I just smoked a blunt with my wife and popped in dirty history for the first time in at least 5 years and its still dope. It does matta, laugh at you, hey yall, Charlie brown all abk classics. So in this time of turmoil in the juggalo world I just wanna give props to abk for making such a dope album. Been bumping it since my senior year in highschool haha..no matter how much the fan base splits or doesn’t split I still think we ALL should give props and respect to the classics and appreciate them.

Dirty History is one of my favorites albums to smoke up to. I don’t remember how many times I broke up some bud on the back of the CD case, preparing a fine bowl. This album is amazing to listen to stoned.
“Trees and Woods” is that ultimate trip shit for me. That song totally puts me into a trance.

It’s a very solid disc. A couple weak spots, but ah well.
Tried to find the track listing on Wikipedia but it’s wrong… anyway, other than Nevehoe and maybe Retaliate, that album is pretty damn good.
smoked some Headband then half a joint of Orange Jack caviar.
Hey Ya’ll is, to me, one of the most accessible Psychopathic tracks ever. Watching the video along with it is a cool experience. I believe The ROC did the track.

my homie lol… you just reminded me of two quick stories…
you broke out weed on back of Dirty History… we were breaking out molly on top of the A-1 Yola album lol… so gratuitous but it was funny at the time.

the final GOTJ we attended was 2004, Ohio woods.. my brother was tripping his face off on acid, he kept wandering around in circles, always ending up back at these certain sites of Juggalos lol… one group kept giving him free coke… he said he kept hearing “Tree and Woods” over and over and wasn’t sure if it was being played by some crew on repeat or in his head.

Yeah I mean, the song has a way of staying with you after you hear it. It’s very haunting. Always been one of my favorites.

I bought both Hatchet Warrior and Dirty History again a year or 2 ago. Started listening to both of those records a lot, because i sort of re-discovered them.
In my memories Hatchet Warrior was the better one, but when i listen to both of them now, i realize that Dirty History is the better one. It could be because of the fact that Hatchet Warrior was a project they wanted to release asap, and Dirty History was the record he always wanted to make.
favorite tracks: Bombs on you, Hey yall, Retaliate, Laugh at you, Put my life on it, Cant help it and 2 whom this may concern.
The reason i chose all of those three last tracks is because they are all great songs, but they also make for a solid last part of the record! they blend together in an awesome way.

Damn.. I always really appreciated R.O.C. as a producer, but I didn’t know he was behind one of my all time favorite Psychopathic beats. That track was also the one that made me realize how great ABK can be. Sadly he didn’t do many other tracks that reached this level.
Anyways, just got done listening to the Zodiac Mprint EP. “Into The Cosmos” and “What’s Yo Sign” (from The R.O.C. vesion of the album) also feature 2 great R.O.C. beats.

I agree that he doesn’t often reach this level of appeal. He sounds passionate and driven in this track.
Some of my favorites by him that I can remember are Warrior, Kill Me, Hey Yall, Last Chance, Medicine Bag… I need to revisit some ABK.

How about “Peace Pipe”? I know it isn’t on Dirty History, but if we’re talking about ABK as a whole, I’d say this one is worthy enough to mentioned among his best.

I also really like “Walk Away” from DJ Clay’s Let ‘Em Bleed Vol. 3 and “Hollowpoint” from Hatchet Warrior.

True, that one’s pretty dope as well. Wasn’t on my radar, though. I think I need to give this whole album a re-listen. I remember when it came out, I didn’t really dig it because I thought it was soft. But now that I’ve matured a bit and realized it doesn’t always have to be wicket, I think I could appreciate it more.

The 2004 Gathering was my first, and Dirty History had just come out. Damn near every campsite was bumping that shit. You’d be walking around and constantly be hearing “Hey Y’all” and that chill beat… good times man.
I almost wonder if those who didn’t attend that year can even appreciate Dirty History on the same level as those were there. Even his performance was legendary. Easily, the best set I’ve ever seen him do. Gives me chills just thinking about it.
Experiences like this make me grateful to have the music in my life. It makes you feel like you’re part of an exclusive club. This music isn’t for everyone, it was made for a select few… and when you’re in a group of a few thousand who had this magical experience at Crystal Forrest, it becomes even more special.
Another thing that was badass was all of the artists would pop in to do guest verses on during each other’s sets. In this instance, it was Monoxide who came out to perform “Ghetto Neighbor”. During Esham’s set, Violent J came out for “Hard Times”.
This should have been a GOTJ tradition. I mean, why not? The artists were all there. It would have made the GOTJ even more special.
Anyway, Dirty History is a masterpiece. Solid from front to back. Criminally underrated. It should be platinum.

2004 was my first gathering aswell, I can still to this day close my eyes and vividly remember walking thru the campgrounds hearing dirty history and Check your shit in bitch…playing Morton’s list with jumpsteady..terry funk vs dusty Rhodes vs rude boy at jcw man those were the golden days..but anyway we gotta keep the classics alive for the new generation of juggalos coming up. We can’t let the masterpieces be forgotten.

I always hated that they often didn’t use the instrumental versions during their live performances, though. They just rapped over their own rapping. How did they ever get away with that?
Also, who is the fourth dude on stage? TNT?
