It's from now, he's just trying to hide the beef by saying it's "old".

I laughed when they said that if they were gonna diss they'd come out and say it, yet all the disses they've done have been thinly veiled.. (Hollywood I'm coming)

FINALLY got my copy from them directly...

I ordered the damn thing early Jan. 30th, wasn't "processed" until the 3rd of Feb, didn't get here till the 7th... Say what you will about Hatchet Gear, but the Magik Ninja shop has got issues too...

ANYway... Love the album!!! Great stuff! The artwork is much better when you find out that the picture we see with the boys faces around it is just the outer boxing.

I wouldn't call them skits, more like intros...

Already have my favorite tracks.

Glad I paid for a physical copy and gave them their proper due on those charts.

Anyone bitching about it... here's their retroactive response from the 2010 Gathering Seminar:

http://youtu.be/T5oKoFqFryk?t=53m10s

And while yer at it, rewatch that shit for a lesson... Twiztid fo life!

MMFWCL!

All I gotta say is if you don't like this album then you need to give up on twiztid because you will never be satisfied. This shit is straight fuckin' fire.

Yeah....That's what I'm thinking. I'm pretty sure I'm done with them. I don't know who said it, believe it was on this thread though so credit to them because they worded it better than me, but I'm realizing that everything I liked about them was the stuff they didn't want to be doing and everything they wanted to be doing was the stuff I didn't/don't like.

i finally listened to it just now.  im not greatly impressed.

ill spin it again before i give any kind of specific review, but on the whole, im sure i rate it lower than abominationz.  and i rate abominationz a lot lower than most of yall do.

makes me think of a modern freek show.  and while zillions of juggalos consider freek show a seminal masterpiece, i hate it.

well, i dont hate it, exactly.  but its not a seminal masterpiece, and i never listen to it.  most everything else is better.

the darkness is kinda like that.

still think madrox wants to be eminem, and monoxide wants to be tech.

thats more or less what i said before.  not gonna look it up.

kinda how it is.  the darkness isnt quite that unappealing to me, but theres nothing that stood out to me like, 'im gonna remember that song for the rest of my life!'

twiztid albums used to be loaded with songs like that.

i and agree with slum, in a way.  its hot fire and all that.

but its not my hot fire.

Only song I didn't like was take it away. The chorus was just gay as fuck. I wouldn't call it the greatest twiztid cd obviously. But it's not total garbage. My favorite songs are back to hell on and on and seance. A place in the woods remix was bomb though

My favorite twiztid cds are still green book. Mutant and independents day

I've listened to this album probably closer to 30 or maybe 40 times so what I'm about to say might throw some of you off, but for twiztid to be doing all this horror music and being associated with all the stars more now, I just really don't see why the hardest the went is fucking talking about Goddamn Ouija boards! Really? I've decided. The album is a good album, but just imo cut out the last 4 songs (not including the bonus). The on and on lyrics in the chorus are annoying and the other one with the distorted vocals and p diddy/ weird Al "all about the Pentiums" beat mixed with "lay our hands on the Ouija board" are almost a nightmare in itself to find twiztid leaving psy to be unrestricted, to bring the heat, which they mostly kinda did, to release this for their first release. Especially when like I said, their supposed to be this scary monsters now. Like I said I like it but not because it's "The Darkness". I like it because they are still getting better. With flows mainly, the music...I think I miss Fritz. Tho seven is very capable, obviously we all know that, but I still miss that fucker.

Also, I can't help but think every time mono says "they call Jamie Bat man and I'll make any boy wonder" that that was the most lame thing on the album and pretty gay in all honesty. I can't be the only one?  Haha

Which is a shame because if Twiztid really feels they're going in a different direction now ( I think they are and i think they think they are) that means ICP was indeed just feeding us what they wanted us to hear. I'm not saying that it was bad music (it was phenomenal music) and I'm not contradicting your post (it's a great insight) it just shows how little freedom they actually had when we all thought (or i at least thought) they had all the freedom they wanted.

Again, I'm not faulting PSY, they're in the business to produce what makes them money, but I've just been looking at the record label as a whole in a different light since Twiztid and Blaze left. My views have grown increasingly more negative.

I don't think you're hearing that right, homie.

But I really think the lot of ya are sounding jaded as fuck. Most of you are probably too young to have ever hung out in actual music/record stores (and FYE is NOT a music store), but you sound like the fuckin' snobs that usually used to work in 'em. Talking shit about everyone's preferences and spouting off at the mouth about musicians like you know any better and that somehow YOUR opinion is the one that should be listened to cuz you "knew them when"...

To quote from the movie "High Fidelity": "You guys are snobs." "No we're not." "No, seriously. You're totally elitist. You feel like the unappreciated scholars so you shit on the people who "know less" than you". "No." "Which is everybody." "Yes." "It's just sad... that's all".

You talk about "producers" in a manner that totally has nothing to do with what a producer actually does. They are just the set of expensive ears that chooses how loud some shit is over another. They don't play the instruments (or often times choose them), they don't write the lyrics, they aren't the ones solely responsible for coming up with the beats... Plenty of people might agree with you that Guns N' Roses sucks ass since after "Use Your Illusion" but who the fuck is talking about who produced every individual album?

Like a song or an album or don't. This bullshit proselytizing about record labels and the future of artists attempting to dissuade other fans from liking the things they enjoy... that makes you a fuckin' hater. You're all eatin' too much shit talking about how you're not into what Twiztid is doing or what "is left" of Psychopathic Records... then fuckin' BOUNCE! Quit hanging around talking shit. Enjoy your old age, white beard havin' stage and sit in your rocking chairs talking shit about how things used to be. You wanna be helpful? Talk UP, don't talk down! Stop trying to take shit apart!

Be specific with your haterade. What the fuck do you want from these people? You don't like the subject matter? Too many guitars? Not enough record scratching? I got no problem saying that I'm not *that into KMK when almost EVERY fuckin' song is about weed. I like bouncing to a good weed track but I don't need 10+ albums on the same damn subject. Now people are talking shit about Twizted and ICP not doing more "wicked shit" (which has become such a convoluted subject) but how many fuckin' songs do you NEED to have describing blood coming out of head wound? There's only so many adjectives in the english language!

We're all supposed to be on the same ride. You don't have to like every vehicle that gets you there, you're just supposed to be enjoying the trip. If you're not into that, there's the curb. Stick out your thumb and wait for something else to pick you up.

I enjoyed "The Darkness". You DON'T have to agree with me but FUCK YOU if you wanna try and tell me I'm "WRONG"!

when talkin bout music, particularly hip-hop, the word 'producer' has multiple meanings.

the common meaning is literally the guy that did the music.  this applies to any genre that doesnt require a live band.

the job you are talking about is 'executive producer', which mostly means the guy that paid for everything.

remember, different in the rock world.  were talkin rap, here.

^^ Yep. A lot of shit came to light at the end of 2012 and onward. And it honestly broke my heart to hear it and read it. I knew something was up, but I didn't want to believe it. I shrugged it off. I think I started believing in the "beef" when I first heard Monoxide's verse in "Down With Us". I mean, it's clear as day, right there in the song. Then again in "Down Here". There's nobody else it could be about. I respect twiztid for not laying down and dying. one hundred percent.

Getting technical and nerdy as fuck on some music is a very fun thing to do but too many "I think it sounded good when they rapped" responses gave me a twitch in the eye that I have yet to get rid of.

It more ties in with someone being able to express themselves for me. As far as knowing terms and shit, it doesn't matter to me. I know enough to hold a conversation with musicians but that's for efficiency mostly. It would definitely be shitty to hate on someone for not knowing (unless it's a situation where they pretend to know like you're talking about) but someone that can't express why they like their "favorite" artist to me is terrible. It doesn't have to be technical but fuck, man, if you're going to like something so much, you should probably be self aware enough to know WHY you like them as much as you do.
