Eye of the Storm was so Avant Garde. That’s what made it great.
The Madness
Good album opener. Pulls you in with a catchy rocky chorus/rap verse mix up.
Yellow Bus
The lyrics here are like, ICP completely telling people they know you think they’re retarded. And they don’t just accept it, they bask in it.
High Rise
Awesome imagery of a guy being pulled to Hell/Falling level by level through his own building. The lyrics are so like… sounds like ICP feels sorry for him, even though they’re disgusted with him. Anyone that works for a corporate goon can feel this song.
The Perfect Night
Standard ICP killer shit.
Scatter Brain
This is basically ICP’s “I Am the Walrus.” I Am the Walrus was a song written by John Lennon after he heard a professor made a course that analyzes his lyrics. And he said something like, “Let him analyze that one.”
Thrill of The Kill
Another good ICP killer track.
Wind Me Up
Felt like Violent J misses the Dark Carnival.
Okay you win! You make excellent points. And I agree. But I still enjoy The Tempest. I mean, The Tower, The News At 6 O Clock, Alley Rat, What About Now?.. great stuff. The Calm too.

BPB had better production than Tempest but it had a lot of refried themes from sure-winner classics.Zombie Slide was Headless Boogie/Rock the Dead
Fonz Pond was a PG Marsh Lagoon
I Found a Body was Dead Body Man/Mad Professor
I always felt like I found a body was closer to I Didn’t Mean to Kill ‘Em.

It sounds to me more like J trying to emulate Beck, ala Loser. Not sure how familiar J is with Lennon, but being that Another Love Song is more or less a cover of Jack Ass and J spit at least one Beck line on Black Rain it’s probably a safe bet to say he digs the guy’s work.

Is it just me or does the Warlock tend to get turned on easily lately or something?
lol… my “mmmmm” isnt a sexual moan.. its like reacting with a “woooo!” or “thats dope” to something.. but to a lesser extent.. acknowledging the freshness nonetheless tho… its some battle rap shit…

I remember it being about a storm of some sorts and then it became something about a rollercoaster like….what? It’s different. I probably can’t get through half of it though.
I remeber being kinda confused as well when it came out…the calm before the roller coaster???…Should a called The Calm “The Line” instead lol…

i figure that was the original intention, but then they realized that every other thing comin out of psychopathic at that time was rain/weather related. [acid rain, black rain, diamond rain… lotsa rain].
awfully paranoid, arent you?

I always took it as a rollercoaster, a ride at the Dark Carnival, which was representative of the storm. Kind of in the same way as they mention “the Wraith’s exhibit of Shangri la” and “the Wraith’s exhibit of Hell’s Pit”. They are Exhibits and Shows at the Dark Carnival. At least that’s how I saw it. But then again, at that time, I was trying to find hidden meaning in the albums and may have been seeing things in them that weren’t ever there or intended.

In the history of humans there have always been two types of stories: Creation Myths (god/dark carnival), and flood stories (noah/tempest-bizzar)
well, sorta. this kinda thing always leads to great debates among the doubledomes.
