Yeah and republicans are claiming they'll block anybody Obama nominates. If that happens, it's gonna be the main issue in the general election. Hopefully we get him replaced soon.

If I could, I would definitely block any Obama appointee if he tried to appoint a liberal justice. I just do not understand the liberal mindset. It make absolutely no sense to me. It would be equivalent to appointing an insane person to the bench.

I read that if Obama's nominations are blocked that could lead to deadlocked 4-4 Supreme Court votes which would leave lower court decisions as law in specific regions of America.

State powers could really soar away from federalism; it should be interesting to see how the system of checks and balances handles this possible

That's probably easier than logically considering any conservative, credible hate facts. A world where feelings trump science is called the Dark Ages (or maybe California.) Well Faygoluvers, it appears we've got hippies.

Getting all angry and start calling people hippies when they dont agree with you and generalizing entire parts of the county is doing wonders to make texas look more progressive in the public eye....

But im done it just sounds like this is getting petty fast. Or maybe was since the beginning.

Back to politics, anyone? So I just learned that Sanders wants to overturn the Citizens United Supreme Court ruling that's based on "money is speech, corporations are people,"...  so currently with super PACS, unlimited campaign donations are considered a protected form of free speech. At this rate The United States Constitution might end up praying for death:

I'm not really sure what you mean by the end. You think corporations spending unlimited, unaccountable money on politicians is free speech and that over turning it is the "death of the constitutions" or that corporations spending unlimited, unaccountable money on politics is the death of free speech?

For what its worth, over turning it would also limit the amount of campaigning unions could contribute.

Personally, I think "citizens united" has been a disaster and one of the leading points for me with regards to sanders is that he wants to get corporate citizens out of the game. They manipulate the system and distort facts and mislead voters.

We should actually have a spending cap on politicians too.

woah woah woah californians hate science but we have one of the largest science based technologies in the country? california hates science but in conservative states it is illegal to mention climate change in their state government. Californians hate science but conservatives don't acknowledge or recognize evolution. Californian's hate science but you think the rampant increase in carbon dioxide isn't at all connected to the rampant use of fossil fuels despite the fact that nearly every scientist in the world thinks they're connected? California hates science but when the same people who deny climate change were denying that the lead in the air was connected to the lead in our gasoline, and you're like "wait their science isn't questionable at all"?

Sorry homie but it ain't liberals that hate science. It's you.

yeah, how dare obama appoint "liberal" judges. Liberals are crazy. They're soooooo fucking scary. they want people to be treated fairly and to remove things like institutional racism and sexism. We should do everything we can, including violating the constitution, in order to prevent obama from doing what he was fucking elected to do.

I understand that liberals can appear "insane" to someone from the backwaters of tejas. I get it. You eat, sleep, and breathe big oil propaganda. You're fed every bit of retrogressive, homophobic, sexist, racist, anti-science horseshit that can come out of the mouths of people like rush limbaugh so someone saying "hey maybe we shouldn't be destroying the planet" or "hey, maybe we shouldn't have legal slavery" or "hey, the judicial system is actually quite racist" or " shit, man, women should totally be allowed to make decisions about when they're ready to have a child" or "holy crap if we fund education people get smarter and we create a stronger, smarter working class" or "huh maybe the guy who beat his wife shouldn't have the right to own a gun since most of the people who die in domestic violence situations had repeatedly called the police in fear of their lives." or "hey, you know, lets not privatize a cities water supply because that seems like a bad idea" or "eh all that fuss over gay people getting married was stupid, wasn't it?"

We're not as liberal as people think we are though. Remember, we had cops beating unarmed people to a pulp before it was cool.

first off, for the official record, both texas and california aint shit.

however...  texas, in my opinion, sucks more and gives back less, so between the two, california gets the edge.

i could go on, but nah.  instead...

is there anyone involved in the field of politics that this doesnt apply to?  thats pretty close to the job description.

from the top, down to the lowliest faceless canvas drone.

also, ill add that both psyral and krunk are a hell of a lot more liberal than they think they are.

again my opinion, i think theyve been conditioned to assign a strong negative bias to the word 'liberal'.

not many of us really do understand the proper meaning of the terms [liberal and conservative], fewer still use them that way.

i tend to prefer 'left-wing' and 'right-wing'.  whatever pejorative semantic baggage applies to one, applies to the other, too.

I just want to clarify that I got called a closed minded asshole with no balls just for defining the word 'horrorcore'. Didn't hurt my feelings, it's actually kind of funny when you say it all together. But a point has been proven.

Also, lets not pin this P.C. bullshit on the liberals. I think every political party has contributed to that. Of course Republicans hate it the most because most of them are raging racists. I'm sure some Republicans like colored folk. (That's a Donald Trump joke)

Also, Liberals are far too loving of guns to be hippies.

Let's not forget that Texas has an active constituency that wants to CONCEDE from the United Sates. "On what grounds?", one might ask? I refer you to some kinda Civil War type book cuz the reasoning is almost the same.

you meant 'secede', yeah?

texans can try to secede if they wanna.

gonna be more than a lil bit tricky to do, since there is already an armored division sitting there.

but i spose it could be entertaining.

my homie declared that if texas secedes, hes gonna go to oklahoma and build a border fence.

No. Currently unlimited corporate spending on campaigns IS considered protected free speech (says a few Supreme Court rulings like Citizens United v. FEC and  Buckley v. Valeo.) I think that the interpretation of the U.S. Constitution is currently warped by money being considered speech, and that paths like that are the death of freedom.

Heads up, Oklahoma is now having crazy earthquakes (possibly induced from fracking wastewater being injected into the ground there.)

Ok. I think it's time for some clarification...

I don't really think liberals are insane. As I told @krunkazphuk , I decided it was as good time to poke the bear and stir the pot. It's easy with politics to do that. In fact, on the political spectrum from that test, I was exactly in the middle (Moderate on all axis). I am not against or really for anything that any politician stands for. I pressed buttons to see what would happen. :)

On krunk getting angry? Nope. I live with her and have been married to her for over twenty years so we get each other's humor. We discuss posts that we see on here and she pushes buttons too. Difference is that she doesn't hold back anything in any "tongue - in - cheek" posts. Another thing that ya'll may not realize that she has told me on several occasions, there is no one on this forum that she doesn't wish the best and happiest life to. Fact.

Ok. Now to clarify some individual posts....

Mr. Tidwell said

@robtidwell , That is a straight fact of what the Bern wants to do. We both agree that corporations are way beyond bounds here and that it invalidates the concept of one voice not being any stronger than any other. It almost gives corporations a bigger say because they give more money. This is something that seems to be against everything that "one voice - one vote" means. In this point, we agree with you completely. Facts about Sanders are just that. No right or wrong opinions. BUT, if you want my opinion, I agree with what he wants to do. And unlimited corporate spending on campaigns being considered free speech is exactly that... a statement of how the Supreme Court currently views it. Not saying right or wrong, just the current judicial view point in this country. Again, my opinion, I do not see money as equivalent to speech. But it is, according to the Supreme Court.

@bayareashaman , about the whole California / Texas thing... I am from California too. And having lived in Texas for quite a while, Krunk and I both know that we do not fit in very well here. We don't ascribe to many stereotypical Texas ideals. Didn't fit in too well in Cali either, not cause of any "Hippy" thing, it's just cause we tend to be outcasts... like I'm sure many of the people on here are. Hippy is just a way blowing the liberal viewpoint way out of proportion beyond what liberalism really is. It's not a real jab. It's just fun name calling. Like calling your best friend a bitch or something.

scruffy said

@scruffy , Agreed, Texas and California ain't shit. And to me, neither is US and Canada (Sorry @the_positive_smack ). And we are more liberal than other people think we are (Political spectrum put us as way more moderate than conservative or liberal) but we know we are not conservative or liberal.

...

To conclude, Don't take anything said in a political arena as an attack, especially from me or krunk. This is free speech and we'll always push limits and push buttons and stir the pot. I think @lucem-ferre has the right take on it.

Anyways, as always, we really would never wish anything bad to anyone here. And in truth, krunk is a much nicer in person than I am. She is the first to offer a helping hand and best wishes to anyone and everyone, no matter what. I am not defending her cause she is more than capable of that herself, I just think some clarification was needed on where we stand on all this.

So... Ya'll are all bitches ;)
