Haven't commented in this thread yet, but might as well throw my thoughts up here now. 

I'm a registered Republican who cast a vote for Hillary Clinton. While far from my ideal choice my feelings are, as an American, it is my job to vote for the candidate running whom I feel is most qualified to be the leader of the United States. In my opinion, out of the main two candidates to choose from, that was Clinton. After the results I still feel that way.

However, I am happy the Republicans have control of the Senate and House. To a degree, I am happy we're in the White House as well. I say to a degree as I still am not (nor do I know if I will ever be) sold on Donald Trump. Not that I have a choice, but I am willing to give him a chance. While I feel he is an ignorant person, I feel it would be ignorant of myself as someone who loves living in this country to not give him a chance. Change is good and I hope change (in some form hopefully positive) comes.

At the end of the day, I feel the best thing to come out of this ugly campaign we've been enduring over this past year is that the power of the vote still proves to be a strong thing. Americans spoke and the votes mattered.

I'm not a republican. I'm not on that team. I looked at what was available and took all the information at face value and made what I thought to be the right choice.
