Sure there is : http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki.....ent_theory /s
Not everyone fears death. Some don't even believe it exists. Some live moment to moment with no though of any "inevitable" future occurrence. I just don't believe it is universal or global. It may be pervasive in the majority, but it would not hold true for everyone.
I myself don't understand why someone would fear death. If you die, you'd be dead and this life won't matter anymore so what's the point of worrying about something that once it occurs negates your reasoning for the worry in the first place.
[edit] Oh, I just read the previous posts... nevermind.

@jonnmilenko , I see your point. Anything that makes you question long held beliefs, even if in the end it does not change them, is worth it. Not enough people step back and analyze what they think. They just accept their thoughts as they are without question. I believe in questioning everything, especially oneself. If I ever get to a point where I think I got it all down and know it all, then I will have fallen into a state of self-delusion. Hell, when I find myself stagnating and thinking in the same way I thought a year prior, a red flag goes up in my head and I start questioning everything about my mind, thoughts, and life.

read what you wrote, here and on the page before.
'inspire'... 'spirit'... that bigass post bashing the 'skeptic' [which read like an evangelist wrote it].

@Scruffy your getting caught up on the flashy title too much...i didnt choose the words Spirit or Movement, but neither is used in the context you think....or you just like to argue...whether that means dropping your IQ to do so...
..An Evangelist, is a con-man that preys on the week minded, for monetary gain, using the very fears and ignorance i was talking about...god needs Money...ALOT of it apparently.
i choose to bitch about the Religion side of the Zeitgeist movie cause, its a huge issue to me....i feel sorry for those still brainwashed into thinking so 2 dimensional...."My God is awesome and right, and if you disagree i kill you"...however there are 3 other movies with a 4th in the works that cover alot of different topics...all designed to make you question the norm.
I dont like being a Zombie puppet caught in a box....
..im sure youll have some kind of whitty rebuttal that you think makes you feel better...so ill just bow out, and leave you with something i BET you can understand...
....Bah bah bah...baaaaaaaah, bahh bah (Amen)

This isn't always true. There are a lot of evangelists (or rather, people that proselytize to others) that do it because they actually FEEL like they're helping someone and couldn't give a fuck less about the money. If you are a Christian, and you HONESTLY believe non-Christians are going to hell, you should want to convert as many people as you can. Sometimes it helps to try and look at things from other people's point of view. For example, I am pro-choice and for gay marriage, but I can UNDERSTAND why someone would be pro-life, whether they are religious or otherwise. While I cannot understand why people give a shit whether two dudes or two chicks marry one another, I CAN understand why someone who is against gay marriage wouldn't want to cater/bake a cake/what the fuck ever else for a gay or lesbian wedding. If you can understand where someone is coming from, it makes it easier to have a meaningful discussion versus a pointless argument.

@Pigg ...well said....i agree with 99% of what you just said....
however when the "Norm" outweighs the 1% youve mentioned...that 1% is assimilated..
Ex..
1% of White Supremist "may"...just be proud of their particular Cultural Heritage...not Racists
1% of people who rock the Rebel Flag "May" just be proud of their geographical History...not redneck assholes
1% of People who defend the Swastika "May" feel is a historical symbol of peace...not Neo-Nazi fuckwads
1% of Evangelists "May" just care about your eternal salvation...not con-men who prey upon the weak-minded
...its kinda like digging a piece of corn out a lump of dookie to prove that the entire pile isnt just dookie.

There's a pretty big difference. At least in my experience. I've been handed those stupid little fake prop things they give at festivals and ended up having long conversations with them that end with us agreeing to disagree. They say they'll be praying for me and that's it. They're being evangelical but they're sincerely interested in "saving my soul" and are willing to discuss it. The televangelist shit is a whole different story. Fuck those people completely but they're not the majority of the evangelical community. Again, in my experience anyway.
