Dont get me wrong he is/was great but the last few things he done with PSY weren’t the best and its kind of refreshing to get another sound from ICP. Don’t get me wrong I want him to come back but I think the time apart may be good? No? yes?

The best ICP production for me will always be the original six and the ep’s around them. However, I am one of the few who loved the production on Shangri-La by Mike P, and agree that sometimes a change is fun. Kuma is dope to me as well. Life goes on.

I don’t care a whole lot about production styles but I do miss mec in other ways. He seems to have more interesting structuring choices, at least when he’s excited. I don’t hate the beats on lost and the only thing about found that really bugs is the bass is weak.

I hope he comes back soon but I won’t not listen to icp on other people’s beats. I’d love to hear them start working with a wider range of people.

What releases around those times did you really like? BPB was ok to me, and mdp was ok. other then that south of hell was bad, gang rags was bad, the tempest was bad, eye of the storm bad, The shining was meh his remixes on the wraith remix albums meh house of wax was prob his shining moment to me in the last few years. Again this is only my opinion

That is the freshest EP the clowns have ever put out!

You need to go back and listen to it on a proper stereo system I think, one with good speakers.

The first pressing completely sold out on Hatchetgear.

When they paid for a second pressing, they decided to put it into retail stores nationwide!

I bought it just like every other icp cd, I do enjoy a 3 tracks from that cd being, the madness, high rise and thrill of the kill. The other tracks I hate. but again this is only my opinion and if you enjoy the whole ep good for you and im glad you like it. Im sure I like tracks others hate too

except the shit i dont have, all the shit you listed.

eye of the storm is, as miklo just pointed out, the best ep they got [if not terror wheel… close call].

death pop is my favorite lp since the tempest, probably, and they battle each other for favorite of the last decade.

like most of bang pow boom.  absolutely love some of it.

and on and on and yada yada yada etc.

also…  i hated shangrila.  i hate it much less now, but its still real low on my rankings.

hells pit, lost, and found are all filed under ‘about as good as can be expected, given that mike e clark had nothin to do with em’.

And have you enjoyed any stuff icp has done since he left?

outside of the outtakes…  about six, eight songs.  not a lot.

we are still talkin beats here, so, yeah…  less than ten is a decent guess.

Naw lost and found was pretty good I would say with a change up of beats, but lost you hear em on some faster dubstep-ish tracks and it sounds forced where mike e clarks instrumentals are usually a little slower and it seems to flow better, but it worked on Dark Lotus.

But I think that they should finish out the 2nd deck with mec

Mike E. Clark, love his sound. How much of a hand did he have in the production on Kid Rock’s All Summer Long, heard he did a little producing in that. So now when I hear country hicks listen to that, I’m like, “yep, that’s MEC right there, third member of ICP,”.

hey now, Old Man Dangerous enjoys the AJB sounds, in the sense of them being the BIGGEST, CLEANEST sounding arena tracks ever in the Clown’s history. But that doesn’t make them my favorite beats. I love the production overall, but they were admittedly going for that arena chant event sound. Easily sung along with choruses and rock guitar touches. I usually prefer grimy Ringmaster rap beats. Kinda dark and somber. But then again I love the ShangriLa tunes, so go fig.

BangPowBoom is similar to AJB in sound to me. Big, loud, clean. Death Pop was great sounding, but uneven. Listen to “Daisies”. Hard to hear the lyrics at times. Maybe that was the intention.

Just shows how different everyone is. AJB is probably one of my favorite ICP albums.
