know why icp doesnt sound like 94-01?

cuz that was twenty years ago.  or fourteen, which is still a bigass chunk of your lifetime, ill wager.

now, they will sound like 2015.  and there will be juggalos who will automatically discount it, for that very reason.

Yeah true. im just clinged on to that era of their music. Some of their new stuff isn't that bad. my girlfriend doesn't care for them, but she laughed her ass off to "zen of love"

most likely, just about every icp song is hated on, or at least considered overrated, by somebody.

ya know, the vast majority of music acts out there, the big successful mainstream ones with zillions of fans?  all those fans only like the same ten songs.  they dont have this kinda variety of opinion in their fanbases.

Well, then I'd say What Is A Juggalo, Neden Game, Boogie Woogie Wu, and In My Room are the most overplayed at my school. Anyone that knows ICP (a lot) over here, and say they like them, only know those songs. Like, even if they don't know ICP, that's the songs they know. Shit, lol, Boogie Woogie Wu is Deadlybitch's favorite.

Although, I still do love those songs.

Jeckle Brothers prolly my favorite. Prolly the first CD (along with Fuck Off, which my dad gave me) I actually had and listened to all the way through when I was real little. Somethin' like 3rd grade.

Yeah the DJ at the Karaoke bar we were at last night played the neden game and EVERYONE in that bitch knew it, my girlfriend was surprised that many people had even heard ICPs music. I told her that album went platinum and how every edgy angsty teen at the time probably bought it.

This is how I feel about it, sometimes things are popular because of marketing and the fact that people are told to like it, and sometimes things are popular because they are GOOD and appeal to a lot of people.

This reminds me of why I'm irritated with the hate towards ICP. Everyone (especially people my age or younger) love to go around yelling "Fucking Magnets! Hahaha" and they look at the stereotypical Juggalo and then the judge ICP's ENTIRE catalog and career off of that, when I am certain almost anyone could find at least one song they like by ICP.

The Tempest by Insane Clown Posse was released. Good cd I thought. I think its as good as bpb maybe even better.

The Tempest is better then MDP though. I just listen to the whole mdp cd again recently, I didn't skip a track. My opinion is the same still. I like the bonus mdp cds better.

I shall bump the calm the tempest and eye of the storm today

I fucking hated the tempest and only liked one or two songs off the calm and the eye of the storm (collectively) but I don't really remember the albums.

It's been 8 years? maybe it's time to bump them again.

I'm about half way through the Tempest and it's definitely not as bad as I remember it, but it's not something I can see myself bumping regularly either. It doesn't seem to really have the feel that the others have because it's not really a concept album. There's no discernible theme that connects all the songs and it doesn't have the mysteriousness and magic that the joker's cards or lotus have.

It really seems like they weren't sure what they were going to do after the sixth and they tried to just make a generic album to see if it works. I'm glad they're back to joker's cards. Bang Pow Boom and Mighty Death Pop slay this, imo.

That said, there are some songs on here I don't remember from when I first heard it that I'm kind of sad I didn't keep in rotation because they're definitely dope.

everything you just said could also be said about the bizzes.  in fact, i felt more like that about the bizzes.  but both they and the tempest are a little separated from the rest of the lps, almost to the point of being 'non-canonical'.  if you will.

me not quite so worry about the mythology.

they werent pushing those albums as being mystical masterpieces.  three good cds, lots of classic stuff, a few misses scattered between them.

[edit]  typo fix.

That's a good point about the bizarres. I liked those a little bit more than these though because there were some moments of like "these are special, even if they aren't jokers cards". At least to me.

My favorite thing about ICP is their mythology so the albums that don't really do that well don't really interest me as much but I can see how the people who are more into their humor or just the wicked shit type stuff would like these albums more.

I'm on If I Was A Serial Killer and the reference to OJ's book just seems archaic and lost. I like the song a lot though.

I listened to the calm straight through and didn't like anything off it. I think that might have hurt the tempest when I originally listened, like the lead in to it just didn't resonate at all.

Eye of the storm is on now and I like it a lot more than the tempest already so it's my favorite of the three. It has a lot more energy and I can seriously see adding all of the songs off this into my phone as part of my regular listening.
