A few weeks back I listened to an audio book that is a MCU companion piece prequel.
Ive been struggling off and on with what I would do if I was in his shoes.
So let me frame it like this. Im not interested in the morality of it or whether one person should be given the power in the first place.
I just wanna know what would you do? Lets just say that there is a 99% chance that the entire universe and everything in it will eventually be destroyed. Soon. You have the power and ability to stop it…at the cost of destroying half of everyone. Assuming you get to choose whether or not it is random, do you make it random?
If not, how do you go about selecting?
Again im not as interested in the ethics of it.i just wanna know straight up.i keep changing my mind on this one

I like it. Just let everyone die then. Choosing whether or not to make it random would make it easier for anyone who had problems with killing family friends and even themselves. It seems random to me. Not sure how else to word that.

The world is corrupted and infested with humans. The only way to save the world, is human extinction or at the very lest, most of us die. I lost my faith in the majority of humanity long ago because day after day I am shown how truly fucking stupid and full of pointless hate so many are. It’s so fucking easy to be kind and help your fellow human but most wont do it. Or if they do it’s only because they want to suck god’s dick and live in a fairy tale. Ugghh, I don’t have anxiety and depression I’m just fed up with this bullshit monstrosity we call modern society.
“Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for All.”
These words haunt me because I and so many others were programmed to repeat them daily. Yet in my entire life I’ve never seen these words as reality and that’s fucking horrible.
We are constantly divided, Only have as much liberty as we’re legally allowed unless we say fuck it and grasp it for ourselves, then there’s justice….pretty much exclusively for the wealthy. The fuck.

Also,@krunk theres a reason i put the 99 percent modifier. If its 100 percent it isnt a dilemma at all. You just fucking do whatever it takes. Its the chance of being wrong that gives me pause. Its unclear as far as I know the probability of Thanos being right, but he was among the smart beings in the universe and was right on about his calculations of his homework being destroyed. He even offered himself up as the first sacrifice but was exiled….this isnt comic canon btw just MCU.

Its pretty straight forward not sure why you are confused. By wrong I mean you don’t need to actually kill anyone and the universe isnt in danger. That’s 1 percent of a chance. Most fucking likely though the universe will be destroyed just like it was on your home planet the first time you made your calculations.
Again I’m not interested in the politics of this question. You said you would abstain and thats all i wanted to really know.

It’s more Malthusian than eugenics. His idea is that he noticed nations with high death rates have much higher birth rates while healthier nations give birth less often. Thus, you’d lower the population growth in places like Africa with vaccines that’d drastically lower the death rate. Actually, having a good health care system that treats illness, disabilities, and mental health is the opposite of eugenics because it caters to keeping genetic defects alive in the gene pool rather than filtering them out.
