What is a Subtle-Lo?
It is someone who rarely talks about anything Psychopathic to those that do not know any information about him or her beforehand. He does not whoop whoop often, if at all, and chooses the appropriate times to wear Hatchet Gear.
You might never even discover this Subtle-Lo’s connection with Insane Clown Posse et al unless you happen upon the subject of Juggaloism, Gatherings, etc.
I am a Subtle Juggalo. I rarely advertise my connections, but if asked I will politely explain as much as needed for the conversation. I am only known of my hardcore history with the Juggalo world by other Juggalos and Juggalettes, certain family and friends, and sprawled media that have contained images of me throughout shows and such over the years.
To what level of Subtle-Lo are you? Why?

i dont whoop. i dont particularly wear the gear, unless im goin formal, and wanna be a lil sharper lookin than usual.
but i cant honestly say im that subtle. when someone asks me about connections, shit, unless i like them for some reason, i tell them whatever ruthless shit pops into my head. ‘its a bunch of psychotics who go to violent shows and wile out, then clique up and stomp around town whippin the fuck outta empty-headed dickdrips like you.’ et cetera.
they got nothin to go on but me, so they mostly buy it.
come to think of it, im more of a subtlelo to other juggalos, in the main. dont wish yall well, or shout out my clown love as often as i perhaps should.
awfully paranoid, arent you?

My friends know the music I listen to, they’re cool with it and my one friend goes to shows with me. If I’m bringing it up on dates, its a deal breaker some times. I explained a short version of the whole thing but some weren’t having it. Oh well. Back in the day, I’d wear the gear often. Owned a lot of merch. I knew juggalos in the area, hung out and partied with them. The juggalos that are still around and who I see at shows I say whaddup.
I don’t whoop. I’m not a whoopalo. My response is more like whopper whopper. Fucking with people. Never had a megaphone on hand but that’s what I’d be doing. ‘Hey yo dickhead!’
Subtle? Perhaps.

I’m subtle but never used to be. There was a time, about 12+ years ago you would see someone sporting some hatchet merch. And you would nod, say whats up, and make a new friend. Then it turned into mugs, and claiming seniority. I do not whoop. I don’t wear merch. I don’t do family chants. All I have is my tattoos and CDs. However I do not deny listening to it. I just don’t go out advertising it.
I'll fuck you till you love me, Faggot!

good subject.
in my older years I’m very subtle, used to be all out twiztid hair, different hatchetgear everyday, I wear merch very seldomly unless I’m feeling that type of way or it just happens to be what I have clean, got rid of almost all merch, anything I have left holds meaning like my first gatherings Loon District shirt (03 I believe) I do wish I had held onto more of it, for memories though not to wear.. I will still give a whoop whoop to someone reppin if I feel its the right time and as long as they’re not some kid lookin like a dumbass, but as someone else said I’ve never once denied being affliated, it usually comes up in conversation about juggalos being retarded or what have you and I always pipe up, I wont wig out or anything but just throw in my two cents, most people are extremely shocked to hear im a juggalo, I guess because I handle myself as a regular person.
25 now never ended up getting tats like I wanted to as soon s I hit 18, but I still plan on my first being a hatchetman, not to rep per se but just because it means alot to me and has probably molded me as a person more than I even notice, and I’m still almost certain I will claim juggalo til my last breath regardless of how things change, even how shit is today I’m not that enthused about but its “more than some merch” to me..
on a rating scale id give myself a 7/10

it comes out alot more when I’m drunk too lol esp cause the dudes I chill with are on the hater side. We freestyle alot and I always throw in juggalo type rhymes, it is who I am, no denying it. Just don’t necessarily go around advertising it. Fully embrace the mindset with my daughter too, as far as the , do you, what you like and how you wanna be, as long as you’re a good person fuck what anyone has to say about you type stuff

regarding that bit about personal molding…
other than the music, jargon, and decalcomania, i dont see my life as being noticeably different than it wouldve been, without being a juggalo. [lotta cool people id have never met, but that goes without saying]
as my homie leper puts it, ‘i was always gonna be what i am. violent j just gave a name to my condition.’

that’s actually very true, I guess if anything it just made me “proud” for lack of a better word that I am the way I am.. I guess I should just say it has held a very big part in my life, as far as the people I met and events attended.. I got into this at a very young age as well so its been somethin for me to lean on for about 60-70% of my time on this earth

i still where alot of hatchet gear (almost always have a hat with the hatchet man [except at work], and my belt i wear every day has a hatchet man belt buckle [but normally my shirt covers it]) but that’s cause it’s what i have, i won’t go around screaming “whoop whoop” but i’m not shy to “whoop” if i get a “whoop”, 9 times outa 10 it’s at a good inside voice as to not disturb the people around me (not like i was as a teen… i would scream whoops clear across the mall XD), and the only tat i have is my hatchet man on my shoulder, i like to where sleeveless shirts or i roll up my sleeves so it is always showing in the summer
so i would say i’m really not too subtle about being a juggalo (nor do i feel i have too/should be) but i am defiantly more subtle than i was 4+ years ago, i just make sure i act like a normal human being in public and never give anybody a reason to get annoyed with me and associate my hatchet gear with an annoying unruly fucking douche bag (anymore)XD

wanna see a family kid spontaneously turn into a raving, spastic twit?
when they whoop at you, say it back like, ‘whup whup’.
they usually lose their shit over it. like i just violated the physical laws of the universe, or sumn.
then, after they stew for a lil bit, i invite them to swing on me. and they vanish, every fuckin time.
subtle? no. but as i already pointed out, i aint so subtle.
awfully paranoid, arent you?

bottom line, as always, is that i can enforce my will on others, and they [generally] cannot.
someone wants to get unkind with me because i didnt whoop to their standards, theyre takin chances, just like they would be if they got unkind with whoever over whatever. its their fuckin problem, im not about to be a bitch for em, just cuz of it.
so yeah, they wanna take their problem to cases, ill oblige em. on the spot.
sure, who am i, right? but then, who are they, tryin to tell me how to be in the first place? nofuckinbody, thats who.
awfully paranoid, arent you?

I haven’t posted on here in months. Don’t know why. I’ve been reading forum chats and shit, just haven’t felt like communicating but I had to jump on this one cause it’s a really fuckin good subject. I’ve slowly showed less and less….uh….juggaloeyness over the years. I wear a Hallowicked beanie most of the time but you have to know what you’re looking at before its recognizable and sometimes my hatchetman charm (I bounce between it, a Strange logo and an inverted cross). As far as whoop whoops go, I still do it but in a reserved, subtle-lo (thanks for the term, dude. You’ll get full credit when I use it) kind of way. Like an old, wise man reflecting on a whoop whoop more than screaming it to the world lol. Also, I once had a dude give me a “wheep wheep” and asked if I liked Shaggy J or Violent Dope more at an ICP show. It fucking cracked me and like a third of the people around us up and the rest mean mugged like a mofo.
