Twiztid had to do with Pyramids,Ankor Wat and tha Terracotta Army.

Haha....I've zoned out stoned to Dark Lotus waaaay too many times myself. It's absorbing stuff.

Lotus is the shit. Black Rain was the weakest of the 3 albums they put out. Tales From The Lotus Pod was the shit and Dark Brotherhood is my favorite. Much more darker. One of my friends who is kinda into all of Psy didn't even know that it was actually ICP and Twiztid and Blaze on Lotus. Told me they all sounded familiar. Then to throw him in a loop I told him they weren't the Rydas. We need a new Lotus.

TFTLP was always my least favorite Lotus release believe it or not. Black Rain will always be in my top 10 PSY releases of all time. I love that fuckin album!

I actually liked Black Rain more then TFTLP myself,I went out and bought it a week after i got out of jail 8 yrs ago,I didnt even know it came out til i saw my homie on the bus who told me about it.It definitly took time to grow on me with the album but i love that lotus cd the most.Opaque Brotherhood had a few good tracks "Can you keep a secret", "Backwords","Keep up" "Follow" and "Falling" are the only tracks i listen to.But for TFTLP and TFTLP(gold) its gotta be marz,ABK just didnt sound right on TFTLP.Im real Anxious to hear how the new Lotus will sound.Everyones pretty much been on point this year.ICP and Twiztid both came with amazing albums,A new lotus would be devastating.

Yeah they said 2 Gatherings ago that there would be a new Lotus, but Death Pop came out, so I don't know. Maybe the 21st of December it'll drop like a bomb.

TFTLP is my favorite psy release.I like mars and abk versions the about same .I think they will relese Lotus next year cuz I talked to J last year at americanpsyco he said new Lotus would be out this year,so my guess they release it at the gathering next year.Hopefully.
