All of a sudden people are afraid of vaccines, crying, raging about, breaking down, posting extremist fear mongering baloney about tyranny.

They claim it’s about a new world order (that old gem) and reject basic facts like the unvaccinated are contracting the virus and dying from it at higher rates (“that’s just what want you to think”).

I’d find this all hilarious except for the fact that most of our highly skilled workers are older than the median age, and thus are more susceptible to infection. If they go, especially a substantial portion of them, society will suffer in ways greater than having to deal with deaths of loved ones and innocent bystanders. The World’s infrastructure is all messed up, from power to bridges, medical systems to court systems. So fixing all of that is going to be set back and cause all sorts of issues.

Since most of the money in the world and land is in the hands of old people, that’s going to effect shit too in ways other than what people assume. A lot of people think it will free up the moolah and land, but in reality the old fogies actually donate and invest most of that for public use. Sub-middle aged lawyers and politicians are going to carve all of that few remaining public goodness up between themselves. People don’t seem to realize it, but much of the world’s resources are subsidized by programs funded with that money. Everything from tap water to power. People don’t have any idea.

We haven’t even begun to see the large scale, long-term fallout of antivaxxers irresponsibility.

I will admit that seeing them panic over not having any food, water or shelter will kind of be worth it, karma-wise, along with a lack of medical care.

Spread a virus, deal with the consequences. Learn from history. Read about plagues and the idiots that wouldn’t respect basic rules about distancing. This shit has happened before and it’s not a conspiracy. It’s nature, and it can be bargained with.

And no, that’s not fear-mongering; we have centuries of this to learn from.

All I know is this: my unvaccinated coworker suffered MUCH more than I did after giving me his Republican AIDS. He also cost me almost two checks worth of pay. He also put my immunocompromised mother and family at risk with his fearful carelessness.
