I think when they say "they don't look like twiztid fans" they mean that they don't seem that interested in the music or into being in the video.I light up meth pipes all the time. Gotta be high energy all the time for the students! Only playing, but apparently meth use is huge in North Korea.
J admits he's a Minuteman, so you can't really ride his dick for very long anyway.
There's some enthusiastic performances, a lot of them got really down. Some a little less animated. That's kind of reality. There's plenty of fans that'd awkwardly sing it like that. I know a hype man that hyped like that.

Okay so, am I missing something here?
is... is this twiztid now?
I didn't listen to Generation Nightmare, (I'm broke and didn't feel like pirating anything, not that I won't later, but I didn't feel like it atm) the last time I heard a full album from them was Continuous Evilution, which had some fucking amazing tracks on it. and I heard the Trick or Treat ep as well.
So when I got around to Magic Spellz I was not even remotely expecting this, is this actually twiztid now? are they a hard rock band now?
Did they actually do a fucking 180 on genre? Did that happen without me knowing?
I don't know whether to feel betrayed or feel like an idiot, I'll admit I've missed large chunks of their discography, so if they've done this before I wouldn't know, but I did not expect this at all.
As for the song, I liked it, it reminded me of Shinedown, and I grew up loving them a ton.
But, that being said, I did not fucking expect to say the words "it reminded me of shinedown" when I put this shit on.
If they wanna be a rock band, I guess I can't fucking stop them, but
A. using session musicians will make things feel very impersonal, just thematically you want your band to be a BAND
and
B. can they AT LEAST throw some rapping in there? Honestly if they did they could become something ACTUALLY noteworthy rather than being just another Shinedown or Seether, they could be something really unique and cool. I'll always love Hollywood undead, and they've gotten away with some shoddy rapping off of just their musical composition and style, and twizitd are like the perfect candidate to be something like that, but still being close to their old selves, it could work really well, something, anything.
I was hoping by the second verse he'd break out into a rap verse, maybe something fast to offset the tempo of the rest of the song. ANYTHING
Sorry if I'm late to this discussion, I probably am, very, extremely, late, I'm certain I am, but, I had to say SOMETHING.

Mutant. Just listen to Mutant and it was a shittier attempt at doing this. They've done rock songs their whole entire career. The album is pretty good though, IMO. It's not a rock album. It's got 3 rock songs out of 20 tracks and 2 rap/rock songs. Basically just like any other Twiztid album. Just find it on youtube or stream it if you're that against pirating.

Gotchya, and no I'm not that against pirating (edit: okay that's a lie, I'm not against pirating somebody you already support especially if they are not a mainstream artist, i you pirate an indie or low profile artist's shit, you better be at their shows or buy the album later if ya feel me), I'm just lazy and have no vpn downloaded rn.
Idk how I've gone this whole time dancing around those songs, (I do listen to them pretty often and warm up to them on occasion) thinking back I have heard one or two, but they were more on the rap/rock side.

I worded that previous statement like shit (you know that thing, where you go back to a previous part of a sentence to add something and then forget what the words after it are, so it sounds wrong, that)
I'm okay with piracy if you already support an artist, also if it's a mainstream artist I couldn't give less a fuck, but if it's a small time artist you better be supporting them if your gonna pirate them, see their shows, buy their merch.
Actually to expand on "buy their merch" if they have a record deal there's a good chance that the label is going to suck down their album sale income, but, from what I hear, they get a lot of their merch revenue untouched, so don't bother buying that album, buy a shirt or some shit and just download it.

I think it's to be expected that people will get your music for free if they can, artists are having to work around that. Especially when the demographic that consumes the most music can't afford it like they used to. So I wouldn't feel bad and honestly you don't need a vpn to pirate anything other than huge name artists. They don't monitor your downloads like that. What happens is labels will leak their own albums to these sights so they can track who's downloading it and they contact the ISP as a middle man. These are mostly torrents too. It's usually just with the super huge popular albums and artists.
I'd move to streaming personally, because it at least pays the artist, but I don't like needing internet to hear my music and they don't always have everything I want. So for now. Plus, I'm kind of afraid that as the industry moves towards streaming platforms that these new sites will become the new gate keepers completely censoring some artists out of their catalog while forcing others on to people. Spotify did it with Drake when he dropped Scorpio making the whole front page about Drake. They literally put his album cover on the link to every single genre they could fit into.
https://techcrunch.com/2018/07/03/spotify-users-push-back-at-the-over-the-top-drake-promotion/
Mean while they tried taking XXXTentacion off of all their playlists over the accusations because they didn't want to 'promote negativity' or some stupid shit. Which, to me, is kind of trash since I really love angry and hateful music.
I digress. I know that Chance the Rapper has gotten huge and he's always given every single album out for free. He gives people the option to buy his albums. He's done fairly well for himself. Tech N9ne did the same thing with Absolute Power back in 2002 to combat the industry. So I don't think pirating really hurts the artist if the artist is good because people will find a way to support the music they love.

This whole music video is like a shit ton of Tik Tok videos compiled into one fucking video.
Well, except that there's only one preteen in there, that's kind of accurate.
Actually, on the topic of streaming, I know that Tidal has been collecting "masters" (or master quality recordings) from labels to stream. Which is kind of cool. That's better quality than you'd ever get from downloads, CDs and maybe even vinyl.

I usually do stream things lol, but for a bit (idk, two weeks after it came out) I couldn't find Generation nightmare anywhere on youtube, looks like they uploaded the whole thing now, presumably waited out that first bit to get those day 1 album sales.
But yeah, I usually do just stream things.
Translation: yeah I'm gonna listen to it now

I totally forgot to comment on this video, it's like a weaker version of the Pain music video from 3 days grace, and that's bad, cause that video was already lazy as fuck. When Icp is putting out rodger rabbit style animation real life combos with set changes and a beginning narrative, and your putting together something you could have made by asking some fans to make tic tock videos, your just asking for people to look down on you (ps I'm not saying that icp's music video was some masterpiece, but it did it's job).
But I guess all is forgiven when I remember they made Dead and Gone. That might be one of the best music videos of all time. Lmao, I've never considered what that list would be like, holy shit ima start a thread about that.

Not that we should compare them every time they do something, I think both videos were equal in entertainment, originality and meaning. Both were poppy songs using tropes commonly used in poppy music videos.
