Don't say anything at all, right? I'm normally totally on a positive tip. But on this, I just gotta speak my mind.

I just tried to give Twiztid's A New Nightmare yet another listen...to no avail. To me, it is a complete waste of 41 minutes. I don't like to criticize anybody's art. You NEVER EVER see me on this tip. But this record is pretty much garbage and a huge disappointment to any Twiztid fan.

First off, the sound is totally derivative of Strange Music Inc, which is undeniable. Twiztid's newfound solo endeavor finds them looking at Strange's mainstream success and wanting to follow suit. And good for them. But, sadly, the boys don't pull it off well. The content suffers. It's like they're trying to be mini-Kalis with all that singing shit. (And not in the hilarious Mirror Mirror type way.) And Jamie's nasily sing-songy flow is retarted. Sick man? Worst song of the year, hands down.

Overall, the record does nothing for me. Just my opinion. The sound suffers. The content lacks. I found the song "Wasted" particularly troubling: "Cool song about popping molly there, Twiztid." Very reminiscent of Tech. Go ahead. Feed into the drug culture. Party, party, party until somebody ODs, right? Right. See you on the drug bridge, bros.

Bottom line: Personally, I like my rappers to have more substance or concepts than "Wasted." And to, in fact, question that drug bridge culture that's left so many of my people strung out or fallen over the years.

I am interested to see what the boys produce next. But thus far...I'm not impressed. Quite the opposite.

on a different but somewhat related note i hate when people (mostly juggalos) claim people who rap fast are on some tech n9ne shit or people singing are on some krizz shit.. its like really? those muthafuckas didnt invent that shit of course they do it but a lot of other muthafuckas have done it in the past & recently.. its like why arent they on some twista shit? haha it just comes across like theyre tryin to say theyre the only dudes doin it & its like patented or some shit haha

Seems like Strange is still a possibility. My favorite songs since they've departed weren't on the mix tape. Impending Evil and Embarrassed.

almighty_smack in one thread crying about having his name in a Twiztid thread and yet can't stay away from any of them.

See I feel the completely opposite way about this album, so I wouldn't say "any Twiztid fan". I can def see why a lot of people don't feel it with their new lyrical approach if you will, but to me, this album bumps. Seeing "Down With Us" live is ridiculous! Wicked shit to the fullest.

Everyone has their opinions, which is dope. I hate the direction ICP is going in. Speaking of which, did you ever get backlash for the tarot cards from PSY chick?

Warlock saying psychopathic artists dont have songs with substance is borderline retarded.

Wowachick I think thats a mostly fair assessment (albeit one I totally disagree with) but the whole spew about wasted is kinda silly. I didnt like the track either but come on, they almost always have a lets get fucked up track. This is nothing new.

Also ditto what carnivalkilla said

never really

maybe its my shitty english skills haha but i meant it as a psychopathic album usually only has one song with "substance" while the rest is off in another direction.. clearly i didnt say they NEVER have 'em.. i was just saying that isnt the majority of their product.. & is just a small piece of it.. im sure it couldve been worded better.. my bad haha

I didn't even buy A New Nightmare, only Twiztid CD I don't have. I hated the whole thing, didn't think it was trying to copy strange music, just thought it sucked. With all their albums, one of them is bound to suck, and this one is it. But, then again, lots of people on here like it, so I guess it's a matter of personal taste in music. For a Twiztid record though, it was by far the worst thing they ever put out. Hope they realize the mistake, sober up, whatever, and just never make an album like that again.

Substance is an opinion. I think a lot of ICP's fuck around songs back in the day have more substance than songs where they're trying to be serious. Because I'd rather listen to the former than the latter. I just don't like when people take themselves too seriously and start preaching. I'm inspired more by people having fun and not trying to change the world. Where as other people are the opposite. Apples and oranges.

It was just a mixtape. I don't think Twiztid really had some sort of direction with it just wanted to release something to get out there for the time being. Maybe their next record will have more of the Twiztid sound we enjoy. The mixtape was alright but not their best work really.

The reason it sounds like strange is because Seven produced most of it, same with Abominationz. He is the in house producer for Strange and an amazing producer. I thought Sick Man was the best song on the mixtape. Wasted was a stupid song, but you don't think they haven't been doing this shit for forever? I mean ICP just dropped a song about them popping Xanax bars.

I don't really have a problem with you not liking the new music (different strokes for different folks, right?) and it would be stupid if I did, but I guess I am just wondering what kind of music DO you like? Who are you listening to right now?

In my opinion this is one of the best projects Twiztid has released, they can actually RAP now. I am tired of boring ass end rhymes in rap music.

Also, I am probably gonna get shit for this, but I like Abominationz and New Nightmare over:

Mirror rorriM

Man's Myth/ Mutant

Independent's Day

W.I.C.K.E.D.

Heartbroken and Homicidal

I honestly don't know the words to ANY of the songs on WICKED or HoH and I own both of those records.

I agree with that. Abominationz is my favorite Twiztid album next to Mostasteless. It's like Twiztid graduated on that album.

I didn't see New Nightmare in there. I agree not a game changer imo. Just a mix tape who cares. I skip tracks. The videos they put out have been a big step up from their Psychopathic ones.

I think FF5 sucks outside of a couple old school songs but it doesn't make me judge the next ICP album or anything.

Also what's up with the weird arguments toward Twiztid lately here? "Twiztid is fucking arrogant!", "Twiztid's promoting too much drug use!", "Twiztid have sold out!", "Twiztid are singing and gone soft!", "Twiztid's sound has changed!". Where's the backlash to ICP? They're doing that stuff x10. Much more than Twiztid. Like not even close.
