I was flipping through my ICP cds and I realized that when I started listening to them part of the whole experience was reading the cd inserts. The description of each card, the puzzles, the thank you's and fuck you's, it was all so awesome. Then when you bumped the album you had the card staring right at you. I felt like I really got to know each card and connected with ICP a lot partially because I had the physical album.
I mean I feel bad for any ninja who hasn't filled out the bizzar/bizaar booklets. They did cool stuff like that with a lot of other icp and twiztid albums but once cds started dying, the booklets became minimal, in part because of the internet too. They did the secret messages in BPB with the decoder in the sampler, but it was all over the web hours after it came out. MDP had ziltch but it was cool as fuck to see a full description of lost and found, also the return of the question mark boxes for the next cards.
Most my old school homies who looked through these booklets with me have more love and respect for icp and juggalos than the ones who have the deck on a shuffle playlist. I think part of understanding and appreciating ICP is going beyond just listening to the albums. Some stuff is dated, but most of it is still fresh to experience when bumping them.
Not dissing the digital age or saying you ain't a juggalo if you don't have the cd's. I'm just wondering what experiences or thought's do ninja's have on this? Would you be as down as you are, either way? Should we encourage new Juggalos to get the joker card cds, or does it not matter? Are you curious about what's in the bizzaar booklets?I?I?I?I?I?I?I?I?I?I?

Tbh i dont think there is one juggalo out there that only has digital downloads. We are juggalos we like to collect shit. And i would have to bet that the new juggalos would buy physical shit to try and create an illusion that they have been down longer than they have.
Either this thread is ahead of its time or you, my sir, have created a troll thread that shouldn't be taken seriously.

This is an interesting line of thought and I know exactly what you are talking about. What I enjoyed about them so much was it gave me insight and perspective into their whole world and mythos. For me, I came in right at the golden age of the internet, so they were still largely a mystery to me. Now we know a shit load more about the both of them and the world they created because of the Internet boon. Kind of takes the magic out of it.
I don't think it's a bad thing though, things are just different now. The world has changed so much in the past 15 years. I have finally given up on physical albums but I will always prefer physical books so I can totally see why you would prefer cd's.
As for the question, I don't think it would change my perspective or how much I love ICP if I came in later, because for me it was always about the music and the stories. The culture and the world around it is just an awesome part of it.
I would love to have that feeling again. The feeling you got discovering all of it for the first time. It was an adventure. It was fucking raw and visceral. Unapologetic. There will NEVER be another group like ICP. There will never be another culture quite like juggalos.
This is special, and people fucking hate juggalos for it. They hate us.
Fuck em. Let em think what they want.
Hmm, kind of went on a ramble there....oops

lol. I'm serious. I know several ninjas who only have downloads, new and old. And Ive seen other homies who buy jerseys and bandanas instead of cds. The fact that you don't believe it's possible does give some proof that it's important to have cds.

I remember the high as well... but still today is better than ever for me. I love knowing the wicked shit as well as I do. When I see ninjas who still don't know the words to hocus pocus, it brings fond memories but I don't want to be in the dark about ICP again.
I fucking love the 2nd deck as well. I get the same feeling with the new shit that I always did. Some don't like where they have taken their sound, but they keep taking passionate risks, trying new things, expanding their music and throwing the faygo rain. I'm down with every era
I went on a rant too....

That's awesome for you dude. I would love to still feel that new feeling when I listen. I want to love everything they put out, so much that I'll keep listening to shit of theirs I don't like hoping it grows on me.
Probably I'm just an aging bitter bastard. I bet generations going back thousands of years think the the generation that comes after then aren't as good and neither is the generation preceding us. We just stick to the shit the grabs us in our formative years.
It's why I still love the original ninja turtles movie even though I'm well aware that it's a terrible flick.
Sometimes some shit transcends generations, which is why last week a 62 year old man had to call 911 because he was stuck in a mud pit in his back yard playing pokemon go at 2 am.

Actually no I do see the merit of this argument and will abstain from trolling on this one. I will also say you have incredibly valid points though Spooky ol Top this thread is a few years early and juggalos will always be collectors whether they are perpetrating or for nostalgia reasons. Its one of the reasons PSY shit has such a huge ebay market.
I am at the point where I will never ever give Psychopathic a dime of my money aside from maybe a shirt here and there and gathering tickets. I have literally bought half a dozen copies of each of the first six, all the between albums, all three Bang Pow Booms, and one Mighty Death Pop which is where I stopped. Its mainly the replacing the first six so many times due to them being stolen/broken etc that led me to this decision. I really enjoyed the booklets though so I see the point to having them.
There is something fresh about putting the entire discography on shuffle though, its so random and fresh what order you get sometimes.
TLDR DO YOU NINJA ITS ALL JUST MUSIC TO BE ENJOYED!!! Also if Bonez Dubb reads this quit rapping and give my ninja Shaman his shirt....or its on motherfako!

True, true...
But another thing to consider as a proponent of physical media is that a *produced* CD (as compared to an MP3 ripped from Youtube 'er some shit) is NOT COMPRESSED!
If everyone wants to cream over the sound from vinyl, people need to understand that MP3s (or 4s wtfever) are NOT the "true" sound of the recording. They're compressed audio. There's a whole range on frequencies MISSING! MP3s (and the like) are essentially simulations of what "they" think you "need" to be hearing when you "listen" to a song. Fuck if you want those deep mid-low sounds of a cello...! As long as you can hear those highs and "sub-bass" noises that rattle yer side panels... yer GOOD!
Self promotion not withstanding... A piece of physical media from a prominent record company is (presumably) supposed to be the "best" version that could have been made for it (these days).

Yep. Opening the booklet was as exciting as listening to the new music itself.
Physical copy all day. Although ordering shit online has taken a lot of that magic away from it.

Gotta have the physical media. I just have to. The case, the booklet, the disc, whatever else. I have an MP3 player for when I go to the gym, or take a long walk, but the songs on it are ripped from the CDs I own. At home though, I don't even fuck with the MP3. I choose a CD I feel like listening to, and play it from start to finish.

I'm an old ass man and still have to have a physical copy. As others have stated, some of it has to do with sound quality. I also like the idea that if aliens come and destroy the Internet I can still bump the music while people who stored their digital copy on the cloud are assed out. The liner notes and all of the secrets they used to put in the books was a huge thing for me. I used to come home from buying the cassette or cd, put it in my breakin' style boom box and immediately start looking through the book trying to decipher it. I am probably in the minority on actually liking the Tempest record but I must say when I cracked open that booklet and saw the cheap photo shop coaster and lack of notes and secrets, only lyrics, my old heart broke a little.

PSY cds are some of the only ones I buy anymore. And Mayday.
The mystery of ICP was a real exciting thing back in the day. We simultaneously knew it was just an elaborate gimmick and also sometimes thought that maybe thesee dudes are fucking crazy prophets.
This gives me an idea for a thread about inserts....
