on the other hand, coulda slipped on all the loose shampoo, sued wally world, and had the bills paid for a couple years.

Risky. I was foreman on a jury deciding a slip & fall case against a major retail chain, and unfortunately the injured party didn’t get any compensation. Few lessons in my life have sucked donkey balls on such a massive scale, but that one did. Science and logic lost that day to smoke and mirrors. And liars in expensive suits.

did you at least reach a decision?

i served on a jury for a civil suit over a bill for boat repairs.  sat through three days of courtroom fun, then watched them people yell at each other for two hours like it was 12 angry men…  and had to go back and announce a hung jury.

enormous waste of everybodys time.

  awfully paranoid, arent you?

Yes. Everyone else on the jury decided against the plaintiff, even the woman I suspect was incapable of speaking English (she listened to a whole week of testimony in English, then required a translator to convey her vote.) I voted differently than the rest, but a unanimous decision wasn’t necessary. Welcome to Texas!

its like 150 million chump change really….

Is that any way to talk about the “single largest annual sporting event to take place on Canadian soil”?

Maybe you’d prefer to have your economy rely on the annual Curling Championships?

Congratulations; maybe ICP will consider moving the Gathering to Canada when a Canadian is capable of providing a direct answer about something other than poutine.

Hope u make it, Smack. I camped with Canadian Battleaxe Warriors my first year and it was amazing. I’ll generalize like a stupid American and assume Canadians are all the sweetest people in the world.

i’m afraid that ohio may legalize pot this year… it should be a good thing, BUT the bill (or whatever) being pushed through is horribly written.

no home-grow,

and it allows for 10 commercial growing sites, and get this, the recipients of these grow sites are a PREDETERMINED group of campaign supporters.

hurray for legalizing a pot monopoly in our state!!… i will sadly be voting against this bill, though it dose break my heart.

thats fuckin weird.  sounds like its constructed to be a win-win for the politicos, and fuck the public.

having said that, weed money goin to people i dislike is a lesser evil ill gladly live with, to keep from bein arrested.  shit, money is already goin to scumbags i dislike.

id still vote for it, and hope for better legislation in the future.

im pretty sure at least forty states will legalize before mizzo.

the problem is it’s an amendment to the state constitution, which makes it even harder to change in the future, these guys are looking to control the weed market from day one. and that’s no good for anyone but themselves

In Texas the richer areas have been known to rezone their counties to keep their tax revenue in the rich areas, and this screws poor areas out of things like funds for public education. The answer might not be indulgent yuppie activists, but electing some politicians who want to serve humankind rather than rape the system.

one nice thing about missouri churches, they spend more time warring with each other, than they do dabbling in politics.

Oh yeah. You can’t swing a dead cat without hitting a million dollar church around here, it’s big business.
