Personally, I can’t wait until this becomes standard procedure at every venue. Cell phones, good riddance!   

I feel the opposite. I don’t know why people hate other people using cell phones. They ain’t hurting you. And cellphones have made concert photography less commercially viable so the assholes with big cameras standing in front aren’t as common.

@ubi Why? Capitalism 101. Supply and demand. They want a high demand, low supply. If they toured it, they would devalue it. The only reason people might actually pay $250 is because of event exclusivity. That’s why. One nights work, maximum payout.   

i dont understand why it needs to be exclusive/expensive, its the only time ICP will perform COC live and supposedly its funding a documentary.

You seem naive how business works. ICP doesn’t walk with 150K or anything near it.

1. Psychopathic pays for the venue

2. They most likely have to give the venue a 10%-30% cut of the tix income

3. ICP has to cover insurance of the building and concert goers

4. ICP has to pay a security and maintenance fee

5. They have to pay employees setting up the show, testing lights, making a track for the show, promoting the show, graphics, etc, etc, etc

Two things I’m thinkin’…

1) A Paintless OG ICP show is something they said would never be done. Not just the whole “Inner City Posse” angle, but PERFORMING without their paint?!? How many stories do they have about the shit they go through (and put others through) to NOT be seen applying or performing without paint?! Limited ticket sales and at a price twice that of a five day Gathering… That would be some SPECIAL shit. Guarantees there’ll only be TRUE down-ass Floobs running around that bitch!

AS LONG AS  this is the “rarity of rarities” and does NOT become a model for ANY event planning in the future… I’m cool with it.

Think about it… how much would you pay to see ZZTop do a ONE NIGHT ONLY ‘BEARDLESS’ show…?!? They have been offered MILLIONS and MILLIONS of dollars of endorsement deals from razor companies and have refused them all… but if they decided to do ONE SHOW without the beards and only 600 people were ever gonna be able to see it…? Those tickets sure as fuck wouldn’t cost no $260!!!

2) Now… if they REALLY wanted to be sneaky and clever about it… they could invest in getting some clothes made with that new “anti-paparazzi” threads. Ya know, the stuff that reflects camera lighting back at the lens in such a way that it ruins the whole image/video… All they’d need to do is get some stage or spot lighting that included that type of light and no one would be recording anything worth posting….
