Listened to these guys when they were the Damned Dirty Apes and always knew they had infinite potential so my expectations were pretty high for this album and they did not disappoint! Of coarse there's going to be the haters out there that are gonna hate just to hate cause that's all on their dinner plate is hate but fuck em. I think their going to be slept on but another solid release by MNE! That roster is unfuckwitable

Regardless of where the beats came from, this album is better than Twiztid's new shit by a mile.

so I'm a hater if I think it's a legitimately bad record? lol

they can rap but sort of like Lex it just feels empty in regards to any kind of concept or even substance...all the tracks basically sound the same to me

This. They both do pretty much the same flow, same inflection, same cadence in like every song. There's nothing to make any track really stand out. So it all meshes together and sounds boring to me.

anyone who thinks an underrated-of-potluck clone and killa c's lil brother are undeniable, is a dickrider..

that dirty apes tape was definitely too generic-juggalo-rapper-soundin for me to care to hear the new one.. mad props to them for getting signed tho.. that takes serious hustle and its cool to see psy/mne sign actual juggalo rappers.. definitely not better than amb were back when rumors were abound that twiztid didnt think amb were good enough, haha..

also with respect to Madrox (who I think is the shit) that "I'm a son of a gun" line has been used so many times in rap verses it's really old...think even Madrox himself has used it a few times before which makes it seem even lazier...but yeah I skimmed through the Ape-X album only because none of it really grabbed my attention...no real substance which was my issue with the Lex album...basically just rapping to rap lol which is cool but idk...I guess I feel like they're all developing their sound still at MNE...figuring out what they want to represent...which is where PSY is right now with guys like Lyte and Blahzay (and these MBK guys if they're signed with the Hatchet as well)...of course people think it's trash right now (I'm by no means a Blahzay Roze fan) but they could develop them into something dope over time

I love Twiztid, but the new album is very weird lyrically. I just can't get over the album art. It is not something I would imagine being a Twiztid album.

The best release from MNE along with Lex & G-Mo's. Just shitty that this one didn't get the proper promo or more bundle packages. It's actually a CD-R with a sticker on the top. The album however is excellent minus those 2 things.

Mai waifu got me into these dudes when they were Damn Dirty Apez, and I've heard Mr. Grey feature all over other underground artist's shit for years now. I didn't even realize he was the dude from Apez until they made the name switch.

I wasn't disappointed by the album. There's something explosively kinetic in their sound and they manage it while keeping impeccable rythm. Not an easy task to pull off by any means, but GV does it. It's not my first choice for something to bump (because it's not morbid crap), but I wouldn't mind if someone threw this on in the whip or at a party.

It's obvious MNE is building a roster to compete with the other major indies in terms of respectability. By sound and substance alone it seems like a collaboration with Strange is inevitable with these guys, which would be a win for fans of well constructed, dynamic music. The addition of Slaine on this album, R.A.'s verse on the The R.O.C.'s shit and G-Mo's connection to Vinnie Paz not only makes me excited for the new music, but gives our side of the underground a bit more credibility in the broader spectrum of underground hiphop. A stronger than average debut, I'd say. I expect nothing but good things from these guys.

Wack. They had plenty of time to get it to a pressing plant too.

MNE didn't even film a video to help promote it.......confused

Yup. I think it might have been Mr. Bones that said it but "my daddy was a pistol, I'm a son of a gun" has absolutely been used by him before. Glad I wasn't the only one that caught it.

Gave this album a listen today. These guys aren't as terrible as everyone else on MNE. So that's something, I guess. There's nothing there to really hold my attention though. It's just more sporadic "I'm so this that I'm that" rap with a touch of numetal/modern punk flare to make it seem a little different. One dude's got bars for sure, one dude just makes me want to listen to Grewsum and...that's about it. Which is a bummer. I want to like SOMEONE from MNE, dammit. I liked hearing KFV on it. That dude needs to be bigger.

lmao see that's my thing too...I like that they aren't trying to go with characters for every artist like Psychopathic mainly tries to do but the problem with that is what they ARE doing isn't as interesting IMO...Lex can rap but his album was boring as far as concepts go...G-Mo can rap but it wasn't really anything I haven't heard someone else do better...I was excited for a Zodiac project finally but that shit kinda disappointed me too aside from a few tracks (hopefully the full album is better)...wasn't into the Gorilla Voltage album...liked Continuous enough to buy the vinyl but it really was continuous of what they've been doing aside from a few joints where they switched it up a bit

to be fair they're still a new label and still developing their sound which is obvious...they're getting better with it I think but I'm not fucking with YW at all...not just because of the shady stories about him but I don't really like his music...actually preferred when he was singing on shit because his own shit was kinda bland aside from having a pretty good flow (lyrically I've always thought him and Bonez were both kinda lame...that song on the EP with MNE where he's crying about that girl and talking about kidnapping her new boyfriend and torturing him lmao...fuck kinda Blahzay Roze shit is that?)

Lyte is a promising sign that Psychopathic might start to focus on characters second and skills first but yeah, I feel ya.

My problem with MNE artists isn't a lack of gimmicks or anything so much as they all kind of have the same style. It's the CES CRU/MadChild random bars that could easily be switched out and put into different songs without anyone knowing style rap. It just doesn't work for me.
