I think I need to give this whole album a re-listen.

I just did earlier tonight. So good. I had completely forgotten about “Party At The Liquor Store” and how dope that track is. “Charlie Brown” is another one I semi-forgot. I know a lot of people don’t dig “Nevehoe”, but I do. ABK and Shaggs make a good combo.

I remember loving ABK for hatchet warrior and dirty history. The latter had just been released when I was getting into the scene heavy. I would have bought anything he released. Unfortunately, it was Road Fools.

How that album/DVD ever got the green light from Psy is fuckin beyond me. Definitely in the running for worst Psy release of all time.

The 2004 Gathering was my first, and Dirty History had just come out.  Damn near every campsite was bumping that shit.  You’d be walking around and constantly be hearing “Hey Y’all” and that chill beat… good times man.

I almost wonder if those who didn’t attend that year can even appreciate Dirty History on the same level as those were there.  Even his performance was legendary.  Easily, the best set I’ve ever seen him do.  Gives me chills just thinking about it.

Experiences like this make me grateful to have the music in my life.  It makes you feel like you’re part of an exclusive club.  This music isn’t for everyone, it was made for a select few… and when you’re in a group of a few thousand who had this magical experience at Crystal Forrest, it becomes even more special.

Another thing that was badass was all of the artists would pop in to do guest verses on during each other’s sets.  In this instance, it was Monoxide who came out to perform “Ghetto Neighbor”.  During Esham’s set, Violent J came out for “Hard Times”.

This should have been a GOTJ tradition.  I mean, why not?  The artists were all there.  It would have made the GOTJ even more special.

Anyway, Dirty History is a masterpiece.  Solid from front to back.  Criminally underrated.  It should be platinum.

I mean, to be technical… Dirty History released a week after the gathering of juggalos 2004 unless you could get it ahead of time there… Gathering was from July 15th-July 19th 2004 and Dirty History dropped July 27th. I wasnt there but I dont know how people had the album if thats the case.

See that Blahzay album or that 9 pistolas crap for your answer. PSY has had a few “wtf” moments over the years. Unfortunately I only see more on the horizon.

Dirty History was indeed available for early purchase at the 2004 GOTJ.  Sorry about the confusion.

That was one of the first times they did that.  It must have worked out well, because they’ve done it numerous times since then, like last year when they did it for Found.
