yeah i never understood this either. i mean i own a few pairs, but thats because they are for different things.
i own a pair of trainer for walking the dog/exercising and 2 pair of sneakers so they dont get stinky if im wearing them day in and day out. the newest pair is about a year old, but the others ive had for about 7 or 8 years. i do buy good quality shoes, its hard to find size 15 shoes in aus.

It's not really anything secret. Every website you go to gets your IP address so it can route the web content back to you. So even the nefarious ones people go to have access to this info. And many websites, like http://www.iplocation.net/ will give you the location of that IP address (Sometimes to the exact Longitude and Latitude). Every site you go to is logged and tracked by the providers. It has to keep up with that info so they know how to better expand the network throughput and prevent bottlenecks. It's not a conspiracy or Big Brother.... it's just good business.
