I don’t really care, either way he’s got a point, twiztid did help set up a revolution with icp for being a juggalo to be cool. before twiztid came along icp would just create buzz with themselves to make themself popular. twiztid worked with tech n9ne before icp even did. twiztid can do what they want they been in the biz for 20+ years they paid their dues. look at all the ppl that left psy over the years and said bad shit about J, if you think J or psychopathic is respectable to their artists then lol
for example, look what J did to drive by and boondox. they barely even promoted twiztid’s last album on psy. mne right now is what psy should have been since MEC came back. and i don’t even care for both sides when it comes to their music these days but mne is so much better than psy at the moment. look at all the releases they are/have dropped. psy isn’t doing shit

Gorey Corey said
anyways there’s a better video of mono where he says Juggalos sold out, i’m surprised we’re not getting all up in arms about that one.
I abandoned this thread a days ago, because I told myself I wouldn’t riff on Mono’s dumb shit anymore (I think you and Bonesaw hit the nail on the head a couple times itt tho) but I’m just now seeing this vid. Thing is, I agree with most of what he said. About the difference between ICP/Twiztid’s career trajectory, how society defangs things it deems dangerous, about schisms being the natural order of things, and even about Twiztid not selling out. That said, as usual, the things homeboy is wrong about are so, so wrong that they’re not rooted in any reasonable concept of reality. I’m not going to call it lying, because I believe that Paul believes he’s telling the truth.
“Twiztid didn’t sell out. JUGGALOS sold out.”
Well, this implies that Juggalos have something to sell. We don’t. So no. To be fair, he clarifies his definition of what selling out entails, and even then Juggalos don’t fit the bill. We don’t suck dick for radio and TV spots either, Paul, with the exception of King Krimzon and we all watched how that turned out.
“Juggalos are mainstream. They are apart of the mainstream pop culture.”
Agreed. I touched on this in another thread. We’ve reached the point where we’re apart of the mainstream pop cultural consciousness, and participation in the culture goes through cycles of trendiness and fad in various circles. It certainly remains terminally uncool, save for the contrarian element of American society that finds the terminally uncool hip and trendy for the sake of some vague ironic statement. None of these things are authentic to what living a genuine countercultural lifestyle entails, and I believe a genuine Juggalo by and large lacks the objectivity to discern what is and is not hip save for his individual preference. In other words, “Bitch them ain’t no ninjas.”
“When its ok to be parodied on SNL, and Workaholics, and The Office, that ain’t us getting made fun of. That’s y’all. That’s ICP. They ain’t talkin’ about Twiztid.”
Fair to a point, in that I don’t see Twiztid signed off on the soundtracks for these episodes. But at what point is Twiztid miraculously disassociated from Juggalos?
“Juggalo! Clap clap from the front to the back!”
“I’m a be a J-U-DOUBLE-G-A-L-O!”
“We representing YOU…but only until the TV starts makin’ fun of you, then I’m out b. That’s your bullshit not mine, I ain’t got nothin’ to do with it.”
This is weak, at best. On the flipside of the coin, I agree. Only so much so that, the reason *why* ICP and Juggalos themselves receive parody and public attention, and not Twiztid specifically, is because they haven’t done anything noteworthy to warrant it. Good or bad. ICP’s antics speak for themselves. Juggalos’ antics speak for ourselves. Rather than embrace this aspect of the scene that fostered their career, Paul prefers to view Twiztid as some paragon of mediocrity and non consequence. Able to influence, but only as a seperate outside nonparticipant, even when you participated. K Paul.
“We don’t make love songs, crying over a bitch!”
Twiztid literally did an album of almost exclusively that. There was 2 songs with a distinct pop-punk sound, flirting with emo, during a time when that genre was red hot. That’s not even meant to be derogatory. That was the sound. Radio exposure doesn’t matter, you did that thing you said you didn’t do. This is a garbage statement.
“You don’t see us on TV. You don’t see us tryna get on television.”
Bullshit. They did a pilot for some fucking USA Network TV show that never got picked up, so they made it a TV movie, and Jamie was hyping the prospect of being potential reoccuring characters. And they were on Ashtrays and Action Figures every other week talking about how badly they wanted to do The Talking Dead, a show that at the time was seen by millions on a weekly basis. Trying and failing is not the same as not trying. As for the ‘Twiztid’s not pop culture’ thing, they just wrapped up a convention dedicated TO FUCKING POP CULTURE. And that’s FINE. Twiztid can do whatever they want with their career and the most I’ll ever do is comment or shitpost about it. I’m fine with what they do. It’s totally a-okay to be a hoe, but don’t be one of those
“Oh we ain’t datin’ or nothin’ he just comes to the crib and I suck his dick a lil bit. I ain’t a hoe.”-type hoes, hoe.

Remember this? It’s from way before any percieved bad blood between Twiztid and Juggalos. Do you know what it represents?
An objective precedent of Monoxide acting like a slanderous hoe on the internet. This isn’t about dusting off a crusty old Twitter non-beef, and I know he did B-Real’s smoke show or whatever. That’s not the point. It’s just evidence that this sort of thing is a part of dude’s character, which in hindsight makes me look at a lot of things in a different light. Not necessarily a bad thing.
It’s just..like, remember when people would b’aaaaaaaw about Twiztid not saying Juggalo or whatever? Well at this point in the game I kinda wish they would stop saying it altogether. I just don’t wanna get lumped in with the Smokey the Out-of-Touch Hoe Show no mo.

I’m surprised nobody has yet picked up on what he said just before 19 minutes in the video that got everybody mad.
“I can’t relate to that. I don’t wanna be a piece of shit just for the sake of being a piece of shit because I can hide behind a word when I do it.”
Juggalos doing stupid shit and then hiding behind a word? Hmmm. Reminds me of SOME juggalos getting ganged up, doing crimes, getting noticed by the authorities and then crying oppression. Monoxide and Madrox didn’t know it in the 90’s, but assholes like that would ruin it for nearly all Juggalos a few years down the road.

When I first got introduced to juggalos, they were all about being degenerates. As I grew older (and they did as well) It became more about being a thoughtful, productive, member of society. I don’t credit twiztid/ICP, nor do I blame them. Humans have to decide for themselves what type of life to lead. I appreciate twiztid’s viewpoint that just because you start as shit, doesn’t mean you have to remain it. Other than that, I’m on some Cartman shit, “I do what i want!” hahahaha.
