I don’t care what it is. Some piece of media. Describe what you like about it rather than telling me the plot or whatever.

Example: i really like the way the walking dead focuses on individuals, many of which who die, rather than on the zombies. It’s characters are really thoughtfully created and seem very complex.

Example of what i don’t want: the walking dead is so dope there’s these guys trying to survive a zombie apocalypse and its really gooey. There’s a bad ass Ninja chick too!

Ok go

‘zombies’ are incidental in every single ‘zombie’ flick out there.  human v human is always the point.

the central appeal of the entire ‘zombie’ genre is that it gives you an excuse to kill your friends and neighbors.  this is observable.

oh…  sumn i like…

shit, i dunno.  im in a rather heightened state right now, to be honest.  so…

violence.  i like violence.  random chaotic violence, sometimes…  but mainly applied violence.

theres not much out there that is as satisfying as someone gettin fucked up when they got it comin to em.

yeah.  i likes that.

I love interesting dialogue done in film.

Whenever “Dogma” (my friend is an extra in it, too), “Jackie Brown”, “Clerks”, “Pulp Fiction” (well most any Tarantino or Kevin Smith movies… despite a few suckers) is on, I can’t help but stop and listen.

I love “Contact”.. movies dealing with space exploration and religious hypocrisy…. that have great dialogue.

That wasn’t really my point. JC is watching walking dead so I used it as a random example. I don’t actually like it.

im something of a jaded film buff.

film buff, cuz im all about a great film.  can talk up films, movies and flicks for weeks.

jaded, cuz great films are surprisingly rare.  not just today, they always have been…  its just harder to pick em out today, cuz people will hype up any fluff out there like its actually laudable.  these days, i almost never watch a movie i aint seen before unless i hear good things from someone whose opinion on flicks is worthy of respect.

another problem, is that for reasons i myself dont even understand, i find it harder and harder to actually sit through an entire movie, unless its just gripping me.  used to be, i could spend a couple hours watchin nearly anything… and watchin it seriously, with film eyes.  not lately.

i like it when i can sleep, and either have no dreams, or dream about benign shit.  hate it when, all too often, i wake up feelin fatigued from whatever drama my mind was throwin at me all night.  even more irritating when i cant remember it.  it like, ‘what was the point of that?!  thanks a lot, brain’.

shit, im not very good at this.

Whenever I’m around cable television I fucking love watchin infomercials. Everything from QVC to Slap Chop commercials. Like, if given the choice, I will choose to watch QVC over the news.

It’s not an ironic like either. I sincerely enjoy watchin the shit. Never bought a single thing from any of it but the salesmanship in em is both beautiful and disgusting at the same time. They’re tryin to push a piece of shitty costume jewelry on you like it’s the best goddamned thing to ever exist for like fifteen minutes straight. They know it’s bullshit. You know it’s bullshit. And they know that you know it’s bullshit. But it doesn’t matter to them because they’re professionals and they’re gonna keep insisting that you need a comically large remote control. It’s nuts how much bullshit floods out of their mouths over their bleached teeth within that time.

It’s capitalism all wrapped up into a neat little hunk of paid time. Plastic and uncomfortable? Sure. Kind of outdated? Fuck yeah it is. Making people sincerely happy, even if just for a brief moment? Absolutely.

Man, they really are great to watch.

I really like this dude Tidwell. He’s totally dope and cheers me up when I’m having a bad day…and gives me cool topics to post in when I’m watching the most boring episode of TWD ever. Even though I get distracted and don’t actually post until the next day because I’m super lame like that. And he’s really into voicing his opinion against hate and bigotry which I totally respect even though now he’s going to object to this post because I’m talking about him when he said to talk about a thing and how dare I objectify him like that?! I really like this movie about a new cop in Detroit I mean New York City who was hired to bring down the city’s biggest gangster, who’s only loyalty is to the money, which is his. Never before has a realistic crime drama been presented with such poise. Not only is it full of badass action packed scenes, but it also touches on more serious issues as it takes you through a journey of heartbreak and murder as the main protagonist falls in love with the most beautiful woman only to have her slaughtered by two assailants, who happened to be ninja assassins. The ruthlessness of the film pulls at my heart strings, and the plot twist at the end of the film could rival those of M Night Shyamalan.

I like Mr. Robot because it presents characters as archetypes, like my favorite graphic novel series Sandman. As the characters evolve they become more hard-boiled versions of themselves, and that just adds to the story’s momentum.

I like turtles.

Also, I like how comic book movies are dominating the film industry right now. not that I think all of these comic book movies are all good, or even that they are better than the other current films. I like it, though, because when I was a kid I was a comic book nerd. Actually, I was more of a comic character trading card nerd. And if you told me that basically every character would have their own show or movie by 2016 I would have thought you were crazy. But it happened! I mean, shit, there’s a Doctor Strange movie. How fucking obscure is that? Nowadays, it’s not even a question. But in 1996 when the Spawn movie came out (way way way before it’s time, in my opinion) comic book fans rejoiced at seeing that character hit the big screen. Today it’s expected that like every 3 months a super hero movie comes out. And I guess I like that.

i liked when I met this dude and Rob. Fucking classic, I can’t repeat it enough. Thank you for coming to the shop, too. I hope you liked the White Girl…. unfortunately, the Julian Marley weed company sents some shady fucks into our store to talk business, or maybe they didn’t even send them in… it was a weird experience.. like this black dude and pretty black chick came in, claiming to work for them… gave us a box of Marley shwag, like a dope hat, wristbands that had bowls built into them, bunch of rasta stuff… and a CBD vape pen… then we never heard from em again… my inventory people were so confused… they didn’t have a transportation manifest or anything… just straight weird shit….

ya’lll GOTTA try this Citrix… next time ya’ll come thru, I’m giving you some of my own stash… no charge… got some good edibles and concentrates too.

I like that my homie is returning from Phoenix to visit us on Friday, for the 2nd time! Almost 3 days of herb, brew, my wife and mom’s home cooking, and laughs.

When people walk up to ask me for something I like saying, “No, I’m not going to suck your dick” it’s really funny. Just random people, doing it with friends or family isn’t as funny.

One time I was waiting for the train and this guy comes up and says “Hey, I kinda have a weird favor I want to ask of you” so of course I said “No, I’m not going to suck your dick”. Turns out he just wanted money. I gave him money but I didn’t suck his dick, nuh uh, no way.

One time on break at the call center some guy walks up and asks for a favor. My response was “No, I’m not going to suck your dick”. He laughs and says no, he wants me to see if I can find this chick in the building. I ask, “So you want me to ask her if she’ll suck your dick?” he said no. So I go in, look for her, she wasn’t there. I came back out and said “She said she doesn’t want to suck your dick”.

This christian rapper kid was handing out flyers during another break. I get one and I ask, “What is this some kind of dick sucking party?” and he goes, “No it’s my rap show” and I respond with “What are you rapping about, sucking dick?” and he said, “No, I don’t rap about gay shit, I rap about positive things.” At that moment I realized I was no longer the asshole in the situation and he was the gay bashing shitty rapper. That kid would never look me in the eye again after that day. Pussy.

Oh, one time during lunch I was sitting at the hood rat table and one of the hood rats says, “I can’t believe nobody has said anything about what I’m wearing today” So I look up from my phone and tell her, “well you look like shit”. She didn’t really look like shit, she was just really annoying.

I think I like being an asshole, I think that’s what this is. I mean, I’m nice to the people in my circle most of the time.
