So get it all off your chest, controversial opinions no limits

Here it goes

– Lost has been a fresh new sound and style for ICP its something different yet retains the essence of ICP.

– The Tempest and The Calm were the creative highlight for ICP and its thanks in part to their willingness to separate from the Dark Carnival mythos.

-Twiztid are 100% better rappers and tracks like “No breaks” from The Darkness highlight how lyrically above ICP and any other Psychopathic artists they are.

– Phantom, House of Wax and Lost and Found are some of the best albums ICP has released in years.

I don’t think twiztid being better lyrically is “controversial.” That’s pretty obvious. Music is more than lyrics, though.

House of Wax and Phantom are great, and like 3 songs from found.

I disagree with all of these, so good choice of topics. The closest I come is a combination of part of the last one and the first one, which would be that Phantom is a fresh new sound and style yet retains the essence of ICP. I’d even disagree that Twiztid are better rappers, but that kinda just comes down to the semantics of how one defines “better rapper.” Which I won’t.

Fucking Drake is probably “a better rapper” than ICP, doesn’t mean I give a shit. ICP have much more appeal.

I disagree. I feel like one could argue, with some success, that Violent J is one of the greatest story tellers in all of hip hop.

No. Yes he’s good at story telling but his lyricism falls short especially when his rhymes are simplistic children’s book rhyming.

Eminem keeps a larger vocabulary and complex rhyme scheme and still tells great stories. Stan is probably one of the best hip hop songs of all time not just because of how well the story told but what the story represents.

Tech N9ne is a great story teller with very complex rhyme schemes.

Kendrick Lamar is a great story teller.

Lupe Fiasco is phenomenal.

I think there are enough better story tellers out there that I wouldn’t name him as one of the best.

He’s my favorite rap character.

Violent J that is.

I think that’s the best way to describe it.

I I like the imagery he uses and the blend of serious/funny violence/humor.

Well put sir

More of “my opinions are different than most” than ‘controversial’.

Found is def the best ICP album in years.

twiztid is def more lyrical, but I still find ICP much more appealing.

I can agree on some of your points

I stand behind my statement. Something does not need to be complex to be good. I would rather to listen to J tell a story than Tech N9ne any day. Ernest Hemmingway used very simple, direct language, and yet his stories are considered “great.”

I like a lot of Violent J’s stories. I guess I’d put Falling Apart up there with great story telling tracks.

Under The Moon comes to mind too.

Under The Moon

Prom Queen

Out

Cemetery Girl

Toy Box

Mad Professor

Mr Johnson’s Head

Play With Me

In My Room

Vera Lee

Angel’s Falling

The Tower

His verse from Put it Down is great.

Where J really shines is the ability to portray the emotions and thoughts of the “character” he is rapping as. I’m sure there is a specific word for that, but I can’t think of it for the life of me. This is where his genius is.

Controversial, huh? How about the fact that while Twiztid released “The Darkness” ICP essentially released an album they could’ve called “The Lightness” with accuracy. The most positive album in their 20+ year history? Coincidence… or is complete and utter BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEF! Perhaps an indirect and subtle slap in the mouth.

Perhaps they are beginning to take responsibility for their cult like following and provide a more stable and positive influence. Maybe they felt the juggalos have heard enough anger and hatred from them over the years and know how detrimental it can be on young minds? I am in favor of it as long as they keep dropping the wicked shit somewhere along the line with it.. which is ultimately the reason I’m a fairly diehard juggalo in the first place.

Eminem, the legend ICP will never be because they can’t actually make an album with out referencing their own genitalia in a very violent vulgar spoof of Dr. Suess books.

Even though I know this is just another tantrum thrown at Twiztid I have to say this. Twiztid is much more real, raw and relatable than anything ICP has put out recently. It’s deeper and much more true to the fans than the shit ICP puts out. The dark shit was meant to be a therapy to help release some of the darkness that lives with in us as well as show us that we aren’t the only ones going through these things. The anger and hatred displayed in the music was always a release, a way for the youth as well as the old to embrace their darker emotions in a safe way rather than holding them in until the point of implosion. Even then, I too am for artists trying to send a positive message and give something to the listener, but what exactly did ICP give me? Some corny ass regurgitated after school church special telling me that every thing is going to be okay. That’s basically it. It’s, “hey find your missing link, which is probably Jesus, and everything will be okay. Yeah, life gets rough, but times change and things will get better!” I could ultimately summarize that whole album with a meme.

A-List-of-27-Uplifting-Quotes-to-Make-You-Stronger-21.jpgImage Enlarger

.

See, that’s Missing Link Found, guys. The worst part of it is that it’s not actually saying anything that’s really going to uplift anybody being as instead of applying uplifting information it’s more or less one long inspirational quote. It makes no mention of over coming the oppression we face, nothing about how to make a real change in our communities nor does it give an insightful look on how we can change our selves it’s just find god and you’re set. And that song about the hooker was just straight fucked up. Nothing was uplifting about that song. It spits in the face of drug addicts, it does not uplift them. It spits in the face of prostitutes stuck in an abusive relationship with their pimps, it does not uplift them. When I want uplifting music that I feel I can grow and learn from I will not go to ICP. Hell, King Gordy has even done what you claim this album has done but better. Take Kendrick Lamar, Lupe Fiasco, Joey Bada$$, Common, all artists that really inspire development. Compare it to this, the album that drives religion, sex and materialism down our throats. That has equated money, cars and girls to heaven and said that only through god shall I get there. It’s a very irresponsible message. In no way do I think they are steering juggalos towards a better path, it’s just telling them how lost they are if they are not happy.

This is really a rant of how I felt after hearing the album. A facsimile of a concept they have already done in a much more generic way than ever with the attempt at being something spiritual or uplifting to juggalos but it really falls really short because the only juggalos it really inspired were those that already had that mentality in the first place. You’re hyperbole shit that I should normally just dismiss was just a gate way to me letting how I feel about this Christian pop album out.

you just hate because it mentions god…your an atheist or a satanist (i know we’ve had this convo on here but i do not remember for sure so please don’t explode on me) so if somebody tells you to find god, you whip your dick out and start smacking people in the face with it while screaming like a monkey being ainally rapped. f-u
